MaureenMLove · 17/01/2008 08:57

Morning, oh yes pleasr, cakes would be good. Might need a glass of something strong later too. Gotta go shopping with mother for food for Sunday and I'm not looking forward to it!

southernbelle77 · 17/01/2008 09:13

Morning! Not raining here right now but certainly has been and looks like it will again later.
Mindee coming in a minute then off to drop in with mindee and dd before having to rush home for lunch and then back out for dd to go to preschool! It's the first time we have done it with preschool as well so it will be a quick and simple lunch today me thinks!
If you're getting cakes and I'm out, save me one I think I might need it! cheers me dears!!

crace · 17/01/2008 09:13

Shoshe, I am sure you are jealous of your dh going to SA but so am I! Lucky boy

Hi Katy!

Em -yes, please, I will take anything fattening and sticky please!

Mo - ergh, good luck.

Well send some good luck vibes my way please, I have my anomaly (sp??) scan today at 2.40. Hubby is coming obviously but he is on child duty with baby mindee and our dd, poor chap. I am reasonably nervous, I feel movements constantly it's just the other stuff you worry about isn't it?

We won't be finding out the flavour either! Need some surprises in life eh? I WILL be looking however ;)

southernbelle77 · 17/01/2008 09:15

Good luck crace. I hope it all goes well for you {positive vibes emotion]

crace · 17/01/2008 09:24

Thanks SB - today is going to be agony! Off to get some comfort food - ha

mumlove · 17/01/2008 09:34

Morning everyone, it's raining here as well!!
Shosh- I hope your DH doesn't enjoy himself to much, will he bring you back a present?
Cakes would be great with a nice coffee, I think we all need them.
Goodluck to all who needs it whatever they are doing today, just going to get coats on for toddlers.

MaureenMLove · 17/01/2008 09:48

I'm everything will be fine Crace. Such a worry though. I remember when I was pg with dd 13 years ago, although I had the 12 and 20 week scans, we weren't bombarded with all the statistics and figures that you are today. You were simply scanned and if there were problems or issues, it was discussed then. I can't help feeling that giving new parents so many facts and figures, just creates high blood pressure and worries that you could do without. Its bad enough being pg as it is! I hated being pg and I was blissfully unaware of any stats and I was only pg for 4 and half months really. Didn't know for 3 months and she was 3 weeks early!

ROSEgarden · 17/01/2008 09:52

Good luck Crace..im sure all will be fine though

Pouring down here AGAIN!, its like night its so dark...mindee 2 was late this morn, not at school to meet us either..came racing into classroom and 9, no bag(space clothes as few accidents altely) and mum rushed bag out..cue mindee sobbing his heart out..neevr been like this before?..must be the rush or maybe no sleep last night???..just stopped now!, wow do i have headache!

crace · 17/01/2008 10:04

Thanks girls. Mo - you are definitely right, tooo much info these days. Not sure why I am nervous, I have always have strange emotions with regards to this pregnancy. Just getting my head around it now, 5 months into it! And that you didn't know for 3 months.

Hi mumlove!

Rose, ick, not a good way to start the day.

MaureenMLove · 17/01/2008 10:08

I just thought I had a rotten hangover for weeks and weeks! I was so out on the town at that time of my life! Drinking, smoking, the lot. (No recreational drugs though! ) I remember vividly sitting in Kbears house, one Saturday morning, thinking, 'I've never felt this bad on booze before!' AND the funniest thing was, we recorded a video for our friend who had go to Oz for a couple of years. We were completely plastered whilst doing it and I made reference to having had a baby since she left! Just mucking around, obviosuly, but I was already pg at that time! Weird!

maximummummy · 17/01/2008 10:27

boo-hoo-boo-hoo

ds did not want to go to pre-school today and cried as soon as i said he was going and carried on for 15/20 mins he was really cross too - i bribed him saying if he went i'd get him sweets after or a cornflake cake(which he'd of had anyway we always go to the bakery on a thursday!!!) he said he wanted both cheeky monkey!!! - he'd stopped screaming when i left him but still had tears - i was very matter of fact and kept it short but sweet BUT i feel sooo mean

no cakes for me thanks - i just had a lovely orange shortbread with butter icing made by dd at school - ahh having kids that can cook GREAT isn't it?!!

eleanorsmum · 17/01/2008 11:06

we're back - have got big fat sticky toffee cookies if anyone wnats one! both mindees aslepp and dd playing with funky kiddy tool kit just got at charity shop! got some puzzles and playfood too! must get storage of them all sorted soon!

How do the rest of you sort the toys? and what do you do with your own childrens toys which are too small for other mindees to use? most of dd's are in her room but ahe wnats to play with them down here!

Also does anyone have any menu ideas for lunches? i am going to cook up and freeze this weekend as am now feeding two lo!

shoshe · 17/01/2008 12:48

Mo I was like you didn't find out I was PG with DS till 44 months and he was 6 weeks early, DS2 I knew straight away (Sick from day1 till birth,) but he was 10 weeks early and DD was 12 weeks early.

I had NO scans with Dses at all, ( would have been good if I did as DS2 had Spina bifida) had loads of scans with DD but there was 14 and 13 years between the boys and her.

MumLove DH better bring me a pressie, Gold in particular, as its my birthday and its valentines day just after he gets back!

Right, I've been shopping, which was very painful. Mother just kept saying, 'well I don't eat that, so we'll get this!' She's making a triffle, because she likes light things after she's eaten and she's bought pots of jelly for the kids! You can so tell she's been on her own since me and dg left home! No chocolate cake, no cream, no anything with full fat in! In know we should all be eating healthy and we do the rest of the time, but its a party fgs! She has a problem with having cold meat and mash too. Says she's not gonna eat the mash, because its just not normal! All across the country people eat cold meat and mash on Boxing Day, but its not normal apparently!

MamaVonG · 17/01/2008 13:07

cold mash?

shoshe · 17/01/2008 13:08

???????????

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 17/01/2008 13:12

The mash isn't cold, you numpty! Is is just me then? Do people not eat cold meat, mash and salad? Kbear said its fine.

MamaVonG · 17/01/2008 13:20

I think iits just you. But don't be sad!

crace · 17/01/2008 13:23

Mo, it's you! However, I will eat mash on it's on everyday, it's yum. It's your party though, yes? I would just get the extra bits you want and bring them on the day. As in, "oh, I noticed we forgot these, so I went for them".. there are always around our meddling, forceful mothers. I have one too - nightmare.

MaureenMLove · 17/01/2008 13:28

Really? seriously? Neither of you rate cold meats and hot mash? I'm shocked. I thought everyone had that sort of thing. I'm gonna do a survey right now!

shoshe · 17/01/2008 13:30

Thats why you bought your ricer

Hahahahahaah DH on his way to Heathrow!!!! Serves him right for going to SA without me.
