Hello

Dont normally post here but have my CC inspection sometime today or tomorrow so up mega early and bricking it as always lol!!!

shoshe · 10/01/2008 07:22

I was up but having to change my register a bit and reprint it as some Parents cant follow a simple column and write their child's times in their own column. One Dad put it in another child's!!!!

So I have coloured each child's columns! Bet he still gets it wrong!

Great Dad, but definitely a blonde, and info I have to write down, and then he dost always give it to Mum (Mum and I have a telephone check up on it once a week)

shoshe · 10/01/2008 07:24

aGalChangedHerName Good luck sure you will be great after all your a MNetter

aGalChangedHerName · 10/01/2008 07:37

They are introducing grading in April so yet something else to stress about

southernbelle77 · 10/01/2008 07:43

morning all!
I'm up and about having breakfast etc so that we are ready when mindee arrives.
Not sure what to do today as the weather sounds dreadful out there.

MaureenMLove · 10/01/2008 07:54

I've been up ages too, but I just switched on the TV to see the news and the fishing channel was on! DH has turned me into a fishing geek! I couldn't stop watching!

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 08:40

Morning gals,

what a horrible morning.

One of my mindees is definitely leaving very soon but hasn't given me a date yet and my full-timer is reducing to three days a week. Slightly panicking about filling my spaces. Had a lot of interest but still nervous as they are all part-timers and its hard to get them all to fit in. I don't even know how interested they are either.
There's one who lives in the next street to me who would be perfect as she will be full-time but she's also seeing another childminder who lives on my street. She is good friends with the mindees of this other minder so it's more likely she'll go to her .
I'm just really worried cos I haven't got a contingency plan if my spaces aren't all filled which I rely on.
It's so stressful sometimes.

southernbelle77 · 10/01/2008 09:40

Oh fruitloop I totally understand that feeling! I'm really in need of some more work but as yet it's not happening. Did have a query the other day but was hoping to hear back yesterday and haven't. It's only temporary work, but right now that would be better than nothing.
I could really do with a full timer and then I would worry no more!
Good luck and hope you hear something soon.

KaySamuels · 10/01/2008 10:25

Morning cms! I haven't been in for a while, been telling mindees computer is broken!

I am off sick today with tummy bug. Which I know I got from my baby mindee and I am pretty gutted as the are usually a really good family to mind for.

So I am ill on hat is supposed to be ds's first day at nursery - if I dn't take him will feel guilty (may not be able to manange the walk anyway), if I do take him will feel guilty as other mindee also goes to nursery and her nanna will probably have had to have her and take her to nursery today.

Oh yes and we have no bread or milk in the house! May have to drag myself to the shop. Wjhy do I feel guilty when I am off ill? I am only ever ill if mindees come with something when they should have stayed home!!

KaySamuels · 10/01/2008 10:30

Fruitloop and SB77 hope you fill vacancies soon, I have just took a part timer on, so that has eased worrying a little but still not enough financially to keep me afloat, this is definatelly a draw back of childminding isn't it.

maximummummy · 10/01/2008 10:45

wow - i have a whole day off today and my ds is at pre-school - of course i should be doing something more productive with my time but no i'm mumsnetting instead!!!

southernbelle77 · 10/01/2008 10:56

Oh I would say mumsnetting is productive!!

Well had my inspection and it lasted all of 15 mins

Only paperwork they wanted was my Child Protection Policy so short and sweet huh?

shoshe · 10/01/2008 12:20

My God CC sounds a lot easier than Ofsted, but well done

Now you can sit down with a coffee and a sticky bun

MaureenMLove · 10/01/2008 12:58

Hi all! I've just had a lovely morning with DH! He had a job to do in Greenwich, so went with him and sat drinking posh coffee in Witherspoons whilst he worked. Then we went to the most wonderful Chinese Cash & Carry. Its fab. I take the mindees there sometimes, its got all live fish, crabs and lobsters there. Very interesting for them I think anyway!

I decided to treat myself to some nice serving dishing for my party. Got several beautiful white canape dishes and some big bowls. Loads of king prawns too, for DH to make his world famous spicy prawns too! Getting excited now!

crace · 10/01/2008 13:29

Hi ya'll - mindee 2 very crabby with a cold today, arrrgggh! It's so hard to listen to them sitting there crying, but parents have an important commitment today so will muddle through. Hopefully early departure, or fingers crossed anyway!

Afternoon all, mindees are all asleep so just having 5 mins sit down. Who sent me the rain!!!

southernbelle77 · 10/01/2008 14:11

me too mumlove! Enjoying the peace while it lasts and watching Doctors and Neighbours (I didn't just admit to that did I?!).
We did some rainbow painting this morning which turned into hand painting which was messy and fun!
Going to make some peanut butter and oatmeal cookies later if mindees want to - or even if they don't actually as I want to!

shoshe · 10/01/2008 14:12

I have still got the miseries here sahmindee girl is happier but still has the odd moment of tears, younger boy, slept fot 11 mins then screamed for twenty, elder boy has cried since he got up!!!!

Thats it not havin anymore time off, its not worth the unsettling

Ineedaholiday · 10/01/2008 14:18

Hope my overdue cc inspection is as short. Last year was 2 hours and the year before was 1 hr.
well done

southernbelle77 · 10/01/2008 14:27

ok I'm probably being thick, but what's a cc inspection?!

KaySamuels · 10/01/2008 14:35

I have a little more eergy now and I'm feeling peeved I have lost a days wages.

Baby mindee came on Wed, nana dropped him off, said he had fell back to sleep in car (unlike mindee), mumtext me during the morning to see how he was as he had been 'iffy', later had a text nana couldn't pick up as gone home from work ill. Grandad picked up and let slip mindee been sick during night and had given nana the bug.

So even tho baby mindee been sick in the night still came to mine and gave it to me and probably other mindees. It is so inconsiderate, I can't work for anyone today and really could have done without losing a day's pay. Also ds has missed his first day at nursery as I was too ill to take him.

Sorry moaning over will read thread now

KaySamuels · 10/01/2008 14:38

CC = Care Comission (sp?)

MML sounds like you have had a good day

Sorry mindees grizzly for some of you today - at least nearly hometime!

How is LT and baby bump? - not been around much lately.

We have rain too mumlove - horrible and grey outside I have my lights on it's so dark!

Tan1959 · 10/01/2008 15:10

I've had similar problem with a mindee yesterday KS - schoolage mindee taken to school by parent after mindee had vomited at home, then was sent home after vomiting three times. Parent brought mindee again this morning for me to take to school, now I don't know if I have overreacted but I reminded parent of my health policy. My policy usually states 'stay away' for 24 hrs since last bout of illness but I have just changed it to 48hrs because several of my mindees have gone down with varying degrees of a sickness and or sickness/diarrhoea bug.
I am surprised that the school allowed mindee to stay having been sent home yesterday with it. Wave to everyone else
