Anyone there.....it's a bit dark in here

Well I'm just waiting for the sisters to arrive, ds is singing songs about wanting them here, he's desperate to see them again as no kids since the Friday before Christmas eve.

Oh, they've just pulled up. Will pop in for a cuppa in a bit.

Well I'm still sat here in my dressing gown just had coffee and toast and thinking about getting showered and dressed, as I'm off to the Pictures with DGD and her younger sibling, maybe lunch at the Chinese buffet after

I will think of you all working

MaureenMLove · 02/01/2008 09:09

Morning girls. I've got one 8 year old boy all day today and I'm damned if I can think of something really constructive for him to do! We're going to make a cake later for DH birthday, but I can't do that, until he's gone out to work. Element of suprise and all that! I've got just him all day tomorrow and Friday too! Hopefully it'll snow tonight and we can play in the garden on round the park. Although the sky is awfully threatening now, I reckon we might get snow before the day is out!

fruitloop79 · 02/01/2008 09:47

morning, it's a bit dark out there!

looks like we'll be stuck indoors all day if it stays like this

I took DS to the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park Corner yesterday with my mum. It was great fun. there was a mini london eye which was actually quite big. Could still see most of london from the top.

DS thinks it's christmas everyday cos I keep finding bags of pressies I forgot about. He's had presents everyday, he's sooo spoilt.

Well, I've learned a lot from my first year as a childminder. I MUST make sure I take off two weeks at christmas next year. I hate working on and off like this when I should be shopping in the sales! shosh i'm very

It's been lovely to meet all you guys too. Happy New Year to you all

KaySamuels · 02/01/2008 10:01

Me and ds still in our dressing gowns!

I am enjoying chilling out with him, he wandered up to me yest and said 'I love you' I nearly cried!! He is so good with me childminding and I often feel guilty as because he is laid back and doesn't demand my attention it often means he doesn't get much of it.

Fruitloop I always take two weeks off over xmas, it's nice for ds and dp and lets me recharge my batteries. This year I am taking a week off in April, August, then two for Christmas.

Happy New Year everyone from me too.

Back at work here, but rather glad - my 2 year old was going stir crazy.

Bit nervous as today is my announce day - I need to tell my mindees parents that I am pregnant, and as I am very large 19 weeks I really need to get to it. I didn't want to tell them over Christmas as they may have worried about it. I am taking 3 months off so it's definitely going to affect them, am just waiting for them all to give notice Been dreading telling them, and kept putting it off. Lame-o me

crace · 02/01/2008 11:08

Mo - what about board games, or computer time?

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 02/01/2008 11:23

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 02/01/2008 11:31

dya ever feel like you muddle through your day?..dd and mindee 1 playing scooby doo house, mindee 2 playing with toys food(tipping it out and us utting it back in saying which fruit/veg it is..mindee 3 asleep....i know its first day with baby but feels so unstructured, but cant do many of normal things with these ages (painting/cuttin/gluing etc) which is what we normally would be doing as id have baby to pick up and help meaning hands are tied/??????they ARE all good but think itll just be 'playtime' all day until they go back to school???

dmo · 02/01/2008 11:58

just woke up still in bed on the laptop my ds's have only just woke up also

might go for a walk with the boys new bikes
no rush (suggles back down)

MaureenMLove · 02/01/2008 14:26

How cool is this! Mindee is playing Cbbc games on my laptop and I have just remembered that DD got a laptop for Christmas, so I'm sitting right next to him MNing whilst he plays!

shoshe · 02/01/2008 14:30

Well we are back, it was a wonderful film the kids loved it, took one of my mindees who lives opposite as well.

Who was it was raving over the potaoto ricer?

Who ever it was I bought one BRILLIANT!

MamaG · 02/01/2008 14:32

Get the lego out Mo

MamaG · 02/01/2008 14:32

What film did you see? I want a potato ricer

shoshe · 02/01/2008 14:40

Mr McGoruims Emporium, it was brill

MamaG · 02/01/2008 14:40

oh DD saw that just before Christmas, with the Brownies. she loved it

MaureenMLove · 02/01/2008 14:44

Lego is too messy and I haven't heard a peep out of him for nearly an hour, so why rock the boat. Alice in Wonderland is on the TV, everything is peachy!

It was ROSE/PC who wanted a potato ricer. I do too now. Think you can only get them in places like Lakelands though and I can't be arsed to battle with BlueWater before the end of January!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 02/01/2008 14:44

we went to cinema sat morning, the local nursery had taken 6 children there..seemed to be ok on ratio's but were sending and letting the children go and come back from toilet on their own all through film!..the oldest was 4 as hes in dd's class!!!!!!!the toilet is out door along long foyer type corridor of which two escalators lead off!, drinks machine/sweets etc stand is there and right at end of foyer, two big heavy doors to get into toilets!!...am i being daft or is that out of order?

shoshe · 02/01/2008 14:45

I did wonderfull film,

Did you have a good Christmas?

MamaG · 02/01/2008 14:45

I could nip to lakeland in windermere

MaureenMLove · 02/01/2008 14:48

It would make a nice birthday present.....

nannynick · 02/01/2008 14:52

I'm not working today, but have been very productive. Set my alarm for 6.30am, to try to get myself back on usual schedule, as working tomorrow. Needless to say, I woke up, switched alarm off, and stayed in bed - but I did get up and have breakfast at 7.
Started to clear out my attic - went to the dump 4 times, trying to recycle as much as possible - alas plastic went in landfill.
Then treated myself to a shopping trip to buy new shoes and a new coat. Even in the sales, still spent rather a lot, but with luck the coat will last a while.
Nearly 3pm and I'm just about to have lunch!

Not looking forward to waking up 6.30am tomorrow - expect it to be cold, snow is forecast.

shoshe · 02/01/2008 14:53

Mo do it on line, God I never GO shopping if I can help it, I get two or three friends together and we do a big lakeland order and split the delivery ao if its over £25.00 no delivery cost anyway.

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 02/01/2008 14:56

where are you again Nick?, id love it to snow here tomorrow(teesside) as dd was so dissapointed it didnt snow around Christmas this or last year(the year before it was snowing christmas week)

MaureenMLove · 02/01/2008 14:58

I'm not usually a Lakeland user though! Bluewater is only 10 minutes from here, so I could make the effort and I did get Bluewater cheques from one mindee for Christmas.

nannynick · 02/01/2008 15:05

I'm on the Surrey Berkshire border, between Ascot & Woking. Doubt snow will last long, or be that much, last forecast I saw said it expected snow to be 1 or 2 cm's.

Just asked my sister to get me a Potato Ricer for my birthday - else just to give me the money and I'll get one from Lakeland when I next go to Windsor (my nearest Lakeland).
