Right, don't laugh, but its really cold towards the back of my house, since dh knocked the extension through into the house. I spotted my red wooly bobble hat on the table about half hour ago and I'm wearing it! All I need now is a pinny and I really will look like an old lady! Makes you wonder why I didn't remember you loose most the heat through your head though, dunit! I tell children than every day! I'm boiling now!

Just text the mother of mindee, who stayed in London last night for her work do. Mindee was staying at her friends house and she was dropping him here this morning. I have to leave at 8.30. Guess what, no sign!

Now, as it happens, he is the only one I'm taking today, so if he's late, he's late. However, I am tempted to ignore the front door and tell the mother when/if she txt me back to say, 'sorry, I left at 8.30 because I wasn't going to make anyone else late!'

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 13/12/2007 08:31

Bloody woman! She says, 'don't panic, its only 8 o'clock!' Er no, its 8.30! She is going to ring the mother and find out what's going on. I got up and dressed for nothing then!

Annoying MO!

It's my birthday today, I'm not working and in about an hour I will be child free until tea time..........I'm going to have a coffee with my friend, hopefully go to bed for a nice sleep! (sad arent i!) Then this afternoon I'm going to get my nails and eyebrows done then I'll collect my dc and we are all going for a big family meal! Bliss!

crace · 13/12/2007 09:09

How annoying Mo, not a good way to start the day. I would say, no! I did that this am - my mindee is always late but I just got everyone in the car text them to say I'd be back after drop off and off we went. Mucho satisfying! Not always easy in practice though, is it?

TH - babies are great, you will have a great day

LMG, Happy birthday!!

Lovely daughter of mine had a horrid night last night, so very crabby this morning. Struggling to keep the short temper reined in. Sleep. All I want for christmas is sleep so listen up Santa

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 13/12/2007 09:20

I was about to leave (or turn the lights out anyway!) and she pulled up! She didn't even get out of the car, just looked at me like it was my fault and shouted sorry. I just gave her a look and rushed mindee up the road to school.

Happy birthday LMG! for you! Have a lovely day.

Morning all, only 1 today . 1 is staying with her dad and the other is not well.
TH - you will be fine with the baby and they do cry, don't worry.
MO - it would have been easier if the mum had arranged with friend to drop at school!
LMG - Happy birthday, have a lovely time.

maximummummy · 13/12/2007 09:45

my mindee due at 9.15 cancelled at 8.45 AGAIN . . . . SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN as i will still be paid in full but GRRR it was the xmas party at group . . . . she's always late or cancelling at very short notice

oh well me and ds are off to party - hope there's lots of ofsted unfriendly party grub

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LMG have a nice nap

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 13/12/2007 09:53

Morning all

Mo - I've decided that I need a hat too, haven't had one since I was a kid but I should be setting an example shouldn't I!! And at this morning, how annoying for you!!!

TH - you'll be fine, it's normal for them to cry but you'll be fine. Come on here for support if needed

LMG's - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

crace - hope you aren't too knackered, I had this last week and the next day was a killer!

mumlove - enjoy

MaxiM - how annoying. Have a fab time at the party, our toddler group has a party this morning too - just waiting to see when baby gets up and hopefully we can go and pay on the door (she's been ill so mum didn't want me to buy tickets in case not well enough)

Right, whilst baby is sleeping and it's just me, I'm off to make marmite crumpets and a cuppa (anyone want any?) Then I'm going to do a spreadsheet with figures if double pay baby does come full time instead of me having the sisters, gulp!

TinselHockey · 13/12/2007 10:06

Happy Birthday LMG!

Well so far baby (8 months) has only cried when I left the room, and is currently asleep.

Have been asked to have another 4 year old for a one-off tomorrow from 12-4. Baby leaves at 2pm so I'd be over my numbers for 2 hours. My own ds would be asleep at this time - would you do it?

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 13/12/2007 10:08

I wouldn't personally as not insured if over numbers. I've just applied to Ofsted about having 2 under 1's for 2 single days before one of them turns 1 anyway. I know some people think I should just do it but I know people grass up all the time, even if no enemies and I just won't risk it!

TinselHockey · 13/12/2007 10:10

No you're right. I shouldn't be tempted by the extra £16!!

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 13/12/2007 10:13

God, if that's all it is, I wouldn't bother but your choice. I need help on Tues 8th Jan as got midwife and was hoping one of the childminders at drop in could look after them for about 20 mins but the one who could do those times, won't go over her numbers for 20 mins for the same reason

SweetSnowflake · 13/12/2007 10:25

HI everyone

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LMG

right, need your help, got a call just now for a little girl1yr old, to come wed and thurs full day from next year(jan/feb)

one of my ful timers is leaving this week, so wed will be free for under 5's, but on the thurs, i have mindee 1(2yr old) and mindee 2(3yr old), mindee 2 go's to nursey 12.30 till 3pm....do you think ofsted would allow me 3 under 5(as well as my normal 3 over 5) for the 5 hours a day, only one day per week?????

Family sound lovely, they live three roads away and are taking dd out of nursery as theyre not ahppy(have heard this lots about this nursery!)..i know i could manage it and mindee 1 normally sleeps 2 hours in afty(but i know i cant guarantee that!)....

my registration is all over at minute cos ofsted have me down the opposite way round to my certificate already!

SweetSnowflake · 13/12/2007 10:25

oh and would it be better put in writing than in an email?

SweetSnowflake · 13/12/2007 10:27

oh and one more thing mindee who is 2 doesnt always come thursdays, sometime mondays or wednesday instead but mostly thursdays?

shoshaliteupthetree · 13/12/2007 12:51

Good Morning EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMG's have a lovely day

Mo I have a hat like this aprt from it is black, I wear it on all my school runs, and I dont care who laughs I'm warm

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 13/12/2007 13:31

hi everyone

Happy birthday LMG

SS, I would write to OFSTED to ask for a variation rahter than email. HTH

Busy week, just one mindee today, we've been to Music Group, had lunch, play play play and now he's crashed out, bless.

Right, off to see what else has been happening on MN

Crace good to see you !

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 13/12/2007 13:44

Cool hat! I've got a selection to go with every coat!

I've got brain ache! I'm doing accounts and I'm bored of it, so I've stopped for today and will continue tonight I think.

OP posts:
BoysAreLikeReindeer · 13/12/2007 13:57

Brainache is a good word to describe it, Mo !

I hate accounts, must knuckle down this weekend

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 13/12/2007 13:59

SS - what does your cert currently say? Presume you're not allowed 3 under 5's for some reason (or do you have lo of your own under 5?) As for email or letter, HONESTLY makes NO difference. I always email (but you need a scanned signature) and that way you KNOW they have received it as they have to acknowledge within 24 hours. I sent one yesterday. Good luck.

Just wanted to thank everyone who helped on my thread about giving notice. I've updated it as had another email from double pay baby's mum. Now I REALLY need advice about HOW to give notice. Does anyone have a letter to share???

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 13/12/2007 14:01

Its not even CM stuff, its Rainbows stuff, so you lot can't help! I just can't seem to get my head around Gift aid and the local council grant stuff today. AND I've got loads of scraps of paper with girls dob's and phone numbers on, and I can't remember what order they were given to me in! I need to know, because its first come first served in Rainbows!
