Mindees mum got my back up already!

She's just phoned to say, 'how are you fixed today for babies, only X has got a bad cough and I'm not sure he should be at school.' She could take the day of sick herself. She's never taken one day off, finish early or been to any school functions since I started minding him 2 years ago!

Obviously I said no, btw!

Good Morning Mo, [hands over croissants] Some blardy parents!!

Hump Day that sounds vaguely indecent

CranberryMartini · 28/11/2007 07:35

Morning all. Mindee already here and running round with ds. Might start some Christmas stuff today... am I allowed!?

That mum sounds like a shocker Mo!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 07:39

I love hump day! Have you never heard of that expression? Its hump day because you work yourself up with work from Monday morning, getting busy, getting things done, all bright and breezy and by Wednesday you reach your peak and then its a run down hill again towards Thursday and Friday!

Morning, I'm very tired because i was waiting for fo dp to get home last night, i fell asleep at 12 he got in at 1.30 (was working) feeling sorry for him as he's already left to go back to work! (and he isnt getting paid overtime to soften it!)

Good for you for sticking to your guns mo!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 07:40

When you say start the Christmas stuff CM, do you mean start eating the Chirstmas food or start doing xmas makes?

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 07:43

Oh, I've just remembered baby mindee isn't coming til 9am! I'm done then. Rushed around getting ready for 7.40 and she'snot coming yet! Cool!

Well now you come to mention it I've got my mum's homemade Christmas pud in the cupboard just waiting to be eaten!

Katymac · 28/11/2007 08:21

DH (also a c/mer) had an accident in the car yesterday evening, he had 2 children in the car (DD & her BF)

Do we need to tell OFSTED?

Sorry, meant to say love 'hump' day & morning all

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 08:26

Is the car OK, need any work doing? If not, I don't think you need to bother. Actually, I wouldn't bother either way. He wasn't working and he didn't have any mindees with him.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 08:26

Ooops! Sorry, are they all alright!

OP posts:
Katymac · 28/11/2007 08:28

They seem to be OK - both little girls have sore necks/shoulders & will be seeing the DR later today

The car we are anticipating will be written off

Both children were over 8 as well - so I'm thinking they won't want to know.....but you never know with OFSTED

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 08:34

Aw, poor girls. I bet dh feels awful that he had someone elses lo in the car too! I think you are just asking for more paper work if you get Ofsted involved. After the hamster episode, they will most definately ask you to put it in writing, but if the car is a writeoff and no mindees were involved, its realy got nothing to do with them.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 08:51

Well, mindee hasn't turned up, so either she's taken the day off, taken him to her sisters or taken him to school and will phone me later to collect as normal.

OP posts:
dmo · 28/11/2007 09:35

is dd's bf a mindee?
would not bother if not but if she is and it was in childminding hours i would inform ofsted to be safe, you will also need to write it up in your accident book

when i first read it i thought it said dd and bf (boyfriend)

dmo · 28/11/2007 09:37

btw cranberrymartini
i have done christmas wish lists, christmas cards and stain glass windows with all 17 of my mindees and they are all up and displyed looking very festive
got lots more art things to do and only 3 weeks left better get cracking!!!!!!!!
might just stop for a min for a chocolate cookie and a brew

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 28/11/2007 09:47

Mo - sounds just like mum of the 2 sisters I have Good for you for saying no!! What is it with these people. My parent wouldn't come back from work when her small baby was throwing up all the time and was upset and then when she had a temp of 103.2 (39.9) and was looking very poorly, she had an arguement on the phone because she 'couldn't see the problem' So I know how you feel. I'm actually THINKING about notice again after this runny nappy business. She'll never change and I may have double pay baby's lovely lovely mummy wanting more days at double pay again

Katy - poor everyone, glad they seem ok. Same as dmo said, unless it bf is also a mindee and it was childminding hours, I wouldn't bother!

Right, no kiddies here so going to do my accounts whilst it's quiet!

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 28/11/2007 09:51

Morning all.

Katy - sorry to hear this, glad they are ok.

Guerilla posting, because I'm off in a mo, whizzing off with mindee (when he gets here, sigh) to do a bit of shopping then park as it's dry, yay.

Have a good day y'all

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 10:08

I think you've got the perfect excuse to serve notice Looney and this whole thing could be the making of your business. It does take a while to get a good set of parents and having read your e-mail, you've got it in the making! You rarely hear me moaning about my lot, but had I been on here 10 years ago, I'd have been moaning every day! All of mine are lovely, never take the micky, never pay late and never forget my birthday or christmas! Even this mornings one is OK, she just works to work and mindee gets in her way.

Hello everyone.

LT- if you have a better offer from DP baby's mum I would take it as she doesnt give you the grief the other one gives you and you dont need extra stress right now.

We've made paper clay decs plus angels and i've brought some stamps to do cards tomorrow. So we're getting there.

I sent out about 100 flyers over the weekend (shops, hair salons etc) can't believe i've not had one phone call and i'm top of cis too plus am in yellow pages and lots of online places. My mum and sister have flyers in their cars and at work.......can't think of anything else to do except sit and wait? Patiently.......LMG drums fingers willing the phone to ring.............

eleanorsmum · 28/11/2007 12:14

LMG I too am waiting for the phone to ring! been advertsing like mad - maybe people are all tied up getting ready for xmas and will ring in new year! thats what i'm hpoing anyway!
went to drop in this morn and had lovely glittery time! so glad not in my house tee hee

shoshaliteupthetree · 28/11/2007 12:22

mmmmmm Ellie, my house is covered in the blardy stuff

LoveMyGirls · 28/11/2007 12:28

I'm thinking the same and to be fair it was busy last jan/feb so i know its just round the corner just be nice if i had something solid in place so i could relax over xmas!

Fingers crossed for us both! I'm hoping people will at least see my advert and remember me in the new year, think i'll go advertising mad at the end of dec (it only takes an hour or 2 to nip a flyer up in all the nearest shops and may be well worth it)

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 12:37

Its always quiet at this time of year round here. I think everyone is too busy thinking about Chirstmas and its not until after Christmas when people realise they need two salaries to pay off the festive season, that you start getting calls!

I hate, hate, hate glitter. The only glitter allowed in this house is glitter glue! Can't bare the stuff, it gets everywhere. I hate that bit you always find on the end of your nose or on your cheek bone 2 days after you use it!

Afternoon everyone,
Just had a one yr old party at my poky little flat. 11 kids and 5 grown-ups . It's amazing how many of 'em you can fit into such a small space.

Both mindees and DS asleep now, shattered!

I'm never making sarnies again, why do they never get eaten? Even jam on white bread! Had to throw them all in bin Mini sausages went down a treat though

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 13:50

Afternoon all. I've had the most hideous headache, in fact I thought it was turning into a migraine. It started just after I'd put mindee down for a nap luckily, down the side of my face and in my temple. I took two tablets quick smart, but it wasn't even touching the pain, so I took another one and thought I'd have a little lie down, whilst mindee was asleep, so I lay on the settee and then realised I was still wearing the head band that mindee had put on my head about 2 hours ago. A childs one, which was far too small! Guess what? I took it off my head and the pain subsided! I haven't got a headache afterall! Twit!
