Mindees mum got my back up already!

She's just phoned to say, 'how are you fixed today for babies, only X has got a bad cough and I'm not sure he should be at school.' She could take the day of sick herself. She's never taken one day off, finish early or been to any school functions since I started minding him 2 years ago!

Obviously I said no, btw!

Oh Mo, if only it was that simple - fancy reading the latest email???!!! Basically, I love this mum to bits, she's fab BUT she worries about EVERYTHING....when baby first started, I had to rock baby all the time as mum didn't want her to cry, never liked idea of too many kids (turning baby into a right sensitive soul) and has now come up with some more concerns !! How funny about your headache being because you forgot you had a headband on hehe. Not funny you had pain, just that you forgot about it. I was made to wear bunny ears band on my head yesterday afternoon but luckily it fit on my head ok

Go on then, I've got half an hour before school chaos!

Lukily you rememebered the bunny ears and didint wear then to school, like a certain Childminder I know did with a wondewoman headpiece

Excellent! I used to have a mindee who wouldn't go anywhere without a purple plant pot on his head! It was a plastic one that fitted rather too perfectly and he looked like Bill & Ben. I suggested to him in the playground one afternoon that he took it off his head and sat on it. (He was 2 and it was certainly big enough) He looked at mewith utter disbelief and said 'Don't be silly Mo! Its not a chair!'

i have had one hell of a day!

one mindees mum rushed to hosp..ok now though or hopefully will be!

antoher mindee screaming the hosue down when her mum arrived "IWANT A DRINK!", then literally screaming saying it was empty when i was half full and then (all this 20 minutes AFTER home time) "WANTING" another one!

then last mindee due to finish at 5pm, my dd and dp had gone to bowling party for me to meet them there at 5.15ish..mindees mum strolled up in car as 5.20, meandering along, been to pick her youngest up from family first, obv no regard for me whatsoever!
I test her at 5.10 to say were sat in car, i have to leave to pick dd up..nothing...she got here and offered no apology/explanation whatsoever..

am very at the last two, very for first one

LoveMyGirls · 28/11/2007 20:18

SS have a drink, sounds like you deserve one!

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 28/11/2007 20:22

God SS, what a day. Hope the poorly mum is ok and at the selfish cow who came late!!! Agree, go and have a drink!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 20:35

And so we finish as we started many hours ago in the Staff Room. AIBU to expect mother of sick mindee to call me tonight, to see if he's coming tomorrow? I've only got him tomorrow to take to school and if I haven't got him, I haven't got to get up! Bloody parents!

What a pain - can you text and ask? Or maybe she's seeing how he is in the morning?

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 28/11/2007 21:48

I text her and she is going to see how he is in the morning, which means I've got to get up! Never mind, if he's not coming, at least it means I'm up and at them by 7.30!
