Right, door's open, kettle's on and home made cookies in the tin.

I nicked the key from the clematis (or was that the tea shop key?!)

Ok ok, I admit it, I picked the lock

Morning lovelies! Have a great day, playing and having fun, while I toil at my REAL job

I'm kidding, I'm KIDDING I have a much easier time, sitting here drinking coffee and chatting about make up and shoes

morning all. we've just made snowman xmas cards! before mindee gets here too! mmm feel we'll be doing more later (mindee 14mths). used bubble wrap cut into snowman shapes and painted white then printed onto black card. very effective if i do say so myself! anyone got any other ideas for funky cards we can make? need to source some air hardening clay to do some others i've thought of but where can i buy it cheap?

mine's a hot choc this morn please! i have the marshmallows awaiting! theres lots to go round!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 09:08

Cheeky mare! We're clearly all too busy to even open the Staff room this morning!

I've done my bit for now, no more children til after school! So I guess I will have a nice day playing and having fun, but whom with I wonder....

fruitloop79 · 20/11/2007 09:10

Morning,

Els mum - you're so creative! Where do you get your ideas/resources from?

I always feel guilty for not doing stuff like that with my mindees and DS but we do go to groups/soft play nearly every morning where they do all that - saves the mess and space in my poky little flat!

Quite tempted to do something christmassy though if anyone has any ideas

I'd love some homemade cookies! Any chance all the calories and fat can be taken out??? . I'm off soon to take DS to nursery then taking mindees to meet CM friend's new bunny rabbit (ahh)

shoshaliteupthetree · 20/11/2007 09:31

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 11:20

Morning all !

Had a totally fab day yesterday - Inset day at school so took my two boys plus the two mindees to local craft centre spent the morning painting ceramic Xmas decs then run around the garden nursery (was raining so they can run in the dry under the poly tunnels, no-other people there to knock over) then into the caff for hot chocs all round.

Then both mindees plus DS2 fell asleep, just me and DS1 awake in the afternoon tee hee

Xmas prezzies for parents - check
fresh air and exercise - check
fine motor skills - check

Today just 1 mindee this morning then the other 2 after lunch. Currently mindee is sticking cotton wool on snowman.

I am liking the bubble-wrap printing idea !

MN rocks

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 12:03

Ah yes! Nelly. It was all that talk of the nit nurse that confused me!

Well done Ju, good job. I've just had a call from one of my mums thanking me for teaching her 8 yr old how to make snowflakes. He did them at school yesterday and he was the only one who knew how to do it! He was most excited to tell his teacher and his mum too!

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/11/2007 12:05

Oh Mo nice warm glow for you !

Right got to go get lunch

Hennipenniinapeartree · 20/11/2007 12:16

ARRRGGGHHHH

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 12:24

Something vexes thee! No, let me guess. Money not arrived? Child not arrived? Or just generally parents taking the piss?

LoveMyGirls · 20/11/2007 12:34

Hi everyone,

You lot are so behind, we did our xmas decorations last week

I've got my xmas newsletter reading to be handed out today (am nervous as i've put a price increase in for new year eeeeekkkkkkkkkk!) have just told one parent and she seemed to take it quite well........

Hennipenniinapeartree · 20/11/2007 12:39

Nowt to do with parents, money etc (all my parents are FABULOUS, I'm very lucky)

For the third day I have had to wait in for the plumber to do a few bits, I'm cooped up with a lovely but very hyper-actice 3 yr old plus a 14month toddler, we have done every single activity to death, I am losing the will to live, mindee deffo needs to go out every single day to various groups to keep stimulated and to stop getting self into trouble. Mindee is trying very very hard with behaviour but is getting bore (as am I) an to top it off am about to run out of bread and milk, have contacte plumber he said he will be here sometime but doesn't know when. I daren't go out in case he turns up as I'm not going to waste another day waiting.

There, thankyou, rant over

Hennipenniinapeartree · 20/11/2007 12:40

and I wish the D would work all the time, not part time

SweetSnowflake · 20/11/2007 12:43

quicky quicky..good thoughts needed, got prospective new mindee arriving any time(hopefully!0..need to be superwoman..hes starting at dd's school next week(nursery) and will be coming for 3 full days(ill take and collect from nursery)..ooohhhh please let me get him, he sounds very cute

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 12:49

Oh good luck SS. Sounds like a nice little number there. 3 days a week and at nursery!

Henni, bad luck. There's nothing worse than having to sit in and wait.

Hi LMG. Parents shouldn't mind, I'm sure they're all expecting a pay rise at their work, so why shouldn't you? I had to fight to NOT get any extra money from one of my mums last year. She started getting child care credits and insisted that I have them. I explained that my pay goes up in March for her and she should spend it on her kids until then. I think we came to a compromise in the end.

KaySamuels · 20/11/2007 13:20

I am sat here typing one handed with 11m old mindee asleep on me, he is chesty so better propped up than laid down bless him! {whispers - plus he is sooo cuddlesome!}

DS is in nursery this afty having taster session, doesn''t start til jan - felt weird leaving him but he was pleased, usually have to drag him out when we drop off his little mate mindee every afternoon!

KaySamuels · 20/11/2007 13:21

good luck ss

gonna try the snowman thing thanks elsmum

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 13:37

I will now try to explain the cd snowmen we made at Rainbows last night! Really effective and very easy to change into Father Xmas!

Get two cd's (I usually steal the freebies at the checkouts in supermarkets! You know, the internet start-up ones)

stick them coloured sides together with a peice of looped ribbon in between. Cut out hat shape in black funky foam and a strip in another colour for trimming on the hat. Two big googly eyes or foam again. Orange pom pom and 5 little black circles from the foam. Stick all on in the obviously places and hey presto! I'll get mine uploaded, so you can see it!

dmo · 20/11/2007 13:48

hi guys i'm back
been ill with flu like symtoms
anyway feelin rather upset at mo as my 2yr old mindee has just had a fit bout an hour ago he has gone to hospital with parents but i'm still shaking
no children left now until school pick up at 3 so nobody to cuddle

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 13:49

Damn! No batteries. You'll have to wait!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 13:50

Oh god! How awful for you DMO. Has it happened before whilst at yours or was that the first time? I remember my god son had a fit on Chirstmas day about three years ago. We'd only just arrived for lunch too. Horrid to see.

LoveMyGirls · 20/11/2007 14:01

DMO - How shocking! Have you got a big cuppa tea for the shock?

MML - I know I have to do it still not nice!
