Right, door's open, kettle's on and home made cookies in the tin.

I nicked the key from the clematis (or was that the tea shop key?!)

Ok ok, I admit it, I picked the lock

Morning lovelies! Have a great day, playing and having fun, while I toil at my REAL job

I'm kidding, I'm KIDDING I have a much easier time, sitting here drinking coffee and chatting about make up and shoes

LoveMyGirls · 20/11/2007 14:25

Henni - stick a note on the door saying you are hard of hearing and to bang loudly, then go to bed you will have to put up with him shouting at you though!

Hennipenniinapeartree · 20/11/2007 14:34

Fab news SSF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 16:05

Right, I was going to post some news, but I'll go and sort Looney out first!

Oh, well done SS, he sounds lovely. I hope he calms down a bit though. Still, once he's at nursery in the mornings, he will.

Back in a minute.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 16:15

Ok, my news.

I've applied for a job! If it comes off, I'll be handing notice to parents in 2 weeks and starting work on 7th January.

I've fannied about with whether to apply or not for 3 days and I've made my decision. I've gt to give it a go. I really, really want this job, but feel so guilty about letting my parents down. I'm giving them the right amount of notice, so only doing what anyone else would do. All as per contract and above board, but I feel strangley sick at having to tell them, IF I have to!

LoveMyGirls · 20/11/2007 16:28

You have to think what';s right for you and your family, like they would do if it were the other way round.

you must be feeling all kinds of emotions and not being cruel to them but you do need to think of yourself!!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 16:44

I won't get it. I don't look nearly as good on paper as I thought! Still, its all expirence at getting my head around it.

Its training to become a Cover Supervisor at a Girls senior school btw! Very good money for a local job and unusual to get training paid! It says sucessful candidates will have th eopportunity to apply for one of the permanent positions once training is done. I might be luck, afterall it appears to suggest its open to more than one candidate.

This is the spec.

We are seeking to train confident, reliable, organised people who would be able to provide supervision of teaching groups to cover teachers absence. You will need to possess initiative and common sense, as well as high-level interpersonal skills and ideally have worked previously with young people. (CM and Guiding covers that, I should think!)

SweetSnowflake · 20/11/2007 20:25

oh Mo, that sounds perfect, you sound perfect for it!, dont sell yourself short, your experience will win them over in leaps and bound!, get it sent in and believe in yourself!

Also in meantime you could compile a list of cm's/child acre plus/emergency child care etc to hand to parents when you tell them you're leaving, it will avert their eyes from you and take some of the pressure off as you've already started to help them look for someone else?
also if your out and about at groups you could ask around the cm's see if they have vacancies etc and say you may have some leads for them?..get the ball rolling..fingers crossed for you chick

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 20/11/2007 21:58

Thanks chick! We shall see. It sounds a bit too perfect to be true tbh, but its all good experience.

I've only got two families that I really worry about. One I know, will probably use the school am and pm clubs, as he already goes there on a Monday, the other one really bothers me though. She 18mths and only comes two days a week, so it took ages for her to settle with me. for her and the mum. I'll be speaking to one or two minders over the next few days, just to ask them about their numbers, in case I need them.

MamaG · 20/11/2007 22:50

Go for it Mo. I bet you'll be perfect
