best day of teh week, Swimming, love it , inthe water by 9.15, hours swimming, changed and snack before we leave the pool at 11.00, and all the little fish fall asleep in the car, transfer to bed and I get to sit down for 2 hours (even little girl mindee will sleep for two hours after swimming) with a coffee and admin (well MN) up and fed, no school run on a Friday afternoon, and most have been picked up by 3, the last gone by 4, oh I do love Fridays

Morning! I've got a good one today for a change. School mindee is going to dads after school, so just need to do drop off. All day mindee has a rotten cold and wants to lay on the sofa all day and watch Joseph! Who am I to argue with her! Mum did say last night that she wouldn't bring her, but since I have no others, I didn't see the point of her having to juggle her shift at work. Mindee said she was happy to veg with me all day, so thats just what we're gonna do!

Got my own child from hell this morning. I didn't start a row, I just simply said, I would appreciate it if you could wear a different pair of shoes today, because its really icy and frosty out there and those have got holes in them. She immediately huffed and muttered! Was I being unreasonable?

I felt like saying 'f*ck you then, get cold, wet feet and a cold and several coldsores and see how the boys like you then!' I didn't.

shoshaliteupthetree · 16/11/2007 07:22

I know the feeling, and why is it ALWAYS shoes, bought DGD a pair of heavier shoes than the ballet type she usually wears for the winter, do you think sh ewill wear them??????

Not as bad as trying to get a coat on her tho, that is just argggggggggggggggggggggg

Grr children

Well a relatively quiet day today

But no assistants in - so I'm actually having to work don't like this at all & I'm still poorly

LoveMyGirls · 16/11/2007 08:17

Morning excuse me while i just AHRHGHHHHHHHHHHHAAAARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGG OMG OMG IM SO SICK OF THIS BATTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously don't know how much longer I can cope with these parents (child is doing well lately) There is something to moan about everyday and i'm sick of it.

One day it's over potty training the next over lack of hygiene the next they send mindee with a thin shirt and no jumper or anything on his arms and its bloody freezing out there. Theres not enough nappies and wipes in the bag or i moan cus they don't pay me on time or I moan because they don't send spare clothes! IM fed up of hearing me moan, Im sick of having to bloody moan why can't they just send him with the right stuff

mumlove · 16/11/2007 08:22

Morning all, just de-ice the car ready for the school run because mindee always arrives when i really need to have left! Get back indoors and the phone goes to say she is taken him to the dr's first and then will let me know if he will come later (they live 40mins drive away).
Well at least DD will get to school on time today with her donation to children in need an wearing lovely pink and purple clothes (non school uniform today.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 16/11/2007 08:23

When's your contract review date LMG? I think it might be time to bring it forward!

LoveMyGirls · 16/11/2007 08:30

It reallt makes no odds Mo, They just dont listen either that or they dont care I'm going to send a list home today of everything he needs to bring but i do this time and time again and it works for a few days then it slips.

Katymac · 16/11/2007 08:35

Why not ask for some stuff to be left at your house

Nappies & wipes
2 or 3 outfits

Then when you use something send a lage note home saying I need XYZ tomorrow?

It has worked for me in the past (but you need a bit of space)

LoveMyGirls · 16/11/2007 08:39

I've asked for that too KM, i sent a newsletter home asking that and i've now got a spare pair of trousers in my draw. It's jsut so draining I feel im constantly offending her.

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 16/11/2007 08:53

Morning all

I'm sat here with dressing gown on, dh taking ds to school this morning . I made a comment last night about other dh's helping out if they're around and I don't have any mindees blabla and he looked at me like 'yeah right'. THEN....this morning I ignored ds so dh could get him ready for a change and was about to get up at 8.10 when dh came up and asked what time he needs to leave etc etc

So, gonna get dressed in a mo, then have a cuppa and some warm croissants (shame I have sandpaper throat though ) and around 10ish I have childminder friend coming - too late to cancel. Hopefully kids will just play in our playroom and we can have coffee and chat (it's just her grandkids today). After that, I'm doing bullet points of what I need mentioning to OFSTED in my complaint reply.....I'm not doing the letter......my dad INSISTS he'll do it to get the 'right' wording because of how this came about

Feel a tad bit sick right now - hoping it's pregnancy related and not the bug coming to me!

Shosh and Mo - sounds like good day planned Mo you were NBU, but I remember being that sort of age too - poor you! (actually, no, I would have changed but back then you'd get a smack or something if you didn't do as you were told! )

Katymac - you STILL not well Sorry you have to work today!

ML - have a good day

LMGs - what can I say?????

mumlove · 16/11/2007 09:21

Mindee now on his way here. Better get ready to go to toddler group.

SweetSnowflake · 16/11/2007 09:56

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 16/11/2007 10:08

Just sung and danced our way through Joseph and His Coat, punctuated with moaning about DD on here! Mindee doesn't seem that ill to me! She wants chips for lunch, so we're going to go and buy some in a minute, to bung in the oven and possibly a bit of choccie too! Why not, eh? It's cold, she's got a cold and its snuggly day! Might even treat myself to some of those Nescafe Mocca Chocca things!

SweetSnowflake · 16/11/2007 10:10

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 16/11/2007 11:27

We've having alovely time! Me and mindee have just decorated cd's with glitter glue and when they're dry, in about 4 months, we'll stick two back to back with a bit of a hangy thing in the middle. Beautiful! And still 4 hours til god damn dd comes home from school! Happy days!

MamaG · 16/11/2007 11:30

mumlove - thanks for posting about non uniform day. I set off for school with DD, wondering if it was non uniform day at her school too, when I saw a boy from the year above in jeans!

I called over hte road "hey, is it non uni day today? Do you need to take any money"

He rpelied "yes, 50p and you have to wear something yellow"

(yellow fFS)!

DD looked horrified when I turned round, apparently he's the "coolest kid in school" and I'd been hollering at him

SHe was late for school, but at least she wasn't in uniform!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 16/11/2007 12:35

Our primary was on a mufti day today too. Shame mindees mother forgot the money. (just for a change) Its only a £1 and I rarely get it back. Not worth persuing it really, is it? I do it for so many of my schoolies, I think I might start a yearly one off payment of £5 to cover all schoolies mufti days!

StrawberryMartini · 16/11/2007 12:55

God I am having such a bad day!

DS woke three times last night - thought it was because of a molar but now not sure as he's been whingy all day and I've had a dodgy nappy from him. Fortunately he's asleep now.

AF arrived so I'm all hormonal - little things like the milk being off were enough to send me over the edge this morning! 4 yr old mindee arrived 10 minutes early, and has soiled himself twice already today - it's a problem that I think is connected with his epilepsy so he can't help it but it does get me down.

And I bumped my head on the kitchen cupboard door!

Thank god it's Friday - only a few more hours to go, surely not much else can go wrong??

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 16/11/2007 12:56

Strawbs that's just asking for trouble !

Hope the rest of the day passes uneventfully

shoshaliteupthetree · 16/11/2007 13:37

well we swam, we slept we ate, now the rugrats are tumbling all over each other in fits of laughter!!!

I did my invoices for December AND January (always give out Jans with Decs then the parents give me a postdated check for Jan on their last day with me in December, means no late payments)

AND I booked the venue for our Christmas Do, 4 childminders and 18 mums going to Poole for a Chinese.

DH gets to drive the coach

Good afternoon everyone!

It's nap time, it's soooo quiet

DB got day off and has eaten all the bloody bread, he's gone to play golf and I cant go out cos kids in bed, might have to do a make shift sarnie out of oatcakes 9(yummy )

Spent morning at mindee school assembly then group chatting to other mum's about childbirth (oh joy!)

I'm hoping I haven't entered an empty Staff room again, it was very quiet yesterday eve! I do smell though

LoveMyGirls · 16/11/2007 14:15

I'm here, feeling a bit weird today, got dull belly ache and feel tired!

Kids are sleeping here too I'm having a girls night tonight (see thread in chat please) and dc's are goignt o pil's tomorrow til sun so I'll be able to catch up on lots of stuff! Quite excited but wish I wasn't so tired! Dp woke me this morning and I really thought it was only 2am was gutted I had to get up!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 16/11/2007 14:18

I'm here! I had chippos for lunch! Me and mindee are still taking it easy. She's not particularly ill tbh, she hasn't got a temp and has been chatting away as usual. We've watched Joseph twice now, so we're giving CBeebies a go. I dont usually have the TV on, so I've never seen the Night Garden! TV only goes on after school, so I suffer Drake & Josh and Hannah Montanna.

I was looking forward to an evening teaching DD how lucky she is to have decent shoes to wear. I always make her watch the sad bits on Children in Need! We've got to go to a Virgin Vie party. I wouldn't mind, but I went to one 2 weeks ago!

fruitloop79 · 16/11/2007 14:20

everyone seems to have this belly ache thingie, god i hope my lot don't get it!

I'm just going to make my delicious oatcake sarnie
