Which evening news?!

Good luck!!!! I was too chicken.

Please mention my hamster. He is called Hamish.

ThePrisoner · 31/10/2007 19:53

Perhaps you could have a scan through the thread which many of us posted on originally? Are you allowed to give them a copy?

I think you have to get the general idea across that it would be nice if Ofsted could, possibly, be consistent in how they inspect childminders.

It would also be nice to have the choice about how we would like to run our business. CMs offer home-based care, so we don't all want posters on our walls, for instance (we can have them in files, thankyou, to show parents).

Oh, and please say that ThePrisoner thinks that it is a very silly idea to say that parents have to come to our house to medicate their child if they have a bit of a temperature if they haven't signed a piece of paper at the drop-off.

saltire · 31/10/2007 19:55

Well you can mention how crap it is that fantastic childminders such as moi are having to sit and twidlle their thumbs for months becasue of their rulings that childminders registered within the uk with other regulatory bodies cannot start working straight away as a CM, they have to go through the entire process from scratch.
And that I was given conflicting information not just from OFSTED but by the NCMA as well. There must be loads of CM's in that situation, especially ones like me who are partenrs of serving military personnel, and in a couple of years I'll have to go through it all again if I move back to Scotland

Oh.....was updating the other thread and didn't know this was here!!! Good luck mate and thanks SOOOOO much again for stepping in!

I think the fact we are expected to loads of observations involving more paperwork and time away from the children is something a lot of people feel strongly about, especially parents.

Anyway, good luck, make sure you let us know when it will be aired!! They told me last Friday when I was booked for Thursday so they should be able to tell you!
