Sorry, decided to get busy and do some housework instead! I'm very focused this week!

Gimme those doughnuts, you piglette!

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 07:12

Blitz the babies That doesn't sound good!

Yesterday I put out a call to MN for advice for getting a hot drink ring out of my dining room table. MamaG was her usual helpful self, but then led me to a link which said use a hot, dry iron on a teatowel or similar and it will disappear. So I thought, yeah yeah, don't think so, its been there ages, but it worked! 10 seconds and it was gone. I can't believe it, its amazing, completely gone!

StrawberryMartini · 19/10/2007 07:22

Morning guys. I'm still off today - still feel rough. I hate being self-employed and not getting paid when I'm sick! Have a relaxing weekend everyone.

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2007 07:24

My Mom had loads of tips like that (came from living in Forces Quarters all her adult life)

Will have to remeber that one tho.

And I didnt blitz the babies [duh]

made cauli/broccali cheese with chicken for lunch today, but it was abit runny blitzed so I chucked in some baby rice [bleuggggg] and it actually tasted nice! Dont usually use it, but had acouple of packets of promo ones I was given, just right for thickening

Can I just ask... (should prob put this on the health board but unlikely to get such a speedy response), how do you know the difference between food poisoning and a tummy bug? Also, (sorry tmi at this time of the morning) with chronic diarrhoea is it better to starve myself or eat plain stuff? I don't feel like eating.. might lose some weight so there is a positive!

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2007 07:36

sounds like the bug that is doing the rounds Strawbs, if you dfeel like eating, dont, just make sure you drink loads, (I lost 3lb on it ) Then tomorrow start eating lightly.

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 07:36

Food poisoning is pretty much instant, in that you get sick pretty quickly after eating bad food. You need to eat what ever you can to stop getting dehydrated. I usually go for plain stuff, like toast (no marmite!) just a bit of spread.

StrawberryMartini · 19/10/2007 07:42

Thanks ladies. I'm off back to bed.

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2007 07:42

I drank Two bottles of Lucazade (Mothers cure all as a kid)

Morning everyone!! Hurray! Its Friday!

SM - Hope you feel better really soon, it is horrible being sick when you're se especially!

MD - I am soooooooo jelous, enjoy yourself!!!!

Mo - you are being very well behaved with the cleaning lately!!

Well i've woken up thinking today cannot be any worse than yesterday and even if it is at least it's friday!

I'm really nervous though because of the newsletter I sent home yesterday, I know i'm well within my rights to ask for these things but still scary!!!!!!!!

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2007 07:49

LMGs you sound loads more positive this morning, go get em girl

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 07:53

I've basically asked for parents to remember to pay me on time, provide their own nappies and wipes (when mindee started he was only pt so after a while when they stopped sending wipes i thought it was petty to ask about them when mindee was only here for 1 or 2 nappy changes, then mindee went ft and they stopped sending enough nappies so i felt the need to put my foot down!!)

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 07:55

Must add I already charge a reduced rate for being FT so having to provide thing's they shopuld be providing was startiong to really niggle at me, esp when they started to pay me later and later or pay me with a cheque that took a week to clear.

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 08:03

Good to here you're being positive LMG. Those positive vibes I sent out on Wednesday are paying off! Lets keep it going now girls!

hennipenni · 19/10/2007 10:00

Morning all, day 5 of DDs tummybug, have just given her some toast hoping she will keep it down otherwise i'll whizz her off to GP pronto. Mindee turne up as they've nobody else to have her. Have told them they must find alternative care if this happens again.

Looney, I'm pretty sure D has picked it up from sai mindee so hopefully at least she won't come down with it again.

Meg, I'm at your week off, enjoy some me time. It will be half term for me so I'll be busy, busy, busy! (unless I come down with this bug too, hope not I've lost a fair bit of money this last two weeks)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 10:28

Morning all.......most upset there's no bacon butties!!! My mouth has been watering since the other night when I was told there would be some here in the morning. I couldn't POSSIBLY make them myself....cooking is making me feel sick atm but I'd happily eat some

LMGs - go girl!!!

MegsD - I don't know HOW you manage to get up so early and do all that stuff - I'm finding it VERY hard to get up in the mornings!!!

But.........ner ner na ner ner.........I also have next week off!!!! and going to do lots of stuff with ds

Strawbs - oh no That bug is horrible! I lost £433 last week so I know what you mean abotu being SE! Hope you feel better soon. Did we ever decide about next week and The Lookout? or shall we wait and see how you are? (I sort of need to put things in diary as I've organised so much casually, I'm a bit lost

Henni - I can't believe they'd send them still And does this mean that E Coli is probably ruled out?

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 10:59

Your wish is my command, oh pg one!

I'm working Monday & Tuesday, then I'm off. Sadly DH is at home all week too and he's going to be knocking the extension through into the main house, so there will be dust everywhere. He's taking DD out on the boat as well, I hear.

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2007 12:06

Looney I've always been a morning person, and its even easier as DH cooks dinner every night and while he's doing it I usually have a hours nap

OP posts:
bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 12:16

Mo - thanks Yum, yum!!!!! Enjoy your time off, hope dh doesn't make too much mess!

MegsD - you are very lucky with your dh - deffo keep him!! Mine still insists it's 'my turn' even with the tears rolling down my face as feel so crap when doing it!!

Must go....baby just started crying her eyes out - not sure what's wrong with her today?!!!!
