StrawberryMartini · 19/10/2007 12:34

Thanks Looney - are we sure Saz can't do Friday? I could do another day but ds would be there and we'd either have to meet as soon as it opens or after his after-lunch nap which would limit us. I'm feeling a bit better and have had a bit of lunch so fingers crossed I'll be fine after a relaxing weekend.

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 12:40

Stressed - Dd2 stopped having a dummy this week for sleep's she was doing really well but played me up for daytime naps, she has now decided no dummy = no nap and she stands in her cot throwing everything out and shouting and laughing at mindee so neither of them are sleeping - mindee really really needs sleep otherise is a nightmare and dd isn't much better either, I have now given dd her dummy back (as its jsut not worth it) and moved them and put them in seperate rooms but what shall I do?

Saz73 · 19/10/2007 12:43

SM - Sorry can't do friday, going up north for the weekend. Getting abit home sick down here, need my dose of yorkshire air to get me back on track.

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 13:00

I want to give up I cant do this anymroe, what am i going to do?

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 13:35

LMG, do you mean you want to give up CM or just parenting in general! DD is only just 2 isn't she? Give her the dummy back, don't push it yet, she'll still very little.

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 13:49

Think - I am tired, have pmt, haven't been well lately, am missing dd1, want a break, want a new mindee because current mindee's behaviour is driving me mental and I have no support and I can't give notice because then i would be up the creek without a paddle.

Just need to get through today.

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 13:57

What happened to that lovely positive attitude you had earlier? Come on, lets get it back. Are you beating yourself up again, becasue you can't solve the behaviour problem? You are doing your very best, but you cannot and will not solve it, unless the parents are behind you 100% This has been going on so long now, they clearly aren't. Are you advertising for others?

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 14:04

Yeah I've bumped my cis, put adverts up in shops, theres nothing doing out there at the moment. I rang dp and said I was gonna give notice but he said unles I work eve's we just can't manage and I know he's right. neither of them have slept, the place is a mess and mindee has drawn on my wall with crayon (while i made myself a sandwich cus i was starving!)

I think i'll give it another a week or two and see how things are and if no better and no chance of new mindee I will have to work eves again which i hate as the day is long enough even if you only have you own.

MissInvisible · 19/10/2007 14:27

hey you huys..you know the aprent who is giving me stres about these 16 hour shifts?, i asked them today to confirm the hours for week after nexta s it said tbc and she said oh its as they were, then i said well i text to say i couldnt do x and y that week, they said they didnt get this text(they replied to one of them regarding something else!), so thought for a sec then said they think they just wont go and ring in sick!!!!!!!!....after all that worry and concern!..PAH!

hennipenni · 19/10/2007 15:58

Thats good MI we do worry don't we?

Anyway, feel like a good childminder today! Spoke to a mum about concerns that I had about her child, saying that it could be something or nothing, anyway, she took it all on board and she's just texted me to let me know that she'd seen GP and I was right, there are issues with phsical developement and child has been referred to peadiatrician and physio, feels so good that I'm actually being taken notice of!! (but obviously not pleased that there is a problem, but pleased that I got something done- it's almost as good as second guessing the DRs in A&E when I used to work there!)

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 16:05

Good for you Henni. I bet the parents will be ever in your debt too, for mentioning something. They'll be recommending you!

I've got 4 here now and they are all playing lovely, right in front of me, with the lego! They are so quiet and all helping each other. I love lego on a Friday afternoon!

hennipenni · 19/10/2007 16:59

Bless, old mindee siblings just dropped by to see me, it was so nice to see them again and have a cuddle with the toddler, really do miss them both.

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 17:01

Not entirely sure I have been a good cm today, I ended up phoning mindees mum because mindee wouldnt stop spitting and I had quite frankly had enough, she agreed mindee could come home early so i dropped bk about half hr ago its a relief not to have to do another meal time with mindee this week tbh. I've had a long chat with mum about behaviour etc and explained it may be ok for mindee to behave like that at home but here is different so asked again if we can have a meeting with hv and try to work together to resolve these issues.

Then my cm friend text me to say she has passed my number onto someone looking so fingers very very tightly crossed please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hennipenni · 19/10/2007 17:04

Will cross my fingers for you.LMG's. It would make our jobs a whole lot easier if parents would work with us or at lest meet half way.

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 17:22

Oooh get you, being all assertive! Well done! Fingers and toes crossed that either this childs behaviour improves dramatically or someone else comes through! Happy ending to the week - fab!

MaureenMLove · 19/10/2007 17:40

WOW! Ten minutes ago I had 2 x 7yr olds, 1 3yr, 1 2 yr and a dd & dh. It was mental in here, all children on piano at once, dh trying to ask me questions, in was crazy. Then all at once, 3 parents turned up, took their children and belongings, dh went to the pub and parent came back and asked if dd wanted to go out for Wimpy with them! Its silent in here now! Ah Friday night.... where's the wine?

LoveMyGirls · 19/10/2007 18:06

MML sounds fab!!!!!!!! Dp has come home and says his car is boken so he is out there with a neighbour tryiong to "fix" it while I am mnetting left with dd (who has already been bathed) and to tidy this hell hole - its really bad because normally wen they both have a nap I try to have a bit of a clean and tidy esp on a friday but no such joy today so now its fri night I am knackered and its filthy! Have wiped the sofa down (had a combo of yogurt, juice and dribble on it)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 21:16

PC - so does that mean that they will do as they have been asked in future?

hennipenni - well done you! My support minder (when I first started) told me the other day that she had a mindee that had some problem and kept telling the parents mindee was tripping over feet etc etc and parents just didn't listen/do anything about it. It then got brought up at school and they went to see a specialist and yes, she was right and something could have been done when they were younger but sort of too late now (or something along those lines). Obviously she was annoyed they didn't listen!! And lovely about your visitors

Mo - wow, how nice, did you enjoy your peace and quiet?

Well.....you wanna know what I near blubbed about today????..........I'm in the school playground this morning having dropped ds at nursery. A lady I didn't know (but seen around) said to me 'oh, you managed to get rid of one then', I explained that I was a childminder and that I have this baby 2 days and other baby and sister the other days (lots of people get confused) and then she said 'oh, I've always admired you when I've seen you as you always have all these kiddies and look so together' Very lovely I thought and I was quite choked but THANK GOD I didn't burst into tears - you imagine - she'd have thought WTF was that all about! lol

Well.....I'm sat here waiting for dh to make my dinner!! (his turn). Had metal mouth all day and it's really making me feel yuck. Been eating dry crackers a lot to take the taste away but I want hubby to get off his arse and make me PROPER FOOD!!!! NOW!!!

Oh....I'm also well chuffed with pre-school mindees progress.....her dad spoke to me earlier in the week about her not eating her sandwiches and he was worried as giving her sausage rolls etc. to make sure she ate something. I gave a few tips, one being to make it a novelty so I lent him a gingerbread man shaped cutter and told him to do sandwiches with that. I also said she'd get a sticker when I collect her if she'd had it. I told her I wanted to know what bits of his body she ate in what order . Well, 2 days of success and when daddy picks her up she asks for another one!!! Kids eh! So he's pleased and I'm pleased he's pleased

Come on dh....FEED ME!!!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 21:17

Well give that man a medal.....he's finally got off his arse and turned the kitchen light on!!!! About time!!!

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2007 21:26

looney mine made mine 4 hours ago {sticks tongue out]

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 21:38

[SPPPLLLAAAAAATTTTTTT]

Hope that hurt!!!!

I was sort of still working then and dh wasn't back but still, I don't want to be eating at this time now I'm pregnant, I'm too hungry too early and this metal taste is so horrible and making my mouth water and making me feel sick, I wanted something to take the taste away. He's not very good with this stuff.....I don't have a huge great bump so hard for him to realise I'm suffering (had pains low down today too so not been happy bunny)

What did you have for dinner? Go on....torture me!!

hennipenni · 19/10/2007 21:44

Oh Looney, I remember that taste so well and those pains too, I put the pains down to "stretching pains" as I had them up until I was about 16weeks (with all three pgs). For the taste I just ate loads og ginger biscuits which helped with the sickness too.

We had a dinner today of fish fingers/fish in batter with potato wedges and beans (but in my defence DD3 still vomiting so haven't been able to nip to shop to get something for a decent dinner)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 21:47

Yeah, I've been hoping it's stretching pains too. I'm trying not to be paranoid like when I was pregnant with ds but it's hard. With ds I wouldn't let myself get attached (had mc prior) and just didn't enjoy it. I want to enjoy this one but with the pains feeling like a period and being so wet below (sorry, tmi ), I can't help but keep rushing to the toilet to check everything still looks ok (knicker-watch).

The taste must be a good sign but it's so extreme - one minute it's dry as a bone and I can't swallow, the next it's fills up like I think I'm going to be sick.

As for ginger biscuits......tonight I order a big shop for delivery tomorrow which included 2 packs of ginger nuts! Luckily although it was a long time ago I was pg with ds, I remembered I'd need those!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 21:48

Sorry......poor dd, how horrible for you The dinner sounds yum though! Made my mouth water as dh still cooking!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 19/10/2007 21:57

Food, food, food......give me food!!!
