got one mindee arriving 6.15AM in the morning until 10.00PM tomorrow night(same the day after too!!!>, then one more 7.30, go pick my mum up and get money out for plasterer and alarm guy, they arrive 8-8.30, take all my hard earned money off me and hopefull do a good job, supply tea and nice food to mum all day for sitting in while work being done....pick up one mindee 11.15, feed and water, then pick up dd and 3 others after school until 4pm, 5pm and 5.30pm...cant bath dd or mindee as water will have to be off all day, then get dd and mindee dressed for bed after flannel wash and put dd to bed 7.30 then amuse/ try to calm mindee down until 10pm when collecting..........two full days of this, then 3 weeks of it week after next.., im sooo tired already, i will seriously see how this go's and MAY have to speak to mum about change of contract as these hours will kill me on top of normal week with other mindees!

im off to iron weeks worth of clothes for me and dd now and am ordering a kebab!
have been shopping with dp and dd today then park and museum with dp, dd and sil, bil and niece, my feet are killing and i just want to go to bed.......8-)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 14/10/2007 20:19

OMG and I'm tired just coz I'm dreading the 6.45am start!!! (got used to it when did it all the time for a year but when you're not used to it, you worry you won't get up on time etc etc).

I SERIOUSLY think you should just say 10pm is not an option after this lot that you've commited to. I really think you'll end up ill with those hours if you continue!!! Either overnight stay or pick up earlier - poor kid, it's not good for them either!!

I'm just chilling now after doing DIY with hubby today. We've pulled off the stairs banister and blocked it off with plasterboard. Just finished bathing ds and putting him to bed and doing the cleaning so it doesn't look like we've been messing about in the lounge!! Need to organise someone to put a skim of plaster on it now.

Right, off to watch some tv. Try and get an early night PC. Btw, was it you doing the 'fed up' thread the other night? (it's so hard to know which one of us it was as so many people have been fed up recently)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 15/10/2007 07:23

How's it going? Well, baby sister has been none stop coughing since she arrived! Mum handed over and said 'oh....she had such a coughing fit in the car that I thought she was going to choke to death' - she wouldn't have meant this literally but I know what she means. Baby is happy and fine in herself but this cold just isn't shifting and I'm fed of it for poor baby's sake. I'm not sure but I think she's lost weight aswell so going to email mum to ask how her eating has been since I last had her. Just wish the Dr would look into this more and she seems to have a permanent cough (well, I'm not sure if mum has been back to the Dr? but he certainly wasn't concerned last time!)

Megsdaughter · 15/10/2007 07:33

Looney, I would have said that I wouldnt have taken her back without a Doctors note, I had to do this with one I know wasnt being taken to the Doctors when needed. Poor Child.

PC, dont wear yourself out love, thats to long a day for anyone. Is the mum working shifts or is this just a temp thing, how old is mindee?

StrawberryMartini · 15/10/2007 07:53

Missinvisible I got tired just reading that. I've got a fairly busy day but nothing in comparison!

But I do have good news....

I HAVE A NEW HAMSTER! Must remember to call Ofsted and let them know lol!

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 08:08

Morning all.

PC - do you have to keep mindee awake until 10 too? Poor thing, can't be good.

Looney - Hows it going - still coughing?

Meg - Morning!

SM - nutcase!

Marmite on toast anyone?

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 15/10/2007 08:12

[grabs marmite toast as sooooo hungry]

Just quicky.....yes, stil coughing and she's had one lot of yuck come up. She's fine in herself, unlike when she had the temp the other week, just this cough is crazy. I'm emailing mum atm and just wondered.....has anyone ever offered to take kiddies to Dr's for the parents? Just that I thought she'd be more willing if it didn't mean she was put out (and I don't mind as it's just these 2 in the mornings so not affecting anyone else).

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 08:15

I took one of mine for her TB jab! I offered, I only had her and her mum didn't even consider me until I mentioned it.

If you've got time its up to you, but don't let her take this as the green light to take the pee!

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 08:18

Ooo! Forgot to tell you, I got my piano yesterday! I shall probably regret it by about Wednesday teatime, when all the kids have had a bash on it, but it looks lovely and makes my new extension look almost like a real room!

LoveMyGirls · 15/10/2007 08:20

Morning everyone!!

I think the time of year doesn't help either, it's dark and gloomy when we get up now can't imagine doing really long hours on top of a normal hard day! We're all full of bugs as well, I've started taking multi vits to try and get healthy again, I jsut feel so run down its exhausting!

hennipenni · 15/10/2007 09:38

Morning all, was set to have a busy day, little girl who was poorly last week was all set to come back until my youngest DD started vomiting last night, phoned both mindees parents and they both wanted to send their children, had to tactfully say no as not fair on DD to have noisy littlies running about when she feels poorly.

MI, don't wear yourself out, it's just not worth it.

LT, hope babies cough isn't too troublesome, it coul just be cattargh (sp) that's she is trying to shift. Youngset DD is full of it as well as vomiting.

Meg- morning

SM how cute are hamsters eh?

Mo, enjoy plinking on your piano!

Can't you tell I have time on my hands! phew that's a long post for me

Anybody want crumpets with marmite?

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 15/10/2007 09:51

henni - just a quickly, be back properly very soon....baby has got cattargh (sp?) but how long should a baby have a cold for?? She's still really snotty and it's been going on for ages. She really suffers from these coughs and yet again it's meaning having to stay away from toddler group If the diaries were in the bag, I'd be able to check how long this has been going on for but unfortunately they are at home.

hennipenni · 15/10/2007 10:00

LT, some babies are just more prone than others and can take longer than others to shift them, eldest DD had her for two weeks. Youngset DD has been coughing for 5 weeks now but she is asthmatic and does take a while to shift them anyway (she is a "well cougher"inthat her breathing isn't compromised- although it would be without her inhalers, she doesn;'t have a temp etc).

From what you've said maybe there's an element of allergy creeping in? Both eldest and youngset DDs develope cold/cough like symptoms that we know are allergy related- usually when I haven't hoovered/dusted properly. Or perhaps it's just the usual virus that's taking a while to shift. I really can't say anymore but if you are worried try asking about GPs appointment again.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 15/10/2007 10:06

Funny you should say that, I have emailed mum about the Dr's again and said they may recommend an inhaler or something as this happened to previous mindee. This cough/cold IS affecting her in that she's sick a lot, off her food and really does feel a lot lighter this week. I can't take her to groups like this and although it's only her big sister that's affected, what happens in January when I have new children starting? She's had a cough most of the time for months and months and she does cry with it and on days like today, she's very clingy and doesn't like me putting her down. It just doesn't seem right to ignore her in distress like this?

stealthsquiggle · 15/10/2007 10:16

Mo - new cake to show off on my profile

hennipenni · 15/10/2007 10:23

To be honest she is sounding more like my DD before she was given her inhalers. Our GP was reluctant to prescribe them initially as she doesn't wheeze however she obviously needed them as the effect was amazing. As it affecting the care that you are giving your other mindees you really need her mum to sort this out. OK it may well be a virus but on the otherhand?

Earthymama · 15/10/2007 10:31

Morning , my first day back and mindee not coming so Footloose and fancy free!!

In reality I am going to tackle the 'summer clothes and shoes away, winter clothes out and sorted' thing, (I know I'm late but I've been poorly) do a mountain of ironing and go to visit DD and DGs who are all recovering from coughs and colds. I'll be wearing a mask I think!! Do any of you have flu jab? In light of how I've been feeling I think I might speak to GP.

Have a look at my Help thread, I'm in need of support please!

I'd love some cake but illness/tablets have taken my appetite, though I can't sleep cos I'm hungry. Any suggestions for nice light supper? DP says NYtol butty!!

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 10:41

Stealth - Wow, wow flippin wow! Thats amazing. Well done you. Was it out of a book or your head? I did the recipe book one from Carol Deacons book last week, not on profile yet though, I didn't have any batteries in the camera. I'm waiting for db to e-mail it to me. Made the makeup bag for dd the week before.

EM - hope you're feeling a lot better, don't over do it though. I don't have the luxury of winter and summer wardrobes - just either wear a jumper over my t-shirt or not! I know what you mean though!

stealthsquiggle · 15/10/2007 10:44

Out of a book, of course . Now have to do Little Bo Peep for next Saturday, then a moon & rocket for DS and then something undecided but I would put good money on a Barbie princess for my Goddaughter

Earthymama · 15/10/2007 10:54

I'm always freezing so need tights and thick skirts, wooly jumpers and hats, scarves and gloves. I LIKE winter, I can cover up all my lumps and bumps!! I got some fab Keen sandals at TKMaxx and don't want to put them away but I know I'll cry if my feet get cold!! In fact I'm cold now so I'm going for a cuppa!

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 11:51

SS, Was that the spherical cake for dd? Was it easy to do?

Right, I'm gonna try something radical for mindees lunch. She's 18mths and really wants to feed herself, so I'm going to cover everything and let her do it herself today! Eeek! Might be a bad move, but you don't know till you try do you? Wish me luck - I'm going in!

MamaG · 15/10/2007 12:03

Mo your cakes are amazing, wanted to nosy at Stealth's cake but couldn't see the pic

I don't know how I dared to put my cakes on my profile, I must remove them!

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 12:09

Not as good as stealths! She must have only put my name on the list. Perhaps if we ask nicely she'll make it public for a while - it is truely bl**dy amazing!

MamaG · 15/10/2007 12:12

pleeeeeeeeeeeeease stealth

Earthymama · 15/10/2007 12:28

Go and look at my threads re business cards and needing help while I go to sort out my clothes and put on another cardi....still got a chill I think!!

Am so jealous of cake makers, mine taste fine, but cannot decorate them!! DD makes the best Jack Daniels banana cake..shall I ask her to send one to the staff room?

MaureenMLove · 15/10/2007 12:31

No thanks EM, a vurtual Jack Daniels cake is no good what so ever without a recipe too! Sounds fab!
