Good morning all. How are we all on this very foggy day? Hope everyone is starting to feel a little better. Its really foggy here today. The best day for walking to school, because we get to see the hundreds of spiders webs on the bushes and tress that would be invisible without the fogginess.

LoveMyGirls · 11/10/2007 08:06

Morning, I'm not working til 3pm originally i cancelled because dd1 was sick but turns out she was pretending (how did i fall for that! mind you she was with dp and mil so wasn't until they came home at 6pm I found out the truth and by then i had cancelled work then i thought with me feeling so rough prob best to leave it as it is, i'm sick wokring at 3pm though) So dd1 is going to school and dd2 will be with me, not sure if i should take her to toddler group as everyone has got colds anyway and I would have gone if i'd had mindee, what do you all think? If I stay here don't think i'll get more rest as dd2 will be on her own.

LoveMyGirls · 11/10/2007 08:08

mumlove · 11/10/2007 08:10

Hello Megsdaughter, welcome to the staff room, new people have to supply the biscuits though.

You can all keep your spiders to yourselves thankyou. Foggy and cold here, but then I am by the coast.

Hi megsdaughter, people tend to run in and out of here at lightening speed, but will always help you with any questions and problems, we are a hectic but kindly lot. Would you like a cuppa?

Before I ask the masses, does anyone want a girls cycle helmet for a girl over about 6? I found it in the mess that was the cupboard under the stairs yesterday and its going to the charity shop unless someone wants it.

I remember thinking that when I started with a mindee who did 10 hours a day- I thought omg how am i going to fill 10 hours, he was 3 so no daytime nap and he was very hyper and lacked any attention span.

I find it best to get out every morning either to toddler groups/ park/ museum/ garden centre/ walk then they can use up some energy, interact with other's, learn things, play and wear themselves out generally. At the moment for the ages I have when we have done that we then have lunch then naptime when they wake its about 2pm so they play with the toys in the living room or garden, read a story then at 2.30 I get them ready to do school runs, i do two so we leave at 2.45 and get back a 3.30 we have a snack then the chidren choose what they want to do either painting, drawing, play dough, toys, garden, then about tea time they have tv on and relax a bit, then we have a quick tidy up, i serve dinner, by the time that's finished parents are arriving if parents are later I either read stories or put tv on. hth a bit.

It helps to be really organised and start things earlier than you really need to because you can garantee when you do something late you will have crisis, yesterday I started dinner at 4.15 only for mindee to wet herself (never done it before) so ended up leaving dinner and sorting mindee out luckily I still had time for dinner because I'd planned a bit more time just incase and if nothing had happened we would jsut have dinner 10mins earlier.

Morning all.

Still closed, had to close the rest of this week - cost me over £430 . I keep trying to catch up with paperwork but it's been very hard with ds (who's got the bug but is absolutely fine in himself) as he keeps wanting to nick my laptop!!! Anyway, I'm going to TRY and make sure that doesn't happen too much today as I need to work out my finances too as need to refund parents.

Welcome to Megsdaughter

Megsdaughter · 11/10/2007 08:49

I got triplits all 16 months

MaureenMLove · 11/10/2007 09:08

mumlove · 11/10/2007 09:16

do you work in you own house or the childrens house?

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 11/10/2007 09:17

megsdaughter - she asked if you're a registered childminder, if you don't know what that is then you're not legally allowed to look after those children

MaureenMLove · 11/10/2007 09:17

Are you for real? What are you doing here? I haven't even seen your name around.
