Hi ladies!

just back from the hospital in awful pain so what better way to take my mind off it than come in here!

Any cake going?

They took my ear packing out today and my god did it hurt....icried! I was so embarassed! The doc was so nice and said not to worry he'd seen grown men faint having it done! youch.

So now all is left ot do is get my stitches heeled then i can get rid of my comedy bandage and get back to normal!

In the mean time-

I'd like to introduce my new site launched last night for childcarers and parents everywhere.

It's early days, so there is lots more to go on there, but please take a look and let me know what you think!

Many thanks!

i'd love your support- this place is ac, I'm not leaving and trying to compete mumsnet, i couldnt even come close!I just would love you guys to post on my site? pleeeeeeeease?

I've already plugged it for you! I've had another look this morning, its really good. I'm not sure if I was posting in the right place last night though! Think maybe I'm just used to the way we dothings round here, it'll take a bit of getting use to I suppose.

So the ear. What was the problem again? And has it been completely solved?

MaureenMLove · 04/10/2007 14:38

Where did you have to go btw, Kings College or Guys?

Earthymama · 04/10/2007 14:58

need to ask quickly before pick up:-
If you had thought since July that you were having baby 4 days a week 8-6 ie 40 hrs then it got changed to less than 20 on just days that suited parents eg 10.30 til 3.45 pm, mon, thurs, 8.15-4.30, fri, 10-4 then less after xmas, would you do it?
turned down lots cos thought had full place!1
Need advice after school please.
Bear in mind this is family.

MaureenMLove · 04/10/2007 15:04

Sounds like they're taken advantage of you already EM. Would they have done the same thing to a non-family cm? Such a tough call, are you able to compromise with them? They have to understand that it's your business and by changing things, it means you're less likely to be able to fill parttimers in everywhere else.

Ghostashoshabuster · 04/10/2007 15:35

Nice! I'd love a new car, but it seems pointless really, I barely use the one I've got and DH's is a company car, so its cheaper to use his at the weekends!

Ghostashoshabuster · 04/10/2007 16:05

I have a zafira at the mo, but have to drive antwhere we go including school, and getting the tinies in and out the very back is anighmare, but I cant have them in the middle or you cant pull the middle seats forward to get the big ones in the back cos of the car seats.

The Bongo I can get them all in easily.

It is only for CMing we have a citreon that Dhas just about finished doing up for personal use, the bONGO is far to big to take shopping

fifilou my son recently had mastoid op, is yours something like that? He's going back in 7 weeks and they will decide whether they are going to reconstruct the bones.

He was like Frankenstein when he came home from hospital, we have pics of the horrendous scar! I hope you soon feel well, you will be so much better in yourself, my son was very, very ill on occasion in the past. he can't bear loud noises now though, so don't think he'd like being a CM

Saz73 · 04/10/2007 19:22

My mindee has got chicken pox mum just phoned!! Should I phone parents of other mindee's to inform them????

COUNTPinkChickULA · 04/10/2007 19:38

i would definatly, the spots come out days after theyre infectious so they prob all have them!

MaureenMLove · 04/10/2007 19:40

Definately Saz, any child in your care in the last week.

LoveMyGirls · 04/10/2007 19:41

Yes I would and I would make sure she knows not to bring mindee back until they are properly scabbed over. Can't believe she didn't take the child to a docs to see what the rash was before bringing her to you where she knew there are other children. Mind you its infectious 2 days before spots even come out so chances are they will have it already anyway? I know when my mindee had them his spots came out on the sat he was off until the following monday (so 9days off) and my dd2 still caught them.

COUNTPinkChickULA · 04/10/2007 19:43

ah, im getting so fecked off with myself altely..parent who ive recently had issues with has 'told' me she needs a few 'lates' over next few weeks, i explained that i have newsletter sat waiting for her to say i no longer offer them and any care past 8.30 will have to be overnight, i then backtracked myself, so did she and i ended up agreeing to do the 'just for her'..so peeved off but TBH, i agreed to unsocaible hours at beginning of contract(although she gets me to change it when it suits her!), so didnt feel i could just ay no now, although it now means ill be starting at 7.30(some days 6.30) and finishing gone 10pm..i may have to see how it go's then tell her im changing contract as that is just too long a dayfor me and her child

LoveMyGirls · 04/10/2007 19:47

That's insane! You are a saint! She is bloody lucky to have you, I hope you are charging a high rate for those kind of hours.

COUNTPinkChickULA · 04/10/2007 19:52

yeah, but not as high as new children are charged, she was my first minde, ill get??...5.50 from 6.30 onwards..still shoite though

MaureenMLove · 04/10/2007 19:56

Right PC, you back track again after this ONCE and say its not gonna happen again! You cannot look after other peoples children properly if you don't get enough sleep for a start and that means going to bed at a time that is acceptable to you. She will have to accept that 10pm or later is NO GOOD for you OR HER CHILD! You have said that you are happy to do overnight, so thats what you'll do. Give her the news letter, tell her to digested it and come back with a better solution! END OF! Consider yourself told!

Saz73 · 04/10/2007 20:30

thanx, told parent can't have her tomorrow and next day i should have her is next thursday so should be ok by then...hopefully. just hope no one else has caught them, have told parents 1 said great she wanted him to get it and the other said oh no (he is only 12 mth) last thing she needed!!

LoveMyGirls · 04/10/2007 20:31

The younger they have it the milder it is (i think?) smother in calamine and give piriton and it shouldnt be too bad. (my advice)

Katymac · 04/10/2007 20:36

Ofsted are coming tomorrow

I feel insecure & panicky

Help me calm down

MaureenMLove · 04/10/2007 22:03
