Morning all

Well, usually I'm just getting out of bed at this time (I make the most of not having to get up early when I don't need to ) but the sisters came at 6.45am this morning (same time as I used to before au pair left).

Soooooo, kettle is on, bacon is sizzling under the grill (Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm), quickly going to dress the girls and start on breakfast, anyone care for a yummy bacon butty?

Oh dear looney, not a good start to your week.

looneytune · 17/09/2007 11:15

Tell me about it, I just want to curl up in bed and start again later!!! Well, think my finger is starting to stop bleeding at last. It's throbbing like hell, loads of blood which is not good as I'm not very good with blood Need to feed baby now, a little late coz I went dizzy so sat down and pressed down as hard as i could. Bless her though, she's happily bashing plastic cups and hasn't complained yet

Do you have written permission from a responsible adult to put a plaster on your finger LT! Hope you're OK and it doesn't prevent you typing too much!

My litle cutie has just said he wants a cuddle from dd, he climbed onto her lap and was asleep in seconds! I think I may pull her out of school and she can do my job for me! So I've got half an hour off now to MN and dd and her friend are cleaning dh's new boat!

looneytune · 17/09/2007 12:12

Just when I thought my finger was ok, just throbbing.....picked baby mindee up (fell asleep on my lap) and put her in bed and as I put her down, I noticed blood dripping down my finger and yes, it's on my nice white cot sheet, baby's t-shirt and her trousers!!! Thank god that I changed her top earlier and put one of my own spares on, just hope it comes out of her trousers!!! What's good for making sure clothes don't get stained with blood??? Want to see if I can sort it before tonight.

Oh.....and I still need to phone the other social services!!!

[virtual SCREAM ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH]

Anyone else felt like they shouldn't have got up this morning??!!!?!

Have you got any liquid soda crystals? Probably not, but get some next time you're out. Its very good on everything. No bleech in it either. I use it on everything, from laundry to cleaning paint work. Anyway, what about a bit of salt? If its a fresh stain and still wet, you will probably find it'll come out quite easily.

ju · 17/09/2007 12:16

looney it's Just Not Your Day grrr

mumlove · 17/09/2007 13:56

Afternoon everyone, just put baby down for her nap so doing a quick read through. Had a busy morning of school and perschool drop off and collections, glad preschool finished 15 mins before school. The joys of 12 o'clock pick ups.

Looney - I hope your day gets better.

Will catch up now on what everyone else has been doing.

PinkChick · 17/09/2007 14:15

sorry just skimmed while got a min..looney, my dd has had what look like end of cigarette burn on her body once or twice, for her, my doc has explained it away as a particulary bad spot of dry skin which has become irritated/infected..i wouldnt jump to conclusions, BUT i also wouldnt put what mum has said too?, i would put "marks on x's back, pic enclosed, rang x.y and z, they said x, y and z, mum said she thinks blah bla.
no conclusion at present.
youve said in it, what mum'thinks' it is, but also at same time saying you are not agreeing with her!..if you have to show mum, i would leave off the bit about calling ss etc and put that on your

looneytune · 17/09/2007 14:21

Cheers PinkChick, I honestly don't think it's ciggy burns but it's so hard to know what to do isn't it!!! Well, after all those bloody phonecalls, I'm just to put what mum thinks it is and guess what she said at the end 'tell parents you've phoned us to check for advice' WTF - they don't make this easy do they, make you more likely to ignore things in future!!!

OP posts:
PinkChick · 17/09/2007 14:23

how awkward!, just put like i said Mum thinks its this and leave it at that!..again you 'could' put who you rang in personal file and not of incident form, they can ask to see it at anytime, but at present wont make it difficult and at least you HAVE logged it properly?

looneytune · 17/09/2007 15:19

Cheers, I'm just not willing to tell the parents I called, I only wanted a bit of advice!!!

Popped into Saz's house on the way back from school and she agreed she'd wonder what it was. When I mentioned on MSN earlier she thought it sounded like it could be impetigo but now she's seen it, she doesn't think so.

So, I'll have a photo, will write something in the record of concerns and put on the form that mum thinks it's infected mozzy bites!

Note to self.......don't bother with social services unless you really really have to!!!

OP posts:
looneytune · 17/09/2007 15:30

Mo - thanks for the advice, I will get some of those for other stains

Shosha - well done

Mumlove - oh yeah, the joys of the runs, I can't wait til ds starts school in Jan! I was telling LMG's the other day that I worked out that on Monday's and Tuesday's, I'm in and out of the car 7 times in total, so if you count each time I put children in AND out it's 14 times a day!!! I hate it, I really do, feel like we are never in one place long enough, roll on Jan!!!

Right, 2 sisters asleep upstairs now so I'm off to do snacks (not apples chopped with sharp pampered chef gizmo!!!!) and then hopefully I can make some lunch as I'm sooooooooo hungry. If only those bacon sarnies this morning were real!!!

Just emailed mum back and asked her if she'd like me to pop to the chemist tomorrow for advice in case it's something catching that needs cream

MaureenMLove · 17/09/2007 15:58

We walk to school as its only about 10 mins, but on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, I have different children in different after school clubs, who need picking up at 4.10. That means, I walk up to collect some at 3.10, home by 3.30, back out the door again at 4pm and home again! Last year I used to do an extra one, when another mindee was in nursery too, so the most trips I did in a day to and from was 4 times! Keeps ya fit though I suppose!

I'm done with mindees til tomorrow, just a little matter of 10 Rainbow Guides to deal with for the next couple of hours now! Hope tomorrow is a better day everyone!

looneytune · 17/09/2007 16:10

Glad it's not just me. I can't walk, it's impossible from where I am and it takes 10/15 mins each way in the car anyway. My problem is timings. LMG's said our toddler groups/drop ins are at crap times and I agree. I have nursery pick up at 11.30 which would be fine, it's the rushing to get them to have lunch and have naps by 2.30. We get back at 12 and I rush to make lunch and then feed baby whilst others are eating but by the time I can put them down for a nap, it's around 1pm and then big sister moans out for 45 mins and stops little sister from sleeping then she finally falls asleep around the time I have to wake her. BUT mum said it's fine to leave big sister and put her down AFTER the school run so we get back at 3pm and straight into bed she goes. Today was the first proper time doing this and she fell asleep in the car on the way back and stayed asleep when I put her in bed so FINGERS CROSSED this is the way to go. Just need to try and persuade toddler group to re-think opening times

God its been hectic today, painting this morning, then phonecall from new parents who want to come to see me tomorrow, and start on Monday, suddenly realised hadnt got a third bucket car seat so had to organise a new one, tryingto get hold of BT and been stuck on hold most of the day, then parents picked up all at the same time!!!! arggggggggggggggg

looneytune · 17/09/2007 18:12

Right, today just all went wrong, ended up with AF turning up so I've got at least another month of ttc HOWEVER, at least it means I can have a nice stiff drink tonight

Spoke to mum this evening and all signed off and agreed that I will take mindee to the chemist tomorrow to see what they say. I put on the form that we don't think it's an 'injury' but that we're not sure what it is, that I'll see the chemist tomorrow. So, NON COMMITAL

Well, they've gone now and I've finished early which is great although none of the diaries got done today.

Tomorrow is going to be a happy and much better day

By the way, would you have told parents you phoned social services for advice?????? Please tell me you wouldn't!
