Morning girls. here, no friday feeling chez Maureen. DH got his car broke into at work last night. Lost all his tools and some sensitive paper work that he'd collected from his engineers yesterday. Been awake most the night and not a happy bunny today. Need the morning to fly so that we can move on. one mindee til about 1 today, so that should help.

MamaG · 17/08/2007 08:35

oh Mo

what a shit thing to happen

MaureenMLove · 17/08/2007 08:53

Morning love, yes very shit. He was so worried all night about what his boss would say, he was up and dressed by 7.15 and that never happens. Boss was completely OK about it, shit happens, but when its you that has to make the call to the boss, its not nice. They're gonna see him alright with a bit of extra money next month to cover some of his tools, so thats something. Can't decide whether to claim on the house insurance now or even if its covered as its company car. Can't help thinking its not worth getting my premiums upped because I claim for a couple hundred worth of tools that most will be paid for my company.

LoveMyGirls · 17/08/2007 09:06

Oh MML that's horrible for you!! Im not amused either I promised the kids a day out, picnic is packed, I asked my mum to have dd2 so I could just take the bigger ones to this adventure science place and guess what!!??? My car wont start! My mum (who is an angel!) has offered to drive us somewhere else instead but the place we were going to is too far for her to take and collect us.

Hi all, I'm back from holiday. Having no net access for a week was murder!

Have I missed anything major on the boards, over the past week?

Mo... Sorry to hear about your DH's car, tools.

MaureenMLove · 17/08/2007 12:49

Er Nick, not much, no, very uneventful really. Oh no, hold on!....... Peters got a new heart!!!!!!!!!!
(Thanks about the car btw)

nannynick · 17/08/2007 12:59

Well that's good to hear. Will explore mumsnet to the thread all about that.

looneytune · 17/08/2007 13:37

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say a quick hello and wish all those off on hols, a happy holiday! .

Well it's been a nice sunny day (well, cloudy too but hey this is England isn't it! ). Had an easy day with baby, ds been a good boy, he must be up to something!!! Had a nice walk and now just sat down for lunch. Baby having another nap, should be asleep til 2ish then gets picked up around 3pm then it's the weekend!!! Mummykench is coming round to meet us today so that should be nice.

Oh.....I just have to send this to you.....Saz73 noticed it and sent it to me on msn....it's an ad for a replacement au pair (for those who know the story), they'd begged her back (she sent me emails)....reading.gumtree.com/reading/34/12553634.html What do you think? They've made it look like not much work, either they will do the same again or they will actually do some work themselves. The breakfast bit is a lie though, ex au pair was told the same and then ended up doing full cooked breakfasts whilst sorting the kids.

Right, best eat my sandwich whilst I have the peace and quiet

mumlove · 17/08/2007 14:13

Afternoon all, I am enjoying a lovely coffee while mindee is sleeping. We went to a park this morning then went to baiter (a grassy open area near the sea) to watch the red arrows that were flying at bournemouth. 1 came over us during their rountine and it was very noisy. The children loved it.
Well only 3 hours of work left.

looneytune · 17/08/2007 14:16

Oops, just realised I really shouldn't have posted that link, should have copied and pasted the write up - SH*T!!! Oh well, I hope none of you go ringing them or emailing them!!!

crace · 17/08/2007 14:23

LT, don't worry - none of us would! I don't know why we can't edit our posts though, most annoying!

crace · 17/08/2007 14:23

Can you contact MN and ask them to remove the thread?

looneytune · 17/08/2007 14:24

I know. I can't be bothered to get HQ to remove it, last time it took so long it wasn't a current thread anyway. Oh, baby woken up. See ya later

KaySamuels · 17/08/2007 14:31

Well I have had stressful day today following on from yesterday here

I text mum this morning to offer her my buggy to use while mindee has pot on, no reply, and just tried calling her at home, no reply. So either she is mad with me and ignoring me or still at hospital, either of which leave me feeling stressed out and worried. Have had to call my area co-ordinator, Ofsted CIE department, and have had to write out a full report and email it to them to read and get back to me.

KaySamuels · 17/08/2007 14:32

I second looneytune's sentiments to you off on your holidays.
Still I have haven to look forward to next easter I suppose.

sigh

crace · 17/08/2007 16:00

Well, hello - am free already but had a fab day going to our village cafe with a little boy I watch adhoc and adore.

His mum did tell me though that the c/m that just opened up or reregistered or something in the village MAY have a bit of a bad reputation. She's calling a friend who mentioned to find out the specifics but I really want to know so I don't pass out her info to enquiries I have to turn down! How frightening
