It is fantastic news, I will have to switch puter off soon as I keep telling one mindee that it's broken, otherwise we have a major meltown when I ask him to do anything else other than ply on the puter.

Henni - I never let mindees on the PC, and it's written into my policies as well, so I don't get that problem

'tis only this one mindee who would/does like to use the puter, the others are too young. The problem being that he has SN and I know that his parents let him use theirs for downtime for him. Have to say that so far this holiday he has managed very well without it!

The only time Mine have played on the PC was one 10 year old who spent all last summer in plaster from her hip down afer a op on her hip, but I bought her the Lemony Snicket game and she was only allowed it for a hour at a time, with at least a hour between, but it was so unfair for her the pthers were on the trampoline and in the pool, and she had to just sit there so thought it would be a treat for her, she actually spent 10 weeks unable to walk so it was worth it (and she thought it was hilarious that I couldnt play it!)

What can I do today with children aged, 22mths, 6 and 2 8yr olds? It's raining the activity at the muesum is rubbish for today, i'm shattered because i was up with dd2 in the night.

Yes, great news about Peter

Well it's first day back for the sisters and I'm bricking it after a phone call i got last night. They were a few hours away from home, driving back at planned time and they'd had b&b guests calling saying no one at home for past 48 hours. Mum asked if I'd seen au pair and of course I said no . Now I'm worried about ds saying something as she babysat for us Sat night. Oh well, I've told ds to hide upstairs and i'll get the toddler to come and find him so he's excited about that and is going to stay very quiet he said - I bloody hope so!!! Oh well, the last few days has taken my mind of TTC so that's one good thing!

Mindees and computers....err.....I won't let them anymore. I used to let the mindee ds's age play but it was hand/eye co-ordination games with me sat next to her, wouldn't let her on her own. Anyway, no I have 2 laptops for childminding (educational stuff) but most of my lot are too young and the 3 year old isn't interested after school (TT only).

LMG's - you wanting indoor activities or go out? If out, if it was me we'd go soft play. If indoors, how about what Pinkchick did (hope got right person) and make a big picture of summer due to it being do dull and miserable outside? Have you got tissue paper or coloured card?

LMgs get some cards we have snap, Old Maid and Go fish, kids dont play cards anymore and they think it is great.

Or set them on a treasure hunt, give them clues to find things,my older ones loved that last year.

Build a camp under a table, thay will play for hours.

LMG's - ok, less messy......you got board games? or something like Twister? I'm not very good with the older ones as it's been nearly 2 years since I had after school age (just recently agreed to start with older ones again)

well ive promised all the LO soft play today whcih is a good 30 walk with them all..i have text all parents as king for wet weather and spare clothes..should we have a bet who actually brings any! and how many LO's will be sat in vest and pants with clothes on radiators this afty

Or set the dining chairs in a line give the lead child a round tray as a steering wheel ask them to go on holiday, (yes a bit young but you would be surprised how much older ones love playing this game, and you would be surprised where they 'drive'to and LO can join in well with this one.

Morning all, I will stick to coffee please to wake me up. I feel so tired this morning, I don't think I slept well all I could think of was misdee and peter. Hopefully we will get news after lunch.

Well mindees and DD have the thomas trains all over the lounge, but are playing nice so that helps. Will do some pictures later and if they are good will get the glue out for sticking.
Not sure of the weather for today, dry but very windy at the moment. We will have to try and have a walk after yesterdays wash out.

Yeah, what Shoshable said (again!).....can also pretend it's an airplane and take it in turns to be the pilot. I did this once when ds was young and he went in a car seat, all strapped in and then had this plastic steering wheel toy to fly the plane

They are drawing at the mo, very happy so will wait until they are looking for something else to do while i load myself with coffee!

I'm curtain twitching atm. Want another cuppa but worried they'll arrive whilst I'm making it. Want to make sure ds is deffo upstairs and hiding well before I answer the door

LMGs find empty boxes, toy boxes are good, get the children to draw and colour in wheels and a steering wheel, stick them on to the boxes, load boxes up with dolls/teddies/whatever and hey-presto, they've made cars for their toys!

we just love imagination games in this house. I had my friends kids yesterday and the ds and the one same age both spent hours dressing up and playing pretend games.......went on holiday, had pretend party (wrapped toys from playroom in paper and tape and those were the presents), got married , had a tea party etc etc etc.....it was great! Ds and other mindee (3) also like to put blankets on the floor and pretend it's a....swimming pool....crocodile lake.....all sorts!!

Now then, do I send dd's Polly Pocket back or not? What's in it for me, do I get any money back. Thing is,she's nearly 12, so pretty unlikely to swallow a magnet, but on the other hand if she doesn't play with it anymore, she could have something else with the money!
Got mindee aged 8 today and we're going to an art exhibition this afternoon. He loves his art, so we're going to the local art groups exhibition. (My mum runs it and I'm doing the teas apparently!) This morning, dd has informed me that she's doing gluing and sticking with him. They're going to make something big I'm, told. I will do my best cm bit and sit with them all morning. How convenient then, that the pc is in the same room as the table! I'll be able to keep up with Misdee & Peter and txt Kbear at work with news! Happy days!
