Oh yeah.......we LOVE junk modelling too. Best thing we've made (imo) is probably table and chairs for teddies tea party (just used kitchen rolls and cut up old pampers box - great fun and ds loves seeing that photo

Anyone recommend a good cheap place to get more plastic boxes? They need to have lids and I like the clear ones so you can see what's in. We got a great set of 4 from Homebase a year or 2 ago but I can't find them now Any idea's would be great!

Morrisons, if you have one near you. 2 for just under a tenner I think. These ones have got coloured lids and they actually clip on. They are (Mo measures the one she has to hand!) 45cm x35cm and 25cms deep!

LT you can do the cartd on line, just printit off abd take with you ness docs, (it tells you on the site, you dont need a VAT number, but do need a reciept over £50.00, I used my buggy reciept)

That almost the same, but mine have got differehnt colouted lids. But £15 for 5 is very good. I find boxes any bigger than that are a pita. These ones are perfect for having themed boxes. Ie baby toys, cars, lego, dolls train set. It means you can just get one box out, in the knowledge that everything is in there.

Mo - same here. I've got one really big one which has all my dressing up hats, shoes, bags etc etc in but the rest are smaller and it's great to just get 'the wooden train set' or the 'messy play' bits out etc. I've already got several boxes (aswell as storage draws) but I just keep needing more!! I'd prefer coloured lids as got those already but must say, these seem good price.

Why do people (MY MUM) think that because I work from home she can ring up for a chat anytime? and then sounds really offended when I say I can't talk because I'm working? She could even hear the mindees squabling in the background!!

Have you got a answer phone, put a message on it, saying something like 'Unless this is a emergancy, please do not ring between 8-5 as at this time although I am at home, Iam working' in a very frim manner, and then dont answer the phone, my grown up DS is like that as well!

henni - I used to get that all the time, so I stopped answering my phone during the day - I got my mindees parents and school to contact me on mobile if it was an emergency. She then started getting stepdad to send text messages. I just told her "I am working, not sitting around on my ar*e all day waiting for people to call me"

Just feeling hormonal at the moment, feel even worse as I've just worked out that I've got another 14 days until AF. I will be snapping at any family member now as it will only get worse. Need to get back on supplements again me thinks!

Well, kids are here and I played it well. Ds was hiding upstairs and shouting so I made it quick saying 'ok, when xya has gone, we'll take shoes off and come and find you'. I quickly said 'sooo, what happened, everything ok?' and she told me that she got email saying au pair treated like slave etc. She said that she thinks Friday's B&B guests put her off as they can be a bit rowdy. Anyway, Left it like that. Phew. Hope she never discovers who I am on here. Wonder if I should change my name again? Doubt that will help anything though.

Right, back to it.............

At home at the mo. i have 4 year old a 18 month old and a 8 month old (the baby is in bed) The 4 year old has had teh playroom to herself this morning she has had had out all the things the LO's are not allowed, she has done everything she has wanted, (she usually is allowed to have her time first thing if we dont go out) I can see her from the Living Room and can talk to her all the time, anyway, she decided to come play with the 18month old as she had the picnic stuff out, she then preceeded to take everything off the younger child, and when she was told that she had to share had a tantrum, crying and stamping her feet, this is the child till about a year ago was the easiest of children, she was also the youngest here, and I think this is the reason for the tantrums, she is not keen on the younger ones, and likes to be centre of the adults attention, What do I do, we are having these tears at least twice a day, because she has to share something or because I have said she has to do something, she starts school in September, and is really excited about going.

Aw Shosha it's hard when they transit from being the 'baby' to being 'one of the crowd'. Just keep plugging away ie 'in Shosha's house we share nicely' blah blah blah. I have found stickers (used sparingly) can have a really positive effect, plus of course ignore the screeching.

I think i find it so hard with this one because she is extreamly bright, can read and write already, and understands what you saty to her perfectly, and was always a 'good' child, but just seems at the moment to resort to tears everytime she cant get her own way, saying that we had agood day yesterday, but the baby was away and DH was here who she adores.

I think her nose is a bit put out of joint! I bet once she's at school, things will change. Hang in there, only 3 more weeks to go!

I know just having a bit of a maon really, DH is on leave and needed the car the last few days so have been stuck in all day, cabin fever i do believe, but taking him and GDG out for chinese tonight for DH birthday, its not till 9 sept but he will be away then so going now.

Afternoon - had busy morning with baby mindee and ds, had a mum come with her daughter too, wants before and after school care few days a week and school hols. Was really nice.

Does anyone else find first meetings really stressful? I get uberanxious, clean everything, rant at dp to clean and tidy, print out policies and worry from phone call to visit! Gah!

I hate people judging me, Kay! I'm perfectly happy about my abilities to childmind, its the house I worry about! I always think they're going to look for dust or look at the ironing pile or think my decorating it gross! Then once we get a bit chatty about general things, after we've done the important stuff, my mouth goes into overdrive and I think, 'ooh, maybe I shouldn't have told her about that night out when I got really drunk!

Mineis the house too, and a tendency to waffle! Have never had a 'bad' visit so don't know why I get so anxious!

Just in case any of you missed it on the other thread, Peter came through his operation, misdee was a bit late in finding out, but at least everything seems to be ok

I had a lady phone today arranged to come at 1.30 and NADA, she just didnt turn up, didnt call, rejected my phonecalls - im very annoyed, as if i need winding up whilst its school hols, honestly some people!
