Here too - so much for the picnic I was planning. So so so sick of this weather!

Earthymama · 03/07/2007 09:08

The sun was glorious at 7 am, I opened the blinds and drank my tea while soaking up the light. It's starting to get cloudy now and the forecast for Wales is appalling. I'm losing the will to go on!

I'm going to have 10 yr old twins for a couple of days a week over the summer; I'm really looking forward to it but in my imagination we are outdoors most of the time. I have a feeling the reality is going to be rather different so I need to start planning now!!

Friends are coming for dinner tonight; usually in the summer we dine outside as we are in a valley, and to sit in the garden as the sun goes down behind the mountains is one of the greatest pleasures of my life. We've eaten outside twice this year so far; when it was nice in April we were busy in the allotment til late.

Oh for a gin and tonic in the evening sun!!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 09:32

Morning. It is getting really boring now isn't it? The speed that the clouds appear is amazing. Last night, it was glorious sunshine here and within minutes there was so much water falling out of the sky, there was almost a stream running down our road. I've got the two littlies today as well, so where ever I go it has to be on foot.

crace · 03/07/2007 10:46

It is boring - am so sick of it. The heavens have just opened for the last hour and now the fields will be soaking so no outdoor picnic for us.

Just had a pan lid musical - now off to find the headache pills Bless them, all three girls were in fits of giggles and bashing the heck out of the lids. Good fun!

LoveMyGirls · 03/07/2007 11:34

Weather isn't too bad here but i'm not having a great day tbh, i'm in pain (i think i've mentioned it a few times now) and the new boy who started yesterday (after i turned away a customer wanting more hours at the weekend) has not turned up, apparently his mum has left her job and didnt even phone to let me know. Sooooooooo............at least i will get some peace when the 2 i have got go to bed in about 30mins and hopefully the lady i turned away will still need someone... i hope!!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 11:42

Hi LMG, I left you these on your other thread last night - did you see? Welcome back! Sorry your face is hurting Have you tried alternating paracetamol with codine every 2 hours. That way you've got relief every two hours without overdosing!
Bummer about the woman who left her job - how rude!

alison222 · 03/07/2007 11:58

Rain has stopped here temporarily.

I just collected from nursery and mindee made me a card with a picture of me and DD saying "I love you " inside

Awww!!!

LoveMyGirls · 03/07/2007 12:00

Aww theyre gorgeous and just what i need to cheer me up, thank you!!

I know, i'm annoyed i turned that lady away now and i had agreed to meet her last night but i cancelled as i realised he didnt do enough hours at nursery for me to take him as over 5 (thats what u get for calling people back after being under anaestetic (sp?))

So back to the drawing board looking for customers at the mo i only have 1 pt under 5 and 1 after schooler i'm £1,300 overdrawn and will have to work an evening job if i don't get something soon!!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 12:08

Get some advertising up quick. This is just the right time for people to start looking for September. Hope you get something soon.

LoveMyGirls · 03/07/2007 12:36

Thanks for the positive support.

I've got a few things in the pipeline for later in the year so it's not all doom and gloom but I really wanted to fill the space sooner rather than later as we are going on holiday (my mum has paid for us to go away with her in a caravan for a week - before you all think that's where the money has gone) and i'd like to take some spending money without feeling guilty that i am badly overdrawn.

I know it can turn around very quickly, I will be on a mad advertising campaign as soon as I can and see what happens

fifilou · 03/07/2007 12:48

hi!

B1 and 2 break up from scholl tomo for 8 wks. oh god. yes 8 wks!

I'm actually quite looking forward to it!

I'm still feeling rougher than that bird from eastenders, dont know whats going on.

LMG- you poor love. Why is it hurting? what did i miss?

Mo- i need cake, i need cake, i need cake. Help!

Shosh, crace, the weather is nice here at the mo. My boss just popped off to wimbledon with a client (what a hard job!) im off to a swimming gala in a bit. B1 made me promise not to do my little cheerleading routine or in his words ' i will die fi, just die'

LoveMyGirls · 03/07/2007 13:04

8 weeks!!!! I'm wondering what we'll be doing for 6 weeks!

I had 2 wisdom teeth taken out under GA in hosp on thu hence the pain.

We need to start a things to do in hols thread don't we? What with the rain it's not going to be easy. Thats the one good thing about this new mindee leaving at least it gives me a bit more flexibility with what to do in the hols.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 13:06

Hi Fifi, This one looks a bit good!
Still not feeling the full ticket? I take it we've ruled out the obvious?

alison222 · 03/07/2007 13:09

LMG Do you think you could get temporary stuff over the summer hols if you advertised at the schools? I can't beleive someone would just not turn up and not tell you. Did you have a deposit or fees in advance to soften the blow?

And I obvoiusly missed something - what happened to your face?

I'm hoping the sun here holds out so I can get all my after schoolies to the allotment to pick fruit on the way home. Bet it starts t rain at 3 though. Maybe I should do the trip now.

fifilou · 03/07/2007 13:09

OMG LMG!

I can totally sympathise as i had one taken out last year and ouch!

Listen- this is so important, make sure you done get something called a dry socket, it hapened to me and was hell. Its when the clotted blood dislodges and you get a dy socket. It then gets infected. gross. They put iodine in my dry socket and it tasted so bad i cried like a baby. Also the bone was exposed. youch. Just make sure you eat soup and very soft food for as long as you can bare too. Rinse your mouth daily with salt water (gross but aids heling/prevents infection.

also, use nurofen with codine, you can get thwem from boots. I also found a warm beany bear (a bean teddy that you pop in the microwave t warm up) was heaven on my cheeks.

It took me 3 wks to be back to normal but that was because of my crappy dry socket. you shuld be right in a week or two if you take care. Dont do too much. chill out as much as you can.

Poor you!

I hope ive not worried you, i just wanted to help!

fifilou · 03/07/2007 13:14

mo- cheers for the cake! I could eat it all in one go.

Have teste for the obvoius now 3 times and BFN.

Went to docs today, she was so lovely,I told her my symptoms and she said it sounded as if it was the obvious which then totally confused me as id told her id had 3 BFN already! she said i must keep testing weekly! blimey! I'll be skint!

My ear infection is still not better too, am on a waiting list for the repair of my ear drum which scares me to death!

Im in a bit of a pickle!

Oh poo.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 13:44

I didn't get a positive for nearly a month. Actually, when I had dd, i still had AF for nearly 4 months!

crace · 03/07/2007 13:50

Fifi, mysterious - what are your symptoms? And are you late, or...? I assume this would be a good thing? Fingers and toes all crossed for you

LMG - doesn't sound like a picnic for you at all -hope mouth feels better soon. I had it done when I was 17 and I still remember how awful it was - I was on heavy duty painkillers and it still hurt!

mogs0 · 03/07/2007 13:54

What's BFN and AF?

mogs0 · 03/07/2007 13:55

Weather is ok here. Had a tiny bit of rain earlier. It keeps going very grey though. I'm sure it'll be raining by 3!!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 13:56

Haha! Check out the acronyn list at the top of the page!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 13:58

Oh, BFN isn't there, but BFP is, so it should be self explanitory!!!!!

mogs0 · 03/07/2007 14:00

No wonder I couldn't figure them out myself!!

mumlove · 03/07/2007 14:05

I am sitting here drinking coffee when I should have been watching sports day, but it's cancelled.
We keep getting heavy showers then blue skies. Last years got cancelled because it was too hot, can't the world get anything right.

LMG I have answered you on your other thread, the more I read about your pain the more I think I can feel it.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 14:05

i do that sometimes! Took me months to work out what an lo was, its not on the list!
