i'm new here so no one knew!

I had a good crowd though and I raised over 1500 for whizz-kidz who provide customised wheelchairs for disbled kids.

i was soooooooooooooo knackered, and the drink stations ran out mile 6 - 9 which caused me to dehydrate bdaly and get cramp. I ran the first 15, cried at 16, walked with dawn from eastenders to 19, saw my friends anf family and b1 and b2 with their parents and a big banner, and then ran/hobbled the rest.

At mile 23 i was crying, and people were so brilliasnt giving me water, sweets and fruit and saying 'come on fi, not long noe love' it was the hardest thing ive ever done, and i cant wait to do it again!

I'm aiming to do it next year too!

My time is too embarassing to pirnt, but i finished, got my medal and goody bag.thats all that matters!!!

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 13:50

Mate, the fact that you did it and I didn't is the biggest embarrassment! I am absolutely on awe of anyone who does it. I was just passed the ship formally known as Cutty Sark!!! And then again at Island Gardens. I actually only live about 10 minutes from part of the race, but we go up to Greenwich for the nice food before & after the runners have gone through!

crace · 22/05/2007 13:52

fifi - wow, that is fantastic! Well done you

Mo - you are going to be loving the weather here, it's roasting (ok, well pleasantly warm) here today, and hopefully it's staying that way for you.

I leave Sunday for America, anyone have any tips for travelling with a very very very active 17 mo?

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 13:58

Thanks Crace, I'm packing my bikini as we speak - NOT! What's that medicine that some people rave about? Something starting Feni.... I think? Aparently, it knocks kids out if you give them enough - that'll work!!
Note to anyone who is not a full memeber of this staff room - This is a joke and I would never really do it!!!!!

fifilou · 22/05/2007 13:58

you live near?

hey, im gutted about the cutty sark! I always take banana1 and banana2 there in the summer for pirate picnics!

I live south east london way!

That bit was hard because you couldnt see the sark as it was all plastic covered up, also people were drinking beer in the sunshine...it was so so hard, i wanted to stop for a pint!!!!

I would tell anyone to do it now, it was such an amazing experience, very emotional, and so brilliant.

I was slightyl smug for at least two weeks after.

fifilou · 22/05/2007 14:00

crace,

sainsburys do really cheap but cool activity books. Great for travelling! B1 and B2 were into them even at that age!

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:02

Rather not say exactly, as I know there are people on here from my school and I want to remain reasonably anonymous! It would take long for them to work me out from the staff room!! But I am south of the river too.

fifilou · 22/05/2007 14:04

as this is a staff room, can we lock the door?

Eulusis is getting on her high horse again and i want to hide!!!!!!

( see nanny contract thread)

My dh reckons she is a secret nanny spie out to get all lovely nannies that get paid well, and replace them with cheapere versions form abroad!!

te heeeeeeeee!

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:08

Have you met MamaG yet? She likes to crawl under the window and peek in to see if she can nick our secret stash of booze! Bless her, she's good for a laugh.

KaySamuels · 22/05/2007 14:08

Hi everyone
Been at playgroup this morning then nursery run now ds and mindee having a jolly good play and potter around. Mindee has planted his apple pips in the garden - he's convinced they will grow bless him!

I've got some 'builders' tea bags if anyone is up for a cuppa!

fifilou · 22/05/2007 14:10

yes pls, milk one sugar. ta.v .much.

mo? I think I saw her crawling past army style a few days ago.

kay- b1 and b2 plant any and evry seed they come across.......they grow sometimes and they get soooooooo excited about it.

conkers are great!

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:13

Ooo, builders tea, just what the doctor ordered! {Mo helps herself to a cup} Mindee still sleeping. She usually has about 2 hours, so that should see me upto school time. Don't have to go to school til 4.20 today - after school clubs.

fifilou · 22/05/2007 14:18

i'm off to school in a while. I love the school run as I get all the goss!

its funny, but they seem to think I know evrything already (mums) and start yapping away about other mums, its brilliant! i get some right juicy stuff..some are worse than nannies!

i also miss b1 and b2 so much in the day, that i get all excited at seeing them! nuts?

Crazy bonkers, but they are just lovely. Its why im still here after 6 1/2 yrs!

i really shouldnt do all my jobs in the first hours of my day should I? it leaves me with too much time to come here!

i have done all of my essays now too, im so good........can i have a biscuit? Ive been especially good.

crace · 22/05/2007 14:22

Mo - you know something about knocking them out, you tell me! (only kidding, of course )

Traded one 2 year old for another, however this one systematically destroys everything in his path so off to rescue my home.

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:25

{Mo looks longingly at the biscuits} I like the school run too, but I'll miss it today. They'll only be a handfull of peopl ein the playground at 4.30 and since its a mindee I'm collecting, I don't really know many of them.

fifilou · 22/05/2007 14:27

here mo have a biccy!

right......off to cook tea befre school run!

(spag bol!)

see you all soon!

crace · 22/05/2007 14:29

Mo - remember it's a virtual biscuit, so indulge

We're doing spag bol here too yum

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:31

Yeah Crace! I'm not sure what it called, but I have heard so many people at school talk about, when they are taking little ones on the plane. Lord knows what happened to good old fashioned, paying them some attention and they might stop screaming!!! Its something like fenigrig I think. I honestly dont know! My dd is 11 anyway, I just tell her to button it!

dmo · 22/05/2007 14:33

NCMA have just phoned they are going to help me
i dont use the NCMA contracts but they will still help, firstly i have to write a letter to the mum addressing her complants and forward a copy of the letter to NCMA then wait for a responce, if fees are not paid then NCMA will take legel action for me

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:33

If anyone wants me - I'll be in the biscuit tin!! {Mo wipes the chocolate off her chin!}

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2007 14:35

HAH! What's the betting you've just called her bluff and you have your money within a fortnight!!{grin}

crace · 22/05/2007 14:39

OMG - I google'd it - it's Benadryl to make your kids sleepy on the plane. Parents must be INSANE to do this - people drug their children??? Honestly would rather her scream the plane down than drug her, honestly

crace · 22/05/2007 14:39

dmo - fab fab fab news

KaySamuels · 22/05/2007 14:42

The medicine is fennigans, think they interogate you nowadays if you buy it. My sil (who I would describe as old school) offered to pick me some up when ds was teething I politely declined !!

KaySamuels · 22/05/2007 14:43

dmo - just read your post, bet she sees letter and pays up, have my fingers crossed for you!
