Trial half day with a Nanny - what to do?

I'm having a trial day with a Nanny next week. I've never employed a Nanny before so wondering what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. My son is 4 months old.

Sorry, I should say, why we initially tried to use a book system for feedback...

genidif, my nanny diary has been going strong and fileld in daily for the past 9 months (the amount of time ive been in my current job)

to be fair in my old job (and i left after the chidlren were all at school full time) i did write in it less....

typically all i would write in is the meals given, miles driven, and expenses.... which would then be self explanatory of what we did... if swimming pool entry was £5... well clearly we had been swimming

I & all of my friends have filled in Diaries daily for at least the first year or so of our charges lives in great detail & later just the bare essentials.

i've been writing a dialy dary for my charges for 7 years!

I write it as if they had written it and they love me to reed out days form years ago when they were babies!

its a great communication tool, parents know what they have been up to, how much things cost, any accidents, meals, toileting etc.

i stick in photos, tickets, drawings too, it makes a great keepsake.

It does take up a bit of time, but then i always think the time it takes to write is the time you would spend talking to the parents about their childs day anyway! I just say hello to them when they arrive home, chat briefly about any problems and say 'its all in the diray!' which both parents prefer as the children are depserate to have them all to themselves rsather than us gassing away about what they have been up to!
