Was your less than an hour inspection a very first before registering or a proper inspection with mindees? If proper then yours was short but maybe because they check every year. Mine was about 3-4 hours long. Ratings are now:

Inadequate
Satisfactory
Good
Outstanding

thanks, it was a proper inspection with mindees, been registered for 3 yrs.

I'd say we just work different then so they do more regular inspections but they are shorter.

my inspector arrived just before 10 and left at about 12.45.

She said that if anything hadnt been quite right they would inspect sooner but as she was happy that I was doign well they leave it 3 years.

I heard if we are inspected and have had no requirements/reccommendations for 3 years we will be inspected less often,but not totally sure about it.I'm due mine as i had to cancel due to hosp appt so waiting for cc officer to phone and rearrange.

As I understand it, OFSTED will inspect more often if there are any concerns about your practice that might need checking, and they will certainly visit more often if you've had a complaint made (no - I do not speak from personal experience!!)

I wonder whether getting a few hours notice and the horrendous panic and stress for those few hours would be better than having a week's notice?? I've been making notes of all the things that I think I ought to have in place just in case The Phone Call happens to me that quickly.

On reflection Im really pleased it happened the way it did. It was intense and stressful but Im so glad I dont have to give it a thought now. Its all done and dusted!

How long does report take to come?
