THREE WEEKS! I was still bleeding at 3 weeks. Whoa.

It is possible, tho.

missycantstop · 16/08/2005 21:34

started having unprotected sex since he was a week old. (only bled a few days) had it at least 6 times. basically i hadn't decided what protection i wanted to use as i fell pregnant on the mini pill, the jab makes me bleed the combined pill makes me sick and have an allergy to condoms.

no im not breastfeeding. tried it 3 times but he would rather have a bottle. shame as he has bad colic.
do you think a test will show in a week? no idea when/if a period will arrive.

As far as I have been told after having four of them, you can fall pregnant nearly straight away after you have given birth as you are at your most fertile (for some reason).

Littlestarsweeper · 16/08/2005 23:26

sex after 3 weeks, whooaa, unthinkable.

mumxfour · 16/08/2005 23:38

yep Littlestarsweeper I could not make love till I was about 9 weeks after as I had an infection and was still bleeding till 6 weeks and then after was not ready till 9 weeks on......

ghost · 16/08/2005 23:56

mumxfour · 17/08/2005 00:18

sweetkitty · 17/08/2005 08:58

think I was about 8 weeks, stitches and 6 weeks of bleeding yuck! Got my periods back straight away too 4 weeks after post birth bleed finished so could have got pregnant again and that was with BFing.

Think DP was too traumatised to even suggest it!

missycantstop · 17/08/2005 11:58

i must have got lucky. few days of bleeding and no stitches. (this is 3rd time lucky for me they have all been like this) how quickly has anyone fallen pregnant after childbirth?

Missycantstop - sorry if this is a bit of a personal question but do you really want to take the risk of getting pg so soon again? Even if there is a remote possibility of getting pg (which there definitely is) wouldnt it be a good idea to use condoms or something just in case?

missycantstop · 17/08/2005 15:20

really i would like my kids close together. im only 19 and so far have 3. this way i have my life ahead of me. i will be 34 when my eldest is 18. have you not read all this thread? i explained why i cant use certain types of protection. (not having a go and hope i dont sound rude)

Wow, you must be very fertile! I know of someone who was found to be pregnant at their 6 week check so be careful. I could only just manage to have sex the night before mine!

missycantstop · 17/08/2005 22:07

hi talking of 6 week checks what do they do? i have never been to any of my checks and am due to go in 3 weeks.

OP posts:
mumtosomeone · 17/08/2005 22:11

6 week check for mum is just a chat now and a smear test at about 3months

missycantstop · 17/08/2005 22:15

thank you.

Rachey1969 · 18/08/2005 10:26

I haven't had a 6 week check for 7 years so I might be out of date but they feel your tummy to make sure your uterus has gone down and I have always had my ladyparts (ie stitches) checked for my own peace of mind!

mumtosomeone · 18/08/2005 10:35

well they check your uterus at each visit dont they?
I had no physical test with my last 2

Rachey1969 · 18/08/2005 10:39

Maybe I'm out of date - but it's your GP rather than a midwife who does it and it's a kind of 'are you back to normal?' check - personally I really wanted to know my stitches had healed properly.

Mum2girls · 18/08/2005 10:45

sex after childbirth? no thanks .

mumtosomeone · 18/08/2005 10:45

I can understand that! luckily I didnt have stitches with last 2!!
But now the smear etc is left till later
