shhhh · 30/09/2005 14:36

3 weeks ..... I Think dh daren't ask.!

Mojomummy · 30/09/2005 14:50

3 weeks well, good on you. Took us 6 months, even that was more of a tentative prod!!

evansmummy · 04/10/2005 22:36

I didn't think sex after childbirth existed.

beetlejuice73 · 04/10/2005 22:48

My GP was clearly appalled when i asked him for the mini-pill a couple of weeks after giving birth. I had to point out that I'd had a short labour with no tears or stitches, so why not. But this is the same idiot who advised me to give honey to a 3 month-old for constipation.

LadyCodofCodford · 04/10/2005 22:50

this is a trol s isnt it a 19 year old with three kids who only tried bf three times....

FrightfullyPoshFloss · 04/10/2005 23:12

3 weeks after childbith? The phrase 'Get that thing away from me' springs to mind

dizietsma · 09/10/2005 22:06

Jeez... you're enthusiastic! DD is 10 weeks old, I didn't tear and I reckon we've only managed sex 4 times or so.

My midwife told me of a woman she was looking after who became pregnant at 3 weeks, so yes it certainly can happen.

This is most certainly none of my business, but I'd recommend waiting at least a year between babies. Studies have shown that you increase your chances of low birth weight, sickly babies if you leave less than a year between pregnancies. The idea is to let your body recover before putting it under the strain of another pregnancy.

Roxswood · 10/10/2005 21:37

We were back having sex when dd was 10 days old.
It was fine. I had a small second degree tear but no stitches.. I'm ashamed to say we didn't use contraception beyond the withdrawal technique but since we had needed fertility treatment to get pregnant the first time round, and I was exclusively breastfeeding I felt the odds were low of getting pregnant.
I had the coil inserted at 8 weeks after giving birth and its been excellent, not having to even think about birth control is just brill!

ThomBat · 10/10/2005 21:54

Just asked D as couldn't quite remember but we think it was about day 6-10ish, certainly no longer than that.

projectmanagerCOd · 10/10/2005 21:55

god werent you all knackered?
if ind htis sooooo odd

ThomBat · 10/10/2005 21:59

I wasn't knackered no. I'd had a 6 hour labour a week or so ago, not just run the marathon! I wasn't hanging from the light fitting, it was just loving sex, it was great, nothing odd in that.

projectmanagerCOd · 10/10/2005 21:59

iwas too buys cryin copint wiht piles and stictches and sore boobs

ThomBat · 10/10/2005 22:03

piles and sore boobs yes, stitches no, that might have made the world of difference. Plus I'd spent 5 days in hospital with Lottie so was rested and had massively missed D so........

KiwiKate · 11/10/2005 09:23

mum was bf after having my eldest brother & was pg again within weeks - much to her shock - as she thought it was too soon to fall pg! So it does happen!!!

Blossomhowl · 25/10/2005 19:26

I personally would wait until the 6 week check as will alaways have etched in my memory the woman that died after having sex so soon after giving birth .

highlander · 26/10/2005 11:54

wait until the 6 week check? Wait until sprog sleeps through the night more like.......... (poor DH, it was a long, long wait)

acnebride · 26/10/2005 12:03
