Length of time in hospital after c-section?

That's it really. How long did you stay in after a c-section? Was it your choice to stay that long or did they make you? What is the earliest anyone has gone home?

I had DS (Emergency CS) at 1am Saturday morning and was home by 6pm Sunday. I asked if I could go and as they were so busy they readily agreed!

It's 2 days here too. But day 1 is the day of delivery so in my case it was a 12hr stay as day 1 started at 10pm and day 2 started 2hrs later.

DD had neither bfed nor pooed. I hadn't had a wee. They'd have been more efficient if they'd had an actual conveyer belt and a 'fuck off we're busy' sign.

I had DC1 by emergency section in Monday evening and didn't go home until Saturday lunch time.

I had a really horrible time and for subsequent babies I left as soon as I could.

I'm late to this thread but thought i'd add my experience.
CS sat morning (6am) and out sun pm, no probs. They were more than happy for me to stay but i was happier to go.
Twas a planned emergency cs tho, if you see what i mean, so i was in pretty good shape.

I had lots of support and help at the hospital and quite enjoyed talking to the other mums on the ward. They wanted to send me home after 3 days but I pleaded for another night- in my defence I hadn't been very well.

24 hours with both DS1 and 2. First time around I assumed they were just after my bed, but second time round it seemed to be policy. It's also policy at our hospital to keep c-section patients on the main ward, no private rooms for safety (bleeding? clots?) reasons

Emergency C-Section 3 days of horror mostly spent unable to move much due to pain and pipes but being moaned at to get out of bed and breast feed, look after the baby and stuff.

Was given tonnes of smarties a day and still am, Paracetamol, ibuprofen, codeine, iron tablets and some injection in the tummy.

I still have tonnes of paracetamol, ibuprofen, iron to take and 6 more injections to do.

1st c-section...in 4 nights (own room, far better than ward)

2nd c section...in 9 nights (was very ill after a traumatic section and further surgery for massive hemorrhage) (HDU first 3 days and then own room for rest)

3rd section...in 2 nights (ward, awful, got no sleep at all, at least one baby was crying at any time or noisy visitors all day long).
