What time of day did your labour start?

Yep... another question I'm afraid ;)
A lot of the posts I read seem to mention going into labour in the early hours of the morning. Is this usual?

All 3 of mine started around 11pm - midnight.

There is a theory that we instinctively go into labour after nightfall as it is safer to labour overnight in the dark in your cave then give birth as it is getting light. less chance of your new baby being attacked by predators. Although we obviously don't live in caves any more we are still programmed to do it.

No idea if its true though!

3am for both of mine.

DS - 8.30am, Born 12.29pm
DD - 11.15am, Born 3.11pm

Midnight for one and 8am (well that was when I woke up ) for the other.

Waters broke 11pm, born 3.15am

Dd1 waters broke at about 3am sunday morning she was born at 2 minutes past midnight monday morning.

Dd2 woke up with contractions about 4am friday she was born at 5.30pm Friday

Hmmm.... definitely seeing a night-time theme here ;)

Early morning, both times.

1am or thereabouts. I had ds at 5.55am that morning

waters broke with an audible sound (was going to put "ping" but that's not quite right) at midnight just about exactly. DD born about 10.50 am.

Can't remember state of the moon.... isn't that supposed to affect things?

DD1 - 12am born 4.22am
DD2 - 1.30am born 4am
DD3 - 2.50am born 4.25am

I seem to have babies at 4am

now if I could have

DS - 4am born 4.15am that would be nice

DD1 - 1am, born 8pm same day
DD2 - 8am, born 10.30 am
DS1 - 8pm, born 10.30 pm

LOL at sweetkitty. DD2 timed it well though - at the start of DD1's 3 days in nursery.

Wwaters broke at 10pm, born 5.31am

Back pain started at 5am, contractions at 7am, waters broke at 1.30pm, baby born at 10.45pm.

Both of mine started at around 3am. DS1 was born at 4.23 pm and DS2 was born at 11.57 am.

My 1st started around midnight...contractions bought on from sex...the contractions faded by morning and then backache all day and the odd tightening and then the contractions started again that evening and went to hospital at 9pm and was 3cm dilated.

With all the rest i was induced and c-sections.

Ds 1pm, born 04.30am next day.

Low level contractions from 9pm on Saturday (I was able to doze a bit overnight).

Proper contractions started from about 9am on Sunday and DS born at 8.59pm that evening.

All 3 of mine started at 2am, virtually on the dot! dd1 born 6am, dd2 born 5.40am, ds born 6.40am

DD1 3am - born 7.30am same morning

DD2 11pm ish - born 1.30am that night

DD - 5.15pm, born 11.14pm
DS - 5.15pm, born 2.19am

Waters broke one week early at 3am, DS born naturally at 8:21pm that night

Woke up in bed with fire in my loins and realised that all my panicking about braxton hicks was misplaced! So started at 6am ish, got my son to school, active labour and in the pool at 4, baby born at 7pm.

erm my baby was pre-term so although it started at 3 pm on Monday they managed to stop it; only for it start again on the wednesday around 3 30 am.

DD1 at 10.30pm (born 4.25am)
DD2 at 2.30am (born 5.55am)

they do like to keep us up all night don't they
