...I think. I currently sat on my own, waiting for DH to come home from work, terrifed. Please lie tell me it'll be fine... (and shouldn't it have started hurting by now?)

Oooh, fantastic!
FWIW - my waters broke and I didn't ever get a single contraction on my own. Had to be induced in the end

Fruitbatlings · 24/12/2009 12:11

good luck and keep us posted!

Lifesabitch · 24/12/2009 12:15

How exciting!!
Just saw this while scanning MN - good luck!! It will be absolutely fine...if waters have really broken then you should keep leaking (well that's what happened with me!) Try and relax - have a bath/shower and just roll with it. It's gona happen either way and there's no going back, so no sense worrying now! You'll be great....will look out for a birth announcement

GloriaInEccentrica · 24/12/2009 12:23

How very very exciting. relax while you can.

FakePlasticChristmasTrees · 24/12/2009 12:24

So, do I bother finishing straightening my hair? (Was half way though, thinking not...) [jgrin]

Feeling a lot calmer - DH has told his brother than he's not meeting him in the pub afterall. I have a horrid feeling it won't occur to BIL to actually tell MIL christmas dinner might be off...

Just popping the 'posh' Christmas biccies in my hospital bag, might as well have something festive to eat...

Oh, time to charge the i-pod and phone!

You'll be fine. My waters broke, and I only then started packing my hospital bag, had a shower and called the taxi to hospital. (She was 10 days early)

I had to be induced and ended up with a C-Section, because there were no contractions, but everything was fine in the end.

Also have you checked the colour? Mine were green, which is a sign that things must be pushed along. If they're normal coloured there's not neccessarily any need for induction etc.

Good luck!

GloriaInEccentrica · 24/12/2009 12:33

pop on phone and ipod to charge. finish hair. do bikini line and toenails too.
loads of time. you'll be fine.

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 24/12/2009 12:41

oh how exciting!!!

Eat and rest. Go to work on all your lovely nibbles, and there is a Miss Marple on at 4pm [assuming all stays quite on the contraction front]

This might be your last day on your own.Very soon you will have a new shadow, a little person that goes everywhere with you. There will be someone moving in with you soon!!

Magic! Good luck mummies!!

fortyplus · 24/12/2009 12:45

Hello all, DH is just loading up the car, looks like we're going for a month! He's just asked to take some photos before we leave, he wants before and after photos.

Have told my parents, mistake, they are now flapping at my poor brother.

Will keep you posted - thanks for keeping me calm!

xx

PS Hair done, thank goodness I got my roots done yesterday, at least won't be grey on baby's first photos...
