I am curious to know how much hypno birthing helps.

A friend of mine tried it and was in established labour for 3 hours. She says that she thinks it was so short purely because of the hypno birthing she did.

I have always been quite sceptical of such alternative medicine particularly when it comes to child birth so I am curious to know if other people have had a similar experience.

I attended a class did a little visualisation practicing at home and listened to the CD loads for my 1ft birth in 2008. Had a totally pain free home birth and I really believe this is a viable alternative for women, we are just not presented with it at antenatal classes instead they focus on what we don't want i.e. pain. I?m looking forward to my second birth in 4 weeks. Good luck whatever you choose.

Really worth a go. DS was born in Sept last year and I can honestly say it was fab! Spent 3 hours in the pool which I cant remember I was so chilled, DH was calm as well as he went to all the classes with me and knew what was going on. I was laughed at all the way through the last weeks of my pregnancy while I was attending classes as no one thought it would work, they soon ate their words though

Doesn't anyone else want to throw the Pregnancy Relaxation CD out of the window. At the moment I am having real trouble sleeping, my neck hurts, my hips hurt, I basically just ache all over and have spend over £250 this month in trying to solve the problem (2 pillows, a mattress topper and a session with the osteopath) so when Maggie Howell is going on about how your body is functioning perfectly and everything is lovely I just want to lob my bloody iPod!

I hate any sort of relaxation CDs, I take ages to get comfortable, my mind wonders, and last time I did the CD at bedtime and when it had finished I turned over to go to sleep all relaxed and knocked my bloody glass of water everywhere with one of the many pillows I have purchased this month.

Please tell me it is worth persevering?!
