Yep its my positive attitude thread. No matter what happens, this time next week we will be 5 and our new ds will be with us (or he'd better be ).

I saw a fantastic different midwife yesterday (slightly embarrassing as I work with her dh) but she was very positive, without making any promises, told me what she was doing with my cervix, told me to give 'it' another go with dh in the hope that it might help (I promised him I wouldnt ask again ), she booked my induction for monday and booked me another sweep for friday.
After seeing her I felt more positive than I have done for a few weeks about the whole 'ruined perfect MLU birth'!

And to those of you still unsure about the SF jab, she asked if Id had it which I have and she said thats good because in our local ITU there are currently 4 pg women with SF . Shame you dont here about it on local news, it might encourage people to be vaccinated and highlight the risks

any news waddle?

Nothing here for me, cleaning like a demon, and had really bad stomach today pains and diarrhoea, but thats it.

Have had a couple of wobbly days but feel a bit more positive today, its gonna happen tomorrow or tuesday and I just have to face it. Im teetering between terrified and totally over-excited
dh even said this morning that we will wait for baby to be born and then decide from the two names we have (one of which he's maintained he hated) so thats cheered me up too, as might get my fave name after all, but if not I'll get 2nd best.

Probably not be back on here, birth announcements next

Good luck Mosschops (mind you I haven't checked 'birth announcements', maybe the curry and cleaning have worked ).
But if you are still waiting I hope it all goes well tomorrow.

Any news ??

MamaG · 24/11/2009 16:32

I'm really excited, hope all is going ok

mosschops30 · 25/11/2009 14:16

hey ladeez - guess what????????

Ha ha nothing, thats what. Baby mosschops is firmly staying put.
Went in, started induction monday night, contractions started yesterday afternoon, then stopped, they drugged me overnight (presumeably to stop me moaning).
Last ditch attempt now and if I dont go into labour by tonight then it will be a section.

Thankfully my fave aneasthetist is working today and I am making him promise to do it before he goes home

Have just nipped home for a cheeky shower and hair wash (cant bear to get 'clean' in the hospital)

Its waaayyy better than this (lots of demnanding mosschop-isms) but am doing a quick post before I go back so will speak soon

Fingers crossed, mosschops - though not legs!

Looking forward to good news of baby mosschops.

FabIsVeryLucky · 25/11/2009 14:23

Good luck mosschops

Come on Baby!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 25/11/2009 14:54

Blimey - Baby Mosschops is a stubborn little thing ! Look forward to hearing of safe arrival soon Good luck

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/11/2009 15:02

Oh mosschops it doesn't have to end in a section! Where are you up to with the induction? Have they broken your waters yet? They had to do this when I was 2cm and posterior (ouch) to try and get ds out. It still didn't work, but 15 hrs later we finally went for the drip (start of induction was 4 days previous to this!), and he was born not long after. Good luck!

CarGirl · 25/11/2009 15:05

Hope it goes well x

mosschops30 · 25/11/2009 15:08

they have said that if cervix stays the same as it is now they wont consider ARM as too traumatic. No drip without ARM so I guess CS is the next option.
Im 14 days over today, really dont wanna keep holding on

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 25/11/2009 15:10

But your cervix is more advanced than mine was! It was a bit ouch but not that bad!
And my hospital also put someone on the drip without ARM - figured worst that would happen is she would end up with c-sec, which was the alternative anyway! Would you rather have a c-sec?

mosschops30 · 25/11/2009 15:11

not at all, I would ratrher deliver normally but they dont do ARM unless 3cm or more (2 at a push but Im not even at 2cm yet).
And no drip without ARM because apparently it doesnt work

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/11/2009 15:18

Oh sorry - thought I read further down that you were 2cm and anterior.

CarGirl · 25/11/2009 16:16

How many pessaries have you had?

Stayingsunnygirl · 25/11/2009 17:48

Fresh pineapple is supposed to help - and champagne. Curry for supper, then champagne and fresh pineapple for dessert?

cathcat · 25/11/2009 18:39

Oh sorry Mosschops, poor you. Hope it all kicks off tonight! (in a good way )

JustKeepSparkling · 25/11/2009 20:04

Best of luck Mosschops

LaDiDaDi · 25/11/2009 20:06
