Is it a sign that its imminent?
I had a sweep on friday, lost a bit of blood and mw showed me some bloody muscus on her glove but this morning lost a huge jelly like thing!
Did my show happen only as a result of the sweep (I dont remember this happening with ds who I had 3 sweeps with).
No contractions as yet.

Well we've only got two more sleeps to get things kicking off. I won't be allowed to go to the MLU after tomorrow.

A knitting needle could come in handy in my state of desperation.

show thursday morning - DS born monday night after four days of labour which started friday morning... long latent stage! ended up with emcs cos of brow presentation - naughty babies indeed ...

marchbunny · 10/11/2009 13:38

Show started early Friday morning - DS (DC3) born Saturday night after 4 hours of established labour! Hope it happens soon.

With DS 1 I had a show exactly 1 week before he was born. And with DD I had no show at all, but a very quick labour!

CakeForBreakfast · 10/11/2009 15:01

Sounds imminent for us really doesn't it.

I now have had a show. Wooohooooo!! Only a bit, but unmistakable. I too was fascinated (and more chuffed than is probably appropriate for a bit snotty jelly). Also been having mildish contractions every 20-30mins since lunchtime.

Don;'t want to jinx it by hoping though...

poorbuthappy · 10/11/2009 15:10

Both my shows happened when I knew I was in labour...first happened at 10pm, had dd1 at 5.30am following morning. Waters hadn't gone so had to be broken...
DTs, waters went first at 3am, swiftly followed by show...no pain until just outside hospital...(I almost had a cup of tea before leaving the house...now glad I didn't!) born by section at 8.30am.

BUT I do remember having heart failure at 28 weeks with dd1 when I thought I had a show in the shower one morning, but it turned out to be some pink shampoo I managed to drop on the inside of my leg ...god I felt like a twat that morning!

Hyena · 10/11/2009 16:34

I'm wondering whether my show has only been because of s&s - it's been three days since it started and nothing has happened since.

Woohoo Cake. Sounds like things are really moving for you. I've had a bit more this pm after wiping but it's slightly brown rather than being clear. No contractions though.....

How are you getting on Moss?

CakeForBreakfast · 10/11/2009 16:49

I am fairly certain its happening. Middle of each contraction is intense enough to worry me!

Better sign off

xxxxxx

PotPourri · 10/11/2009 16:52

Oooooh exciting. Shouldn't be too long now - by that I mean in the next couple of weeks. I had a show with DC3, but got induced a few days later - not sure if I would have gone myself.

But you are right ot be excited - keep mobile so gravity is helping you out. And all the other things - like natural prostaglandin, curry etc etc.

Hyena · 10/11/2009 19:10

Good luck Cake. Really hope the wait is over for you.

mosschops30 · 11/11/2009 11:42

good luck cake hope we dont see you on here until ou announce the birth.

Im still here had dreadful nightmare about the baby and am a bit touchy today. Was yesterday as well actually, cant even be bothered to speak to dh for no apparent reason. Am quite happy to sit in the house all day on my own, talk to no one and stay on MN

hey mossy! It will be soon! I'm sure it will be soon.

Hyena · 12/11/2009 15:17

It won't be long now Moss. My DS was born yesterday (40+12) after a third s&s on Tuesday. SROM at 6am and he was here by 2pm (after not even being engaged or effaced). Fingers tightly crossed for you.

bluemaiden · 13/11/2009 09:27

Hi every1, sorry to barge in on the thread but I need some advice. I am due today with second child. Had a show last night around 6 pm (I think was a show didn't have 1 with first daughter) although it didn't contain any blood at that point, just jelly like mucus, and been having terrible period pain cramps all night. Had to come and get hot water bottle at 1 am this morning and tried sleeping on the couch because I could not get comfortable.

Had slight amount of blood when I wiped this morning and I still have mild period pain but not alot else (other than feeling absolutely exhausted). Any1 think baby could be coming soon????? First daughter arrived on her due date so the thought of going any lnger is kiling me x

Joycey29 · 13/11/2009 10:22

Hey Moss hope things are moving for you. I am 38 weeks and hoping to go into labour soon as dc3 and dc2 was 38 weeks - this one will probably hang on to wind me up

Luxmum · 13/11/2009 12:45

well I was about to post EXACTLY the same message, so I am glad someone got there first.. I'm on 36 weeks though.. I just went to the loo, and there was a snotty brown -blood blob in my nice brand new knickers. Are shows brown or blood red? I have never had one before, and freaked poor DH out by telling him.. My hospital bags not even packed, let alone anything in the house being ready.. shite shite, I hope DD1 holds on a bit longer than this..

mosschops30 · 13/11/2009 13:16

great news hyena congrats

Im still waiting, have another sweep this afternoon, then am gonna ask for 3rd and final one next Tuesday.
Have decided then to demand an induction next friday ay 41+2, I cannot wait any longer than that, only to end up consultant led again, its soul destroying.
I know it sounds dramatic, but this is ruining what should be a nice restful time for me before the birth, I am so moody and nasty to everyone.
I WANT THIS BABY OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CakeForBreakfast · 13/11/2009 14:55

It was for real! I now have a brand new baby boy!

Had him in a birthing pool and at some point noticed my mucous plug floating about, it reminded me of this thread and made me giggle (high on lovely entenox)!

Hyena - well done!

I hope these other babies come soon, thinking of you. In the meantime, the assault on my nipples has begun!

mosschops30 · 13/11/2009 16:31

congrats cake so pleased for you and everyone else who is managing to get their babies out.
I have started another thread as have been told by different midwife today that cervix is so posterior and babys head not applying any pressure and am unlikely to go into lnbour anytime soon. Totally and utterly miserable
