Sorry to hear you're still waiting!

Can you get another MW appt?

Come on baby, you can't stay in there forever!!!

Disenchanted3 · 22/10/2009 12:11

Cry and ask for a sweep

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 22/10/2009 12:11

PrincessMel you definitely aren't a disappointment to anyone! And thinking about our feelings is going to make you tense, so stop it!

Everyone is behind you, lots of us have been overdue and/or had bh for days before anything real happened - it usually means that when things do get going you'll be over and done with in a few small hours!

And your other half is right, one of these days the cx will start and won't stop. Have faith, it won't be long now!

princessmel · 22/10/2009 12:20

Buffy I did manange to book one, at ds school pick up time, but I have sorted a friend to collect him for me

dh thinks I should ask for a sweep, so does my friend....BUT I think I have got thrush again I had it a month or so ago. She's not going to want to sweep me with thrush

If I tell her I suspect thrush I doubt she'll jump at the chance to do a sweep (would you???)and if I dont mention it and act like I am not aware she'll think I'm stupid and or dirty!!

I want to kiss my baby.

Hey there,

but the end of next week you will have your baby start thinking of it that way

And I know I've told you what happened to me loads but my MIL was going away for a week and wanted me to wait
but turns out she got a very early morning wake up call in Spain to say she was a granny again, hopefully you can do the same on your friend

moodlum · 22/10/2009 19:51

I think that you will have had babymel by very late tomorrow. Perhaps early morning Sat.

That is my opinion.

Pumpkinbummum · 22/10/2009 19:52

No sign of Princessmel, you could be right Moodlum

madmissy · 22/10/2009 20:44

oh poor mel
wonder if they did sweep her?

JustBeBuffy · 22/10/2009 20:59

PM - how did appt go? did you get the sweep? have you got thrush?

or...have you got a baby?!

Hollyoaks · 22/10/2009 21:06

Still no baby? Bless He or she is obviously too comfy.

princessmel · 23/10/2009 12:03

still here.

I went to the MW and she said I could have a sweep if I begged her...but then she went on to say that she's not really supposed to untill I am 7 days late. She said my waters could break while she was sweeping me (I thought this was a good thing) and then if labour didn't start within 48 hours(can't see why it wouldn't) I'd be induced. Which would mean this will be my 3rd incuced labour. She basically said she is convinced that if we wait, I will go into spontanious labour (for the first time ever).

She said sweeps can lead to more intervention and infection and as I am already 4cm, with bulgy waters and soft cervix, blah blah it's only a matter of time. I said 'that's what they said 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!'
She said I should go for a walk. So after the appointment I walked to get ds and then walked home again. I'm taking the kids for a walk this afternoon too.

Oh and baby is a bit more engaged so that's good I suppose..and is lying on the correct side.

She is coming to the house on wednesday to give me my first sweep. 'First' sounds so depressing But she doesn't think that I'll still be pregnant by then....

So today I have been in bed all morning again. dc's have an inset day. But I WILL get up now.

xx Thanks for being intereseted
I hope your crystal balls are correct!!!

try everything - curry, pineapple, walking, nip twiddling sex

so frustrating for you

Poledra · 23/10/2009 12:48

Good luck, and good birthing vibes, princessmel. I'll look forward to your fab birth story with spontaneous-onset labour when I get back from hols.

pinkfizzle · 23/10/2009 18:58

princessmel -i'm sending you some sparkly baby dust your way

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 23/10/2009 19:16

tell dh you need a good rodgering!

moodlum · 23/10/2009 20:37

Princessmel, c'mon - we can't make my first crystal ball prediction inaccurate

fishie · 23/10/2009 20:45

princessmel my mum had two inductions and lied about her dates so she wouldn't have to for the third (i think she had a 43 week pg).

some women just seem to have longer pregnancies. i had an induction myself - for waters breaking so no idea what might have happened. but maybe the same as my mum and perhaps this is you too?

Pumpkinbummum · 23/10/2009 22:52

Princessmel a student doc told me they were told if they want to see spontaneous natural birth to come in at the weekends,
more 3+ mums come in then, and at night,
I say she will be here by Sunday, think its girl season
