Is this labour? Or my body just evil for shits and giggles?

Hello!

This is DS2... for DS1 I was having 1min long contractions every 6 minutes for like, 2 days before I went into hospital, and I was induced at 42+5.

This time however, I started having what felt like contractions last night, for about 40 seconds every 4 minutes.

They were very manageable and I was able to sleep through them... I don't really notice them when I am standing/walking but I def do when sitting.

They are STILL GOING!
Still the same thing, only feel them when I am relaxing, but still every 4-5 mins, last between 40-50 seconds.

Waters intact, so is plug!

What's my body doing?! I am 37 weeks.

There is something quite funny about someone saying they are MakkaPakkasWilly DH

Hope your mum arrives soon and that your DS2 does as well

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2009 23:10

Thanks for well wishes all

Contractions regular and painful but not 'thick and fast'

Still waiting for mum... I suspect I'll be left to sleep tonight and see how it goes in the 'morrow

Because mpw Its raining to buggery and I've benn getting absolutley wicked contractions for bloody bloody ages. If it wasn't raining so hard I would be tempted to go for a bounce and put myself out of my misery.

My dp has his own sign on btw - he's called thepurpleparsnip

Good luck ! and nothing nasty is going to happen you're off to collect your babe.

Makka,

I'm posting this here in the hope I can tell this to you without freaking out any newbies. I abrupted with dd2 whilst I was pushing her out. Was very strange because I was fine and calm until I started to push when all of a sudden it was as tho someone had whispered in my ear that if I didn't get dd out asap she wouldn't make it. I pushed through every contraction and carried on pushing inbetween the contractions. Midwife was going ape because I wasn't doing as I was told. dd popped out in about seven contractions, apparantly at least half the time she should have taken. She was blueing and was followed by the placenta. Placenta was completely knackered.... DD is perfect

It was a few days before it really hit me what had happened and I reacted much like you have. Just thank your lucky stars makka. He's here, he's fine. He's a double blessing. Don't let it get to you and don't dwell on the "might have beens".

Here if you need to chat...

KKQxxx

Hi KKQ,

Thanks so much for your message. It really meant a lot, and I felt very reassured to know it wasn't just me.

It's very scary and yes you are right.. he's a double blessing.

I am a very lucky mum.

Makka x
