Show... in a 1st time mum - how long before labour? Another of pupuce's quest for info!

I know (and I always say) that a show - especially in a 1st time birth - can come many days beore the birth but I wondered how common that was.

SO...

In your first labour, if you did not have a sweep (and also no one had done an internal examination)... how many days or hours before the labour started did you have your show?

After the first period pain like twinges so maybe around 20 hours

Show - 7am saturday
Waters broke - 6pm saturday
Labour started - 6am sunday
ie nearly 24 hours

I never had a show. Ever. DS was ten days late and I so wanted to have one too! I have no idea what happened to it - my waters broke at the beginning of my labour - no show. Weird.

I had a show at about 6.30pm and I'd say labour started about an hour after that.
I had ds 1am - so about six or seven hours from show to birth.

Woken up by waters breaking at 3.30am and contractions 2 mins apart. Went straight to loo and had obvious show. Ds born 12 hours later.

I didn't have a show with DS1 at all, I went straight into contractions, and had my waters manually broken when I was 3 or 4cm dilated.

I was a 7 days between show and birth with baby 1 and baby 2

Period type cramps from 2am Saturday
Show 7am Saturday.
4cm dilated midnight
Ds1 born 10am Sunday

Show was lunch(ish) time, around 12.30pm.

Waters broke and labour started midnight same night

DD was born at 2.31am.

i was 37.5 weeks when DD was born,if that makes any difference

7 days between the show and the actual birth....but pre-labour pains like strong contractions for all those 7 days....! hope it goes better for u!

I did not have a show. Waters broke early morning and we went straight from there!

erm, After the first period pain like twinges so maybe around 20 hours before DS was born. I don't know exactly what you would class as when labour started but my first twinges were literally just before the show and 20 hours before DS was born.

Had a show one morning about 3/4 days before and then more the morning before I went into labour. Didn't go into labour til around midnight that night though.

10 days before labour

Show at 6am Monday (3 days before due date)
Period like pains started 4pm Mon
Proper contractions at 3pm Tues
Waters broke 5pm Tues
DS born 9.30pm Tues

Just over a week Pupuce. Strictly speaking, second time birth, but only time I actually went into labour.
