wonder if it worked then?

pregnabrain · 31/03/2009 14:00

me too!!

Nah, no chance, it was thoroughly unpleasant though! I had the needles in for 10 mins then the guy put electrode thingies on to the needles and shocked me for 20 mins. Horrible. Sounds all wrong, I know. Had it done in the maternity outpatients dep't of the hospital.
Have had some castor oil this afternoon.

Glad I didn't bother with acupuncture then! Went to the hospital this afternoon, going to be induced on Thursday Don't want to be, but it's the lesser of two evils (I really cannot cope with being pregnant any longer than I have to be). I'm really upset, actually, I feel betrayed by my own body, like I've done something wrong by not going into labour naturally. I know I'm just being silly and hormonal, but I keep bursting into tears.

oh you poor thing, have a search under castor oil on here, there are pros and cons, but if you're feeling like that then it may be worth having a go.

I've been having some more contractions/tightenings and have convinced myself yet again that I'm going in to labour, and have just made the poor midwife come to see me (home birth) to witness my contractions [pretty much stopping altogether! I'm thinking about having another spoonful of castor oil now

I'm due next week but was overdue with my first two little uns... my doc at the womens hospital in liverpool is happy to let women go over 14 days with the belief that obviously not every baby will be ready at exactly the same time... with your docs go ahead you could ask for a few more days if you're not happy been induced. I have always gone into labour naturally on day 13. The things that worked were nipple tweaking and massage low down on pressure points on back by a qualified masseur(friend) could be coincidence cos so overdue but both tomes it was a last minute ...' oh my god I'm13 days now better do something more than sex and curry!!' x x good luck...I'll probably be aon this thread for a while if the past repeats itself!! x

oh sorry your experience of acupuncture turned out to be a let-down.

did they only offer you one session? it can take more than that, i think...

anyway, hope all is well with you and that you are cuddling your bundle v soon

Well, I managed to avoid induction, by about 12 hours! I started getting pains at 7pm Wednesday night, baby Nicholas arrived at 1.54am in the early hours of Thursday morning- all 9lbs 1oz of him. I didn't get to go to the birthing centre, but the birth was very straightforward, midfife was lovely and, all in all, I don't think it could have been better. Got home from hospital at lunchtime today, and baby and I are doing well. I hope everything goes/went as well for you as it did for me.

Forgot to add the EPO must be without the added Vitamin A, can have Vit E though

Sorry I can't find the link that I was trying to find. But I hope that you get the labour started soon.
