If you had an episiotomy with first birth, what happened second time?

Please tell.

Obstetrician said that there is a 50% (!!!) chance I will need/have an episiotomy this time because I had one last time. Something about the scar tissue not stretching.

I'm freaking out like you would not believe

sleepless - I hear good things about these visualisation techniques & just got the book/cd 'Hypnobirthing - The Mongan Method'. If it even helps in calming down my anxiety a little, it will be a good thing.

Thank you for the sympathy

I had a 4th degree tear after an episiotomy with my second son 4 months ago. Still now is tender around my rectal area, I'm not sure if stitches came loose or not but I've been feeling some burning and pain as well as a leaking feeling back there. Its really uncomfortable and I don't know what to do. I've found this on the internet: .
It's a laser therapy called MonaLisa Touch, someone of you can tell me more?

@Amyplus Hi dear, I would recommend it to you for your problems. I heard it from my mother's friend, a person i really trust, she said she used it months ago for her menopausal problems. I also decided to try it myself since I'm having bad postpartum issues, I really read good things on the net about it.

DD1 - episiotomy - she was 5lbs 4 and born very quickly.

DS - nothing, not even a graze (8lbs 3).

DD2 - slight tear but no stitches required - 8lbs and cam out back to back.

Second degree tear with dd1 - healed perfectly. Had no issues since. (A lot of people I know with episiotomies have had awful issues).
Dd2, water birth. Small graze, no stitches. Totally healed 8 weeks on.

Roseybee10 · 08/04/2015 18:34

Ps dd1 8lbs 2 - born lying down on hosp bed
Dd2 - 6lbs 14oz - born in pool leaning over side.

I had an episiotomy with 1st and was stitched by a trainee who didn't do a great job and I took ages to heal. Dreaded tearing/cut with 2nd. I did in fact tear which I absolutely didn't feel, was stitched by an expert and whether it was anything to do with everything being easier 2nd time didn't have any trouble or in fact much discomfort whilst healing up.
I hope you have an easy time of it OP.
