Quick Poll please: How long after a Sweep did you go into labour?

I've only had one sweep with dc2 at 40+5 and although it started more regular contractions it was still 2 days before things got going and even then I was swept again (for luck) on the morning I called the m/w out.

Tbh I think he'd still be there now without the sweep and he's just turned 5!

So, if you had a stretch and sweep how long until you went into labour?

According to my midwife, research shows a sweep only has an effect 1 in 8 times.... (was in the written info from nhs re induction so assume it is research based)

I have a sweep today (40+6) and praying it bloody works!

Not looking forward to it though....I've heard it can be fairly uncomfortable.

oh good luck!

I'm still pg, due tomorrow. Will have a 2nd sweep on Wednesday I think.
It's def started to shift things though. Mucous plug has been coming away in bits and BH are getting stronger, which is all good news.
The more work done now, means less for me to do when I d actually head into active labour.

My only worry is I'll get to Wednesday and she'll say "hmm, not much change there".
Hopefully, it'll be "ooh you're nearly 4cm!" but somehow I suspect not.

I had 3 sweeps with dd2, eventually went into labour 14 days after due date, 4 days after last sweep (so don't think it had much effect!)

I had a sweep with DS2 and it worked for me abour 48 hrs later, i was 10 days over as it was but my consultant wasn't very hopeful of me going into labour by myself so was booked in for a section, thankfully 2 days later i was in labour (had my show the day before)
