littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 21:22

Don't know how much weight I lost but I remember it taking 6 of them to get me into position on op table (forcep delivery) and only 2 to shift me back up when they were finished

ranirani · 21/01/2009 22:15

Lost 2 stone when I weighed myself two weeks after my csection. DD was 9lbs though.

littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 22:20

My ds was over 9lbs and was told I had a massive placenta.......
Was a bit mad looking at myself and seeing this huge rock hard gut and then 2 seconds later could see my feet again. Crazy how much my stomach went down! Not enough though, didn't manage to get back into my size 12's gonna have a lot of work to do when this one gets out!

RiaParkinson · 21/01/2009 22:22

this time i lost ONLY the baby weight

absolutely gutted x

ruthmollymummy · 22/01/2009 07:45

After I had dd I still looked 6 months pregnant for a week! And there were no rooms for me in the ward with the other new mummies so I was put back in the antenatal ward where everyone made the assumption I was still pregnant!!

mamadiva · 22/01/2009 07:49

Not sure about straight after birth, but I had a ECS and the next day I was walking around the hospital and people were asking if I was sure I'd had a baby

Exactly a weeka after DS was born I had lost 3 and a half stone, but my MW did say that was a bit worrying, although I am not exactly a 'skinny minnie' so that 3 and half stone was not enough LOL.

OatcakeCravings · 22/01/2009 09:14

A week after I'd had ds I was 3 stone lighter. He was a 9 pounder though and I had too much amniotic fluid and was huuugggeee! I also had mad water retention which took about 8 weeks in total to go and 2 months after the birth I was back to my pre-baby weight without dieting which I was pleased about! The midwife was going mental 'cos I'd gained 4 and a half stone but it was all baby and water so if I ever have another one I'm not going to worry about what I eat!

LeoMcGarry · 22/01/2009 09:30

I lost less than the weight of my baby! I had a rough time and they had stuffed me so full of various IVs that I was carrying around excess fluid for nearly a week but then it fell off quite quickly and I'd lost about 2 stone within 10-14 days. DS was 9lb though so not surprising a lot went very quickly once the fluid retention eased.

Niecie · 22/01/2009 09:36

I only put on 18lb with DS2 and had lost the lot by the time he was 4 days old. He was 9lb.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 22/01/2009 09:36

Only the weight of the baby.

Highlander · 22/01/2009 10:48

no idea how much weight was lost but I was a bit stunned both times that when I stood up the bump has just disappeared. Mind, I had CSs so I didn't stand up until about 5 hours after the birth. still a bit freaky though

learnermummy · 22/01/2009 11:20

I lost a stone after the birth. Unfortunatley the other two stone took a bit longer

MrsMattie · 22/01/2009 11:22

Nah. Lost exactly 10 lbs with my first baby (who weighed 10 lbs).!). I think the swelloing and water retention you get after a c-section stops you losing it so quickly in the first few weeks, though.

Lost about the same (10lbs) with DD, who weighed 7 lbs, but it has started falling off me a lot quicker this time (DD 9 weeks old now). Think it's running around after a 3 yr old that does it!

AccidentalMum · 22/01/2009 13:14

Very disappointed to lose 7lbs on the day with DD1 and she weighed 6lbs

Coldtits · 22/01/2009 13:15

I have no idea. Is it a healthy attitude to be gettng on the scales straight after having a baby to see how much weight you have lost?

Niecie · 22/01/2009 14:21

It isn't unhealthy - it is part idle curiosity and partly about being grateful you don't have to hoist your (relatively) enormous bulk around any more.

AccidentalMum · 22/01/2009 14:50

I don't have scales at home and there were some in the bathroom at the hospital so I weighed myself out of curiosity. Was the first I knew of my weight that pregnancy. FWIW, my gran rang me twice a week to check that I wasn't creeping above 10st....that's unhealthy

MrsVW · 22/01/2009 17:13

I lost about 12 kg in 10 days after birth. I was so stressed from demand feeding and DS constant crying, so had almost no appetite and no time to eat.

i lost 4 stones in 8 months after having em c-section with dd1. i lost 2 stones within 2 weeks after having VBAC with dd2...

nontoxic · 22/01/2009 18:12

Whth my first,I dropped 1.5 stones straight after the birth, then it took about 2 months for the other 2.5 stones to go!
With no.2, likewise, but only had another 2 to lose.
No3, again 1.5 stone straight off, and took a bit longer to lose the last stone.

CoteDAzur · 22/01/2009 18:22

I lost 7 kgs during DD's birth. She weighed 4 kgs at birth. Another 3 kgs included placenta and copious amounts of blood.
