I am 35 weeks and convinced that baby is going to come early - I am not sure why or how early however . Did anyone else have a hunch and were you right or wrong??

This is baby no. 2. Baby no.1 was late and I had no idea at all about what I thought about anything!

I thought ds1 would be early - I even had visions of going into labour when doing the ironing!!!

But alas, no. 3 days late, and definitely nowhere near the ironing board!

TotalChaos · 11/06/2008 21:02

I thought baby would be late - and MW also expected DS to be late. But he was 3 days early.

constancereader · 11/06/2008 21:04

I was convinced mine would be early. I had bh all the time from a month before my due date.

He arrived ten days late, I was not amused!

snickersnack · 11/06/2008 21:11

Totally sure ds would be late - dd was finally evicted 2 weeks late so was working on the assumption that would be the case again. But in fact he surprised me (and everyone else who had believed my propaganda) by coming 2 weeks early. Ready I was not...

kookykid · 11/06/2008 21:12

I was utterly convinced I'd be early, but sadly not.... baby born at 43+3 !

SquiffyHock · 11/06/2008 21:13

I was convinced DS would be early - born at 36 weeks. Also thought DD would be right on time - went into labour on my DD.

Just a coincidence I suspect though.

ChasingSquirrels · 11/06/2008 21:14

I convinced myself that mine would be 42 weekers - more so that I didn't feel overdue.
ds1 popped out at 37 weeks.

ds2 - I tried to convinced myself that it would be 42 weeks (while secretly hoping / thinking it would be another 37 weeker), he didn't even make it to 37 weeks, turning up just before midnight on 36+6.

whomovedmychocolate · 11/06/2008 21:15

Everyone involved (including senior consultants) were convinced DD was coming at 29 weeks. She was finally dragged out the catflap at 43+6

whomovedmychocolate · 11/06/2008 21:16

I'm convinced this one is coming at 38+2 but I have no reason to believe this really. I think it's just hope over reason!

cmotdibbler · 11/06/2008 21:22

Didn't think he'd be early. But DS arriced at 35 weeks

orangehead · 11/06/2008 21:29

DS1- The day before due date I just knew I would go into labour that night, I was so convinced I rang hubby at work and said 'Im going into labour tonight' he thought I had finally cracked up. I started getting lower back back that evening then waters broke at 2 in the morning.
DS2 - from about 36 weeks felt he was going to be early, he was born a week early

Nappyzoneneedsanewname · 11/06/2008 21:32

My first was 2 weeks early so i was convinced my 2nd would be at least 2 weeks early too - he was actually 2 weeks late and it was torture every day over the 2 weeks early date lol so in my mind he was 4 weeks late! I hate tardiness (crap spelling i know)

morocco · 11/06/2008 21:35

yes
and no

JoyS · 11/06/2008 22:15

I'm 34 + 5 and convinced this baby is coming early-have been since I found out I was preggers. DD1 was one day late and I had no such feeling about her. Am very interested to see what will happen.

lilQuidditchKel · 11/06/2008 22:18

Yes - 37 weeks for DS
No - 39 weeks planned elective CS for DD (I was convinced she would come earlier)

Ledodgy · 11/06/2008 22:20

I always knew mine would be early not massively early just knew i'd have them before my due date even when everyone was telling me I was bound to go over with my first. I was 3 days early with all three.

AtheneNoctua · 11/06/2008 22:27

I thought DD would come early. It was wishful thinking. She was 2 weeks late, and even then had to be evicted.

OatcakeCravings · 12/06/2008 16:10

Yes and I was right - arrived at 35 weeks therefore a prem baby ending up in neonatal - wouldn't wish an early baby on anyone as its hertbreaking being on the ward and not having your baby with you.

meemar · 12/06/2008 16:14

DS1 was born at 35 weeks and as a result I was convinced DS2 would be early too.

Luckily he arrived at 40 weeks, although at that point I felt about 5 weeks overdue!

PregnantPenguin · 12/06/2008 16:52

Yes. Today is my due date and no sign of him, so looks like I was wrong.

Whomovedmychoc - LOL at "catflap"!

whomovedmychocolate · 12/06/2008 18:10

pregnantpenguin - I mean I had a caesarian

Oumasrusks · 12/06/2008 19:26

I was convinced that DD1 was going to be early, but she wasn't and arrived at 39 weeks exactly.

I had the same feeling for DD2 and she was early - she was born at 36 weeks.

nickytwotimes · 12/06/2008 19:28

I reckoned on ds being a week early and he was. i have a short cycle and worked it out from the conception date, lol!

meglet · 12/06/2008 19:37

thought DS would be late, he came at 37 weeks.

Think this one will be early.

LIZS · 12/06/2008 19:43

yes and no !
