I am 35 weeks and convinced that baby is going to come early - I am not sure why or how early however . Did anyone else have a hunch and were you right or wrong??

This is baby no. 2. Baby no.1 was late and I had no idea at all about what I thought about anything!

Yes I did; my MW also thought it would happen early too. It didn't - I was induced and DD was born eventually by c section nearly 2 weeks late.

didn't think ds would be early and he was by 4 days

thought dd might be similar and she was 7 days early

was CONVINCED dd2 would be early, in fact was expecting her to pop out from 36 weeks and she was 8 days early

I was insanely convinced my babies would be early as all the babies in my family (ie me, my sister and my sister's at that time only one baby - so hardly a huge sample, dammit) had been.

DD1 was two days (would have been three, had she not taken so damn long about it) ahead of schedule.

So I had the same conviction second time round, and only on the very day of starting my self-determined maternity leave - I'm a freelancer - did I realise that I might of course be utterly wrong (I often am) and therefore only have about three months off with the baby. But before I had much time to worry about it I went into labour, 16 days ahead of schedule.

I have 3 dc, and with Dd2 I was utterly convinced that she would be early.

I was so uncomfortable throught the whole pregnancy, had loads of very painful braxton hicks and always felt like I might just pop open LOL.

Anyway, I was right, as I went into labour at 34 weeks.

tellyaddict · 12/06/2008 20:37

No with the 1st, assumed I'd go 40 weeks (went 38), yes with dc2 (as the first was a little ahead of schedule) (went 39 weeks) and most definitely with the 3rd - I even went on maternity leave much sooner, and got everything ready early as I was absolutely convinced baby would be early - false early labour at 33 weeks, baby arrived at 37 weeks!

debinaustria · 12/06/2008 22:37

ds1 was 40 +3
ds2 was 40
this time I convinced myself I'd be early, and am currently 40+5

Rolf · 13/06/2008 02:53

I (and everyone else) was convinced this baby would come early.

40 + 6 and counting...

I thought all of mine would be early and I was right!!

dd1 - 4 days early and boy was I gld as she was 9lb12!
ds - 10 days early and also very glad as he was 9lb3!
dd2 - induced at 37 weeks as I was ill, so 3 weeks early. A dinky 7lb15, so looks liek she would have been the same ish weight as the others by 'normal' birth times.

Dont knw how I knew. I have never gone over, for whichI am very glad!

baby number 2 i was convinced would be early, had loads of braxton hicks and 3 false alarms, she was born on her due date , so can;t complain!

PeachyWontLieToYou · 13/06/2008 07:41

DS1 induced, ds3 a week early (just background)

so yes and yes

ds3 a week late

ds4 we were warned would come early by MW as engaged weeks before (in a 4th pg rare). 8 days late.
