None of mine were borne on the EDD given by the doc's, etc - but all three were born on the exact dates that i worked out.
DD1 - 2 months later than doc insisted
DD2 - 8 days later than docs EDD
DS - 10 days later than EDD given by doc.

Any particular reason that you're asking?

Yes, DS3 was born on his due date. Which may, or may not, have had something to do with the acupuncture treatment I had the week before.

Gingerbear · 23/04/2008 17:34

DD was born on EDD
DS was 1 day early.

Mhamai · 23/04/2008 17:35

Wow the three of them! That's some going. No, no particular reason, I thought about it folling on from the weight thread. Although, you have brought up an interesting point about doctor's getting dates wrong.

If this is in anyway a representative sample: 5% of posters will say yes. However, the question wording will probably tempt more on-time arrivals to answer and blow that theory

I'm in the 95% camp of being 3 weeks early myself and my first was 10 days late

ZZZZ

EyeballsintheSky · 23/04/2008 17:45

DD was but I was induced. Does that still count?

fiodyl · 23/04/2008 17:46

no

DD due 14/03 altho i worked it out to b more like 25/03. Born after failed induction/c-section at 39 weks.MW said she looks more like a 36 weeker are u sure the dates were right!!!

DS original due date of 09/02 but after saying there was no way I was giving birth on that day9my birthday) it was changed to 12/02.Gave birth on 14/02-1st valentines baby on the labour ward

PerkinWarbeck · 23/04/2008 17:57

spot on.

I had assumed that that would be the one day she wouldn't arrive, as everyone bangs on about first babies being late, and so had to cancel a prior arrangement with a mate .

alfiesbabe · 23/04/2008 21:29

DD1 - born on EDD. She was the heaviest.
DD2 - Csection 5 weeks early
DS - born 1 week early.

Hulababy · 23/04/2008 21:31

No, not here.

DD was due 24 March; born 12 days later, by c section, on 5 April

VirginiaWoolf · 23/04/2008 21:31

Yes, first DC born on due date. Second one was 12 days late.

Ceolas · 23/04/2008 21:31

My DS was.

FAWKEOFF · 23/04/2008 21:32

yep he was born on due date...i would have been started off the day after anyway

pantiesandsussies · 23/04/2008 21:33

dd was, ds was born at 27 weeks.

franke · 23/04/2008 21:35

Both my two were - dd more by accident after failed induction, then em cs. ds came of his own accord on edd. No.3 is due in 3 weeks, but I expect him to be a bit early, don't ask me why

JulesJules · 23/04/2008 21:40

DD1 was born on her EDD. I thought she was going to be one day early, then I was in labour a very long time! DD2 was born 38+6, an elective CS at exactly the same weight that DD1 was. I think she would have been born before her EDD if she had been a normal delivery. I was "several weeks" early,(Mum a bit vague on her dates) myself, and I've been early for everything, ever since...

BouncingTurtle · 23/04/2008 21:45

Of the 8 of us who did AN classes together, only one of the babies was born on his due date. The others were all late!

harpsichordcarrier · 23/04/2008 21:48

yes, dd2 - though I went into labour two days before
5% of babies are born on their due date.

harpsichordcarrier · 23/04/2008 21:51

by the way - being born after the EDD is not late.
for first babies - 5% on the EDD. of the rest, 30% are born before, 70% born after.
it's just an estimate! women are not machines and babies come when they are ready.
I think we should abolish the due date.

asicsgirl · 24/04/2008 11:39

Yes - DS born on due date (at 3pm, how civilised). DS2 due on May 1 - we will see...

yes on his edd, i was sliced open after a failed induction 3 years ago today

castille · 24/04/2008 11:43

Sort of.

DD1 was born at bang on 40 weeks, but here in France your official due date is 41 weeks from LMP so she was considered early
