Maybe labour starting !

Think I might be going into labour , had been super uncomfortable all day and now is 1.22 and woke up mild cramp and had poop which would never happen at this bewitching hour! Had another 1 or 2 mild cramps so far. Anyone else empty bowels like this snd it was labour? I'm 40+5 days and baby is calculated to be about 9.5lb by now so fair to say eviction notice has been served!

No I didn’t get this
but I do know you can get mild diarrhoea in early labour

Scotmum256 · 02/06/2024 01:38

I was thinking this and mostly so the fact i woke up for it. Just had a other contraction but painful def different from BH. Wide awake again so sitting up to see if it comes to anything !

I never got this either. My first dc I just had pain like period cramps. My whole labour from the first cramps to birth lasted 24 hours and only 15 hours later it intensified and went into hospital and was already 4cm dilated. For 15 hours though until going to hospital, these period like cramps were uncomfortable enough to keep you awake where you couldn't lie down or sleep but not severe enough to stop you from doing your daily chores. My mucus plug came out in hospital and i my waters went after that. Good luck and hope your baby comes quickly safe and sound.

Yes I think this is usual - could definitely be a sign especially if your cramps are regular

Use a contraction timer on your phone? There are apps you can download and just press stop and start to give you an idea how regular they are.

My advice if you need it -

Keep calm and light about this, your body knows what it's doing even if at times you feel you don't!

Keep easy and breezy and know each contraction will come - and the most important - go.

Watch something funny now! Whatever makes you laugh usually, a comedy series or something silly.

Good luck OP, you've got this!!!!

Scotmum256 · 02/06/2024 01:46

Thank you! Hoping it is the real thing and not a night wasted awake as been struggling to sleep recently. Will put on good reliable friends and have downloaded a contraction app so will see where it leads. X

How exciting OP. Hopefully this clear out is a sign of bubs arrival! Keep us updated. I like the advice above about watching something and keeping calm. Sometimes contractions slow in hospital because of the stress, so best to stay relaxed at home for as long as you can. Best of luck xx

Don’t forget to drink something.
cup of tea or something sugary to keep your energy up.
thinking of you.
🙏

Peasnbeans · 02/06/2024 01:54

This definitely sounds like it - trust yourself to know this is it!
How exciting, hope you're in a place, or 30 mum from a place, where you can deliver easily.
Second kids come more forcefully!

Peasnbeans · 02/06/2024 01:55

30 min away from a place you can deliver easily!

I'm about 30 mins from hospital and roads will be quiet thankfully as daytime is hell with thr good weather! I feel buzzy like I'm sure today will be the day. Gona track on the app and hoping they keep up. Is like every 15 mins just now and is pain and cramping so def not BH x

It was mostly the poop that made me question if it was this or not lol xx

YaMuvva · 02/06/2024 02:03

Be glad it’s popped out now and not later on on the midwife 😂

How you getting on OP? Last time I was in labour I put Bridget Jones Baby on the TV at 4am for inspiration and 20 minutes later I was hopping onto a bed in my coat in the labour ward (no time to take it off) with a baby already halfway out! I blamed that Bridget 😆

Peasnbeans · 02/06/2024 02:05

Have had 3 babies, 3 poops.
Definitely sounds like this is it.
Did your waters break with other DC?
How.log ago was this?

Peasnbeans · 02/06/2024 02:09

If it's your first - you could be a day away.
If not - take a brief walk around in the dark outside and you'll know when you need to get in the car.
. Sending you all good wishes, so exciting to meet the new one.

Scotmum256 · 02/06/2024 02:12

So far is like 15 mins apart this is my third and feels ridiculous and I'm acting like it's my first but my kids are 12 and nearly 8 so has been a while ! First just started with contractions and waters broke late into labour. 2nd was born in her waters but had bloody show prior to labour so expected it. This time (if this is it) seems like could be same as first. Last labour was pretty quick but unsure if a time lapse between kids would mean this one could be longer, not sure if it works that way.

Hoping I don't poop myself but glad if I got the worst of it out at home lol (yuck)

Yes but I was emptying behind a curtain ( our house was not fully built ) into a bucket whilst the ambulance crew stood outside listening to my dh tell them all about the design 🤣🤣🤣

Yep, 3 babies, 3x bowel emptying in early labour.
I'd use the time to rest and relax as much as possible as you have a busy day ahead!

JoniBlue · 02/06/2024 05:11

Good luck OP!

OzziePopPop · 02/06/2024 05:15

Scotmum256 · 02/06/2024 06:34

Thank you ladies, they kind of wore off and were less intense so went to bed for an hour and woke up with a bad one..on my ball hoping it can help , hoping this early stage doesn't last days as I've read people having this and have never previously had it!

OP posts:
CadyEastman · 02/06/2024 06:49

Sounds pretty much like my first. He was born at teatime so there's time yet Wink

JennyfromtheBlok · 02/06/2024 06:51
