It's 4.50am and have been having contractions since 10pm. Currently they seem to be every 3 minutes and I'm already struggling. I'm expecting it to be a long one - both other CS were for failure to progress after many hours of frequent contractions and very little dilation. DH is asleep, I want him to be as rested as possible and I can't even find doula's phone number. how disorganised am I? Tried having a bath but felt very uncomfortable and contractions slowed down a lot. Went to bed and then they really kicked off. Please wish me luck. I so want to avoid another CS.

Go girl!
You know you can do this, it's what you've been waiting for, just focus on each and every pain in as good a way as possible, remember, it's what you want and it's bringing your baby!
Oh, I'm a silly fecker I've gotten all tearful
I want to hold your hand!lol.

CommonSense · 28/03/2008 08:15

Good luck.
Stay out of the bath until you are really progressing. It will slow things down.

dillinger · 28/03/2008 09:10

Best of Luck, sending you loads of positive opening vibes xx One of the most comfortable positions I found was to sit on the loo! Might help and you can always sit 'back to front' on it and lean. My yoga teacher recommended it and I have to agree!

TheMaskedPoster · 28/03/2008 09:13

OOOOO - good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fleecy · 28/03/2008 09:42

Come on vacaloca!!
I'm so tempted to come up the hospital and look for you to check you're not there

vacaloca · 29/03/2008 19:31

I BLOODY DID IT!!!

Not at home, unfortunately but my lovely boy was born at the hospital completely naturally at 12.10pm. We had some decels so agreed to transfer thinking that'd be it and I would have another CS but contractions really picked up on way to hospital and he was born 4 hours later with the help of amazing doula and absolutely fantastic newly-qualified midwife who used to be doula. I PUSHED MY BABY OUT!! What an amazing feeling (despite 2nd degree tear - ouch). Physiological 3rd stage and all lovely until 3 hours later basically collapsed with massive haemorrhage so had to have 4 units of blood overnight but feeling a lot better today so back home and taking it very easy. Just thought I'd get up and give you an update after leaving you like that yesterday!
