A bath can put things on hold, if it was real labour, and from how you described the contractions, it sounds like it probably was, things will probably get moving again in the next 24 hours or so.

Tell her to shower instead!

Was she fully engaged before today? Maybe the baby has gone lower into the pelvis, I always describe that as feeling 'different' down below.

Good luck, and keep us updated!

Divvy, how exciting

Keep us posted!

Divvy · 14/03/2008 18:14

She was 3/5 on monday, it does sound like it has done something.

There is another thread about baths in early labour....can they really stop real labour?

I don't think it would stop it, but pause it deffo, my midwife warned me against getting into the bath before she arrived (had a home birth planned, didn't happen though) she said I wasn't to get into the water before I was 5cm.

Hope things kick off tonight, will try and check back over the weekend but it's DS1's birthday so will be busy busy busy!

Hope it all goes well

FAQ · 15/03/2008 11:51

well????????????????????

Divvy · 15/03/2008 11:56

It all started up again at 6am today, and stopped at 10am, but now she cant walk, so its done something!

Constant back ache now, and just twingy pains on and off.

Think it will be later today, she looks ready now!

They were more painful today today as well, she had to breath through these ones!
