What time did you go into labour?

Both of mine started in the early hours of the morning and I had a rude awakening! I'm just wondering how common this is. I think it must be nicer for it to start during the day when you're up and about. What do you all think?

About 2 hours after downing a bottle of castor oil!!!!!!!! So about 10pm ish.

2am Sunday woken by first contractions, dd born Tuesday evening - currently psyching myself up with all those "2nd labour is much shorter" stories before the next one arrives in March

Had a show at 3am-1st contractions at 3.30am whilst on phone to hospital- 3 mins apart straight away,dd arrived at 7.21am.

My family are taking bets on me not even making it to the hospital this time.

ds started 7.00 am , born 7.10 pm.
dd started 6.30 am, born 10.10 am

Started (i.e. regular contractions) as we were going into town to go out for dinner...and went on for a few days after that. DD was born at one minute to midnight though!

ds1 waters broke 9.30am, no contractions, ds was footling breech so emergency section - born 4.32pm.

babyno2 on way - who knows???!

Son Contractions 3.30 am born 16.10, had to brake waters at 9cm
Daughter - Contractions 3.30am as well, born 13.10 water came out intact

About 3.15 am with both babies. DS born 12.01 pm and DD born 7.46 am. Waters didn't go with either until well into 2nd stage (about 11 am and 7.44 am respectively). I think DH slept through the first 2 hours with both as well. In fact with DD I woke him up accidentally at about 5.30 am because I was tidying the kitchen and dropped a tub of DS's paint on the kitchen floor.

Mild contractions started 4.30pm. DS born about 6am next day, home by lunchtime.

DD (my first) was induced and ended with emerg.cs so doesn't really count, but she was lifted out about 6am too.

woke up with mild contractions around 3am. got serious around 5.30. dd delivered just after noon.

Woke up at 3.45am on 15th and waters had broken - DD was born at 09.55 on the 16th.

Difficult to tell with DD1 - probably mid-afternoon or suchlike. On the Wednesday. Born Friday lunchtime. Vile.

DD2 - at 1.38 with a pop and a flood. Baby emerged seven hours later. Fabulous.
