Been having little twinges since 4am and they're getting stronger, harder to ignore.
About ruddy time, too... but I'm still quietly terrified.... IF this is it, ho hum. Off to put kids to bed, but for when I get back, any words of encouragement will be much appreciated!
41+3 with Baby No. 4...

brilliant IIjkk - you're an expert at this remember, all you have to do is go with it

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 14/02/2008 21:25

All 3!!!

Good luck IIjkk

Klaw · 14/02/2008 21:28

Dizzy, I do the fruit scones around here!!! [stern face]

JossStick · 14/02/2008 21:32

If it's a boy - you can call him Valentine.

PestoMonster · 14/02/2008 21:34

And if it's a girl, Valentina

dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 21:38

klaw you carry on, was just bigging myself up as my scones are shite - I do a mean white chocolate cheesecake if that floats anyones boat?

Valentino? Didn't Salma Hayek have a wee girl and call it something similar - if its good enough for her.....

lljkk · 14/02/2008 22:14

Oh ta... ctx are all over the place. Every 5-10 minutes, ranging from just annoying to YOWZA! This is typical of how my labours have gone previously. I was lying down in bed in case I could sleep, but now I have started laying stuff out for the birthing pool (hoping for a homeB) and I can see DH is quietly squiffing himself. We haven't phoned the MWs yet, sort of trying to be sure... esp. if hospital announces they haven't enough MWS and they want us to go in....

Now ctx have gone quiet in last 5-10 min, of course!

Are you planning a home birth?

dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 22:20

of course, do you have a birthing ball - get bouncing!!

did you see the subtle name suggestions by the way?!?!?

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 14/02/2008 22:23

ooooh i love a good birth thread
how are you getting on??
anyone mind if i grab that rocking chair?? kitkat bite anyone??
xx ei xx

dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 22:24

thanks for offer of kitkat but just had a donut and think am already on a bit of a sugar rush - you'll have to wrestle the rocking chair off klaw lol

lljkk · 14/02/2008 22:30

Names: Valentine -- I think I'd have to be a different sort of person to lumber my son with that. I just don't have the brass knackers (all the power to those who do, mind). I'm more in the "safe and boring" camp of baby names.
I don't know whether to do squatting exercises or go lie down for a kip, since ctx have gone quiet (typical, eh??).
HO hum, tick tock, tick tock... ooh, contraction at last! ...
About a 7-8 on a scale of 1-20 for intensity, but went on a while (30-45 seconds?).

OP posts:
EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 14/02/2008 22:30

LOL oh i didnt know it was taken... there you go klaw theres your chair back...anyone else want a chair/kitkat??
anywho how is our labouring friend getting on??
xx ei xx

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 14/02/2008 22:33

sounds good lljkk keep 'em up
xx ei xx

JossStick · 14/02/2008 22:33

I'll refrain from a kitkat as i'm currently demolishing a packet of Fox's Jam Creams.

lljkk - How about Cupid / Eros?

lljkk · 14/02/2008 22:34

We reckon as long as I can still pay some attention to Road Wars probably not time to phone MWs, yet.
Yes, planned homebirth, not that I'm feeling that eager about it. Birth is never easy, is it?!! Whimper, whimper...

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 22:36

you're doing just fine and by the time this is all over and done with we'll have the baking and knitting all ready for you

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

lljkk · 14/02/2008 22:37

Er, ahem, maybe as a nickname, Joss...
Oh great, now DH says he does like Valentino.
(over my dead body, I reply).
Don't think bubba will appear before midnight, anyway. I just need to whinge a bit (or a lot, even) in the meantime....

OP posts:
EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 14/02/2008 22:40

whinge away we will know when it is going well when you stop posting so its nice to see you here
i for one will have a nice virtual crocheted blanket (when you have finished giving birth and all) that you can happily fling in the bin if you want
xx ei xx

JossStick · 14/02/2008 22:43

How old are your other DCs - do they know what's going on?

Hope all is well at the mo.

dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 22:55

IIjkk am wishing you all the very VERY best for this during the night, am off to bed as pg fatigue kicking in, not even ER managing to keep me alert!
will check back in the morning and see how you're getting on

lljkk · 14/02/2008 23:03

other dc r 3, 8 & 6. Older 2 know baby will come 'soon'. They're all in bed, for now.... I'm not the quietest person at this birth stuff, but I hope they sleep thru any dramas.
Had strong ctx at 2243, 2253, a little weaker at 23:00...so things proceeding along.
Still, I might try drinking a big glass of cider & creeping off to bed, again.
Else see what 23:13 brings...
(Gawd, late night telly is awful, isn't it? No wonder I'm usualy in bed by now).

JossStick · 14/02/2008 23:04
