Anyone else go over with second baby?

I really thought I'd go earlier with my second but here I am still pregnant. It's quite depressing as everyone I know went earlier or the same time.

Any second time mums go over the first and if so by how much? I can't bare the idea of being pregnant even an hour longer Sad

Me! T'was very annoying as I was five days early with DC1, so just assumed DC2 would be early as well. Nope, little blighter finally put in an appearance five days after his due date. I was going mad. Fortunately normal service was resumed with DC3 who was five days early like DC1.

DC2 is still maddeningly late for everything, he drives me nuts!

Don't worry, you won't be pregnant forever. I do remember that feeling though, you just want it over and done with.

Aquamarine1029 · 27/11/2022 00:31

I did. My first was a day early and my second was a week late. It felt like they were trying to kill me.

ScornedChicken · 27/11/2022 00:33

Went over by full two weeks every single pregnancy I had (3). First one went over more than two weeks. They had forgotten about me and when I kicked up a fuss they palmed me off. Husband went mental and soon enough I was straight on ward. Being apologized to profusely. Luckily daughter was ok. Absolutely scarred me though.

JaneJeffer · 27/11/2022 00:33

I think I was about 10 months pregnant with DS2!

justabigdisco · 27/11/2022 00:34

1st baby 40+5
2nd baby I thought would be on time or early. 40+13!!

Puffalicious · 27/11/2022 00:36

Yup. DS1 was 2 weeks early, DS2 2 weeks late. I had to be induced eventually and when they broke my waters the nurse said 'He'd have been there until Xmas left to his own devices' - this was Nov 13th, he was due on Halloween.

16 years later he is late for everything and is a total sloth- always has been 🤣

Gronkle · 27/11/2022 00:37

Dc1 40+1
Dc2 40+11; also smaller than dc1

thaegumathteth · 27/11/2022 00:38

Both of mine were 13 days late - sorry!

I know at this stage every hour feels like a week but in the wider scheme of things you'll have a lovely cuddly wee newborn soon enough

Overoptimistix · 27/11/2022 00:45

Me too! First was a very polite 39+5, second was 40+4 so was expecting third to average out around my due date... 40+9! I was so cross! He was definitely worth the wait though.

I feel for you- the days over 40 weeks are the longest ever!

Sleepyquest · 27/11/2022 00:46

Yes - my first was born on time so I assumed first would be early. She was 10 days late and I spent each of those 10 days with a face like thunder, in a lot of pain and definitely cried every day. I didn't see how it could be possible! Hope baby is here soon

tpmumtobe · 27/11/2022 00:57

DC1 39+4
DC2 41+6

DC2 would still be in there were it not for acupuncture 🙄

Oh gosh this thread is bringing me back to reality and it's terrifying . I'm definitely at the crying every day stage and face like thunder. I don't really want to see anyone and in too much pain to do anything else (been so busy everyday to keep my mind off of things). Induction booked 8th December and feels a lifetime away!

Did you get acupuncture done in a clinic @tpmumtobe ? I've been doing acupressure at home with DH but to no avail so far.

Oh dear this is depressing me. Currently 38 weeks and SO OVER IT. First came at 38+5 so I was hoping to cross the finish line this week! :(

Mumof2catlovers · 27/11/2022 05:04

My first was 3 days early and my second.was 3 days late. You've got thus girl chin up

JustBkind · 27/11/2022 05:34

DC1 was 2 days early and DC2 was 9 days late! And was so much smaller than DC1 that I thought they had my dates wrong but was definitely just a late baby and small! Good luck with everything!

Whoneedsleep · 27/11/2022 06:15

DS came at 37 weeks, nice quick easy Labour.

DD eventually turned up at 41+5 and took 3 times as long as him to get out. I was due to be induced 24 hours later.

I remember how angry I was every single day until she got out. I’m pregnant again and I’m not even going to think about it until 41 weeks if I can help it to try and avoid the rage!

Ragingoverlife · 27/11/2022 06:21

First labour on due date. 40+1 gave birth. Second went Into labour at 41 weeks. 41+1 gave birth. (Someone said you not had that baby yet? I went bat shit crazy and went into labour 15 minutes later. 😂

Third elective c section.

4th. Booked in at 39+1 right after Xmas.

I feel your pain.

KangarooKenny · 27/11/2022 06:22

I was induced 10 or so days over with all of mine.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 27/11/2022 06:26

My first was a day early, my second 10 days late. Sorry OP Flowers

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 27/11/2022 06:27

Raspberry leaf extract (not faffing with tea) is fantastic. Twice a day last 4 weeks of pregnancy. I know it's a bit late for you OP, but everyone I know, including me, who took it didn't go overdue and had really good labours.

ChangingStates · 27/11/2022 06:29

DC1 - induced at 5 days over
DC2 - 14 days over, went into labour naturally a couple of hours before I was booked for induction
