When did second baby come?

I'm due tomorrow 😩😩 and still absolutely no signs I'll be going any time soon!

My first was born on his due date but I was in labour for two days prior.

When did your second baby come compared to first?

First on her due date.
2nd was 5 days late.
3rd arrived at 39 weeks.

boymummys · 14/04/2022 19:58

@kalidasa I've had my sweep this morning, and I'm pretty sure (sort of) that it's working.

I got told, now none of this makes any sense to me haha my first was spontaneous with waters breaking and no sign of plug that I'm aware of, but she said cervix 1cm length, very soft, did a great sweep and just under 3cm dilated, I've had some blood all day, not enough to wear a pad though, and it's along with mucus😩 hopefully something soon

@boymummys oh that's great news, it does sound like you're on the way! I think the thing with sweeps is there's not much evidence that they "work" unless your cervix is already favourable -- in other words, it was probably happening anyway. But it's great that you are already dilating. Hopefully you are having the baby right now!

boymummys · 15/04/2022 09:39

@kalidasa no 😩😩 just cleaning ready for him to come. Bleeding after the sweep stopped last night, but I've just been the toilet and I assume I've just lost the full plug, it's pink and huge 🤮 and looks like goo! So waiting for something to happen now. Hopefully he makes an appearance soon, thank you

Oh it's so frustrating! That was my experience with sweeps to be honest, that there was a bit of a reaction for a few hours each time then it all went quiet again. But it does sound as if your cervix is pretty favourable so it can't be long. Maybe with such a long build up the actual labour will be nice and quick?

Poppins2016 · 15/04/2022 10:12

That sounds very promising, losing the plug usually means that you'll be dilating and labour is just around the corner! Just remember to stay positioned UFO (upright, forward, open) if you can and perhaps go for a gentle walk, but do remember to conserve your energy too and take it easy.

huniimhome · 18/04/2022 01:03

Hiiii any news???

boymummys · 18/04/2022 06:21

Nooo 😩😩😩 still pregnant and now a week overdue. I'm so tired 😔 I don't think what I lost was the mucus plug, more like a bloody show! But I've been losing large blobs of mucus plug since Friday night, I read up it's about 2 tablespoons worth and I've definitely lost about that, this baby is far to comfy!

First waters broke at 40+1 then nothing happened for 12 hours then he quickly arrived at 40+2 in the morning.
Second I had no signs, convinced I would have to be induced but came on due date!

AllOverIt · 18/04/2022 06:34

DS = 37+2
DD = 39+5

Good luck OP!

Isonthecase · 18/04/2022 09:16

Oh dear, I remember that feeling! It's so frustrating waiting and waiting when you have all the signs, didn't help that EVERYONE else seemed to have theirs by the due date 🙈 hope he comes soon

huniimhome · 18/04/2022 11:32

Oh gosh. I'm the same if it makes you feel any better. A week overdue and no signs of baby. I could actually cry with exhaustion. Here's to it happening soon for the both of us 🤞🏽 xxx

boymummys · 18/04/2022 11:50

I know, I was actually lucky with my first coming when he did, I thought this one might have been sooner,

@huniimhome as much as I hate to say it, it actually does make me feel better that someone else is going through the same thing 😩😩 have you tried much to bring baby on? Hopefully it's not too long now for us both xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OP posts:
boymummys · 18/04/2022 11:50

Also ignore the amount of kisses lol, no idea what happened then 🤣🤣 xx

OP posts:
huniimhome · 18/04/2022 14:16

Haha it's ok. It definitely makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone. It's like others have said, it's more annoying when everyone else seems to have had their babies already/early! I've tried pineapples walking and hot curry's. Nothing worked. Have you tried anything yet? Xxx

boymummys · 18/04/2022 16:10

@huniimhome

Isn't it just😩 I've walked for miles, I ate a full pineapple yesterday and today, I've had curry's, the usual nothing seems to be shifting him, I've got another sweep tomorrow but not hopeful about it xxx

pinksquash13 · 23/04/2022 23:59

Have you had the baby OP?

boymummys · 24/04/2022 16:43

Sorry for late update, yes he arrived 8 days late on Tuesday.

Waters broke Tuesday morning, but they were brown, he had been pooing inside so was asked to go in Tuesday afternoon for monitoring, checked me at half four was still only 2cm. Said won't be checking me again till half 8 that night! Contractions started at 18.15 out of the blue, and he was born at 18.59.

No stitches needed though, don't even feel like I've had a baby, completely different to first baby and labour. Gas and air was a life saver haha.

Thank you everyone for the advice and help.

huniimhome · 25/04/2022 22:05

Hiiiii there congratulations @boymummys I've also had my little boy, on Tuesday aswell 🥰🥰 So happy. Quick labour but still had second degree tears and stitches xxx

boymummys · 25/04/2022 22:11

Ahh congratulations, I'm actually surprised I didn't, I had episiotomy and 2nd degree tear with my first so was expecting worse with this labour. Such a great experience, Still won't be doing it again though 🤣 how are you finding recovery? Hope you and baby boy are doing good xx

OP posts:
huniimhome · 25/04/2022 23:49

Yeah I was expecting a better outcome tbh. First labour I had third degree tears and an episiotomy. This time the labour progressed really fast and I really listened to my body but still tore. Recovery is ok ish. Taking pain killers round the clock though. How is your recovery? I'm breastfeeding, so baby has been constantly on me since Tuesday 🥰 xx

pinksquash13 · 30/04/2022 01:03

Congratulations OP. Thrilled for you. Hope you are enjoying new born snuggles .

Caesious · 30/04/2022 05:11

First baby born at 39+4 after five days of slow labour. Second baby born at 40+1. No labour signs until that morning, some irregular tightening during the day. Waters went at 9.30pm and he was born 16 mins after we got to the hospital at 10.30pm. There is hope for you yet!
