When did second baby come?

I'm due tomorrow 😩😩 and still absolutely no signs I'll be going any time soon!

My first was born on his due date but I was in labour for two days prior.

When did your second baby come compared to first?

@boymummys hope you're doing OK today I've decided to just ignore the messages and turn off notifications on my phone!

I'm officially having a "long latent phase" which is really the last thing I expected giving how my labour with my eldest went. I'm having contraction type pains but no regularity to them at all.

I've only had about 6 hours sleep since Saturday night because of it ended up calling the midwife in tears this morning... but tonight my son is staying with my MIL, and the lovely midwife has said I can have a dose of codeine and some aromatherapy oils to help with the pain this evening, so hoping to get better sleep tonight.

I then have a stretch and sweep tomorrow morning and will discuss booking induction then. Baby seems perfectly happy and well in there and I'd like to give him a decent chance to come without induction so another few days, but also think having a definite end in sight might help.

All just goes to show you can't predict how labour is going to go from mother to mother or baby to baby.

@89redballoons im feeling your pain right now, I was up all night with really bad back ache, felt close to how it stated with my first but nothing today up untill now, yet another dose of back ache😩 really hoping your sweep does something for you tomorrow, I've always said I'll never have induction due to the horror story's of days waiting but at this rate once I hit a week over I'll be asking for it haha, I've got a sweep on Thursday, so
Hopefully if I haven't had him by then that should start something off.

No I know that know haha, always heard story's of second coming before first but clearly in a lot of peoples cases that isn't what happened and certainly not with me, I'm only one day over due, so have no idea how your coping right now. From an early scan I had due to bleeding they said mine was due on the 17th, but the dating scan said 11th so wonder if the first was more accurate 🤔

DS2: 27.0
DD: 41.2

There is no rhyme or reason.

@boymummys yes similar thing here actually. Going by scans and my last period my due date has always been 6 April but I know exactly when this baby was conceived (only one possible date that month! ) and I'd have expextex it to be a few days later based on that.

Good luck for your sweep on Thursday. Have you been taking paracetamol for the backache? I know it doesn't sound like it should help with actual labour type pains but no harm in trying.

4th 41 +7….on the plus side I went from a 48hr labour (from 1st contractions to delivery) to a 10hr labour.

1 - 41 + 6
2 - 42 + 1. Was also told would be early and huge. Late and tiny 🙄😂

42 weeks exactly.

DD1 - 40+5
DD2 - 42 weeks

The longest 2 weeks of my life!!!

All these 40+ are not making me feel any better right now hahha,

@Isitbedtimeyet10 do you mind me asking how tiny? My first was due date at 7.7 at my 38 week scan with this one they have estimated 7 already so dreading if I go much further over 😩😩

@89redballoons yes I finally took some when I sent my last message, not that they do much, but that's all I actually had with my first born during labour, they handed me paracetamol when I asked for epidural haha, was already to late to have it, and he was back to back, didn't know exactly what that meant until after birth otherwise I would of asked a-lot sooner, the more I'm going over the more nervous I get, I didn't know what to expect with my first, but I know to an extent what's got to happen now and the more I think about it the more scared I get 🤣

DC1 - 39 weeks
DC2 34 weeks

First was 4 days early and a 37 hour nightmare of augmentation, waters broken, and ended in a ventouse as she was huge (9lb12) and back to back.

Second was 10 days early, waters went at home and he was born 10 hours later after they gave me diamorph and I slept for several hours!

First- 39 +6 and 10 hours in labour, about 4 of those in hospital.
Second- 38 weeks, born on the toilet.

My first was 38+5 weeks and second 40+2, I felt so overdue at 38 weeks with my second and begged my consultant for a sweep on my due date! I hope you're not waiting too much longer.

God, I hate to say this, but my second arrived 5 days ago. THIRTEEN days late. FFS

first was 8 days over

@boymummys 6.14 !!!! Predicted to be larger than my first who was 8.6. So not sure where they got that from !

@boymummys fingers crossed for you ! Mind you the size of me by 42 weeks, you'd have thought an elephant was in there 😂

@Isitbedtimeyet10 honestly I'm the same, been measuring off the charts with the midwife😩

My first was born on her due date too, second was about 10 days late.

So for @boymummys and anyone else who might happen to be following... my beautiful second son was born 4 hours ago, at exactly 41 weeks weighing just a touch under 7lbs. He is absolutely brilliant and labour was really straightforward once it got going.

DS1 was 39+5
DS2 was 39+6 (labour about half as long)

So basically exactly the same. I had loads of sweeps etc with DS2 from a few weeks before as I was in a wheelchair and my consultant felt sorry for me but I don't think they made any difference.

Currently 37+1 with DS3 and was suspicious I might go a bit early as have been having loads of massive Braxton Hicks for weeks, but I had a fancy cervix scan thing on Tuesday (am in France this time) and they said it is long, firm and totally closed so they reckon it won't be very soon and will probably be the same sort of time as the others. I hope yours arrives soon!
