Ok they've always been broken before me at the end of labour they have just gushed when I was in bed and more now i'm out of bed. Luckily I put one of those mat pads on bed as I had a feeling. No pains as yet just feel rather taken aback and shakey! Waters are clear i'm having a homebirth do I ring mw or do I just wait until I get pain. Think i'm a bit in shock. I can't stop shaking!

oooh pictures most definately.
i dont think it unreasonable to expect a woman in mid labour to pause her contractions in order to inform the waiting nation of her dilation.

Ledodgy · 03/01/2008 01:20

Thank you have calmed down a bit now but ds is up and can sense sometjhing is afoot he's screaming formme so has come downstairs with dp. It's a boy we found out at 20 weeks. Still leaking water and my bump is noticably smaller. Think i'm just in shock atm and awaiting pains but that might be ages yet who knows! If he does come today i'll have gone 39+4 with all of them which is quite tidy isn't it? anyway mw still isn't here not sure where she's coming from but she was half asleep on the phone so hope she hasn't turned over and gone back to bed.

Yes, v tidy - well done!

Do you think you could sleep? I know I didn't feel able to once my waters had gone because it's hard to sleep when you feel like you're urinating - utterly unnatural!

lou33 · 03/01/2008 01:23

oh please have him today

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 03/01/2008 01:29

Can you hurry this along a bit Ledodgy? I don't want to miss anything but I do need to go to bed..

OverRated · 03/01/2008 01:30

Thats very impressive, ledodgy

Niecie · 03/01/2008 01:36

I didn't sleep either after my waters went. I had to stay awake to monitor twinges!

Plenty of today left to make sure the LO keeps to the family timetable, though. It is a bit surreal, knowing you are about to go into labour imminently, isn't it.

Has the midwife turned up yet?

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 01:42

im off to bed, my eyes are stinging but i shall be up bright and early to get an update.

good luck Ledodgy.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 03/01/2008 02:06

1dilemma · 03/01/2008 02:15

Good luck

Ledodgy · 03/01/2008 02:53

Mw been and gone she's leaving me to it until I get in any pain she's only round the corner she couldn't examine me because that would mean we were on a time limit bec ause of the risk of infection. Baby is fine though and in lovely position and she thinks i'll have had him by this time tommorrow probably in the next few hours she said shes got a feeling i'll probably just get the urge to push! Bad news is she went to set up the gas and air for me just in case and whoever packed the box packed the wrong mouth piece and there's nowhere she can get the right one from until much later on this morning so if I go soon I have no pain relief at all! My best friend is here with me as is dp.

Ledodgy · 03/01/2008 07:48

Getting regular contractions for the last hour nothing really to write home about yet but reckon it won't be long. Got pains and pressure all through the night. Dp went to bed at 3 am and has just got up and me and my best friend stayed up until 6 am then managed to catch an hours sleep. We kept on getting the giggles and it was like the sleepovers we had when we were young. I hope I go soon because if I haven't given birth in 24 hours i'll have to go to hospital to get induced and if I haven't by 12 hours i'll have to go to hospital to get traced and if everything is ok they'll send me home again. I am getting regular pain now so don't think it will be too long I hope they can get the right gas and air mouth piece this morning..

good luck!

arfishy · 03/01/2008 07:53

[offers paracetamol]

Fingers crossed that they sort out the gas and air and don't have to take you in. Sounds fun at the moment though

Are you swivelling on a birth ball? Not that I did tbh. I just lay on the sofa and wanted my mummy. Because I'm well 'ard.

WaynettALotOfMincePies · 03/01/2008 07:54

How exciting!!!
Good luck!

Ledodgy · 03/01/2008 07:55

No I have got an exercise ball but tbh I just fal of it. I suppose I could have walked around a bit in the night to get things moving but quite frankly I was knackered and couldn't be arsed so I just sat on the sofa nattering in between tightenings.

bamamama · 03/01/2008 08:07

could DP or friend (or yourself even) type in a transcript of the birth? We haven't been in the Guardian for ages...

Hope it's all going well.
